  1. albi you've been whooshed and it made me smile and on the second point, well you have missed the point, so feel free not to get involved and move on with your hilarious animated images that sometimes entertain but too much of a good thing often just gets sad.
  2. Leeann was quite passionate this weeyin, she knows we have supporters all over the world and spoke about how he receives communications from North America, Gulf states, Africa, Oz and Leamington spa and spoke about how there are people closer to home but who are just far enough away, or are in certain circumstances, that they aren't connected to the club and who are as passionate abut supporting Motherwell as some that get to games regularly, for obvious reasons they want everyone to join in but it seemed to me, far more than that, for me she spoke that its not all about taking from fans, she wants on all levels to deliver a sense of community and belonging and for expats and fans at distance she spoke about how the investment was going into MFCTV and the website, email communications etc, she knows how passionate you lot are and she wants to do as much as possible to keep you all connected with the club, as has been mentioned they have been pushing the FSA to sign off on the Industrial Provident Society (IPS) and cannot really take money from fans at present ( although there is always a way) but they felt they had to come out and talk to the support, as John announced this around the cup final time, but what they do want is to start connecting with those interested to help with spreading the word so as such, anyone that is interested can contact wellsociety@motherwellfc.co.uk and they would love to hear of expressions in interest to judge how this is going down. there were lots of anecdotal evidence of how hard the club are working in the background to support what is seen as the core values of the club and whilst these initiatives can always be misinterpreted, they do seem to be steering the club in a good direction, I have issues with the club on a couple of matters, but this certainly isn't one of them. this is entirely my own views and wasn't mentioned at the meeting but, this is almost like the end of the dark period of administration, ask yourself what you would have paid to save the club in those days, as its much the same decision, back then it would have meant instant closure, if John Boyle had walked but without the financial backing of a successful 'Well society, it'll be a fairly quick downward slide maybe not to closure but it wouldn't be pretty, as horrendous cuts would have to be made to all the initiatives that are growing the fan base but on a more direct level, the budget for players wages would get hammered as it was made quite clear that its the biggest monthly expenditure, so without the security to get through the lean months when income is low, it would hurt the team the most EDIT: to biggayal: Craggs was there and spoke about how good things are at the club, he made an anecdotal quip that Faddy had been in yesterday and they had spoke about the 'Well society and how James would be the 1st to sign up and how Craggs himself was definitely going to be the 2nd in that case, only difference being faddy would probably be able to send £25K but craggs will be at a lower level
  3. was mentioned about at the meeting this evening, can't be far away from more footage on MFCTV
  4. take your own advice and come back when you have news about a transfer in or out
  5. As has been emphasised its about raising funds, and getting membership of the 'Well society, first and foremost, the club have also tried to build in some value for each level of membership. But John Boyle has left the building, we will not have always have the income we had last year which has us in a very stable position at present ( meaning we did not have to sell any players in the window) but after exploring many options the 'Well society is the preferred route and if the funds cannot be raised then the direction of the club will change as budgets will have to reflect whatever funds are available. the point was also made that anyone or any organisation can join, so for example a supporters clubs could generate funds and join at any level, the various fans football clubs could join etc eventually the 'Well society will hold approx 75% of the club shares ( initially 35% from memmory and the other 40% held in a trust until the society is up and functioning and proven to be able to take control of itself) again from memory I think it was said that the next biggest single holding is 4.5%
  6. I was there s well and I thought it was very positive packages will not suit everyone and still awaiting FSA sign-off as well as some small tweaks to cross the t's and dot the i's but on a whole the club seem to have been doing a fair amount of work on this and are willing to work with anything that gets suggested that will benefit the process and seem to have tried the best to allow as many as possible to participate the aim at the end of the day is to raise the money to replace JB's personal funds that have over the years bailed us out over the lean periods until other funds are made available e.g SPL payments TV payments, cup runs or player transfers the money raised is going to be used for only the purpose of supporting the club in the event of cash-flow problems some effort went into explaining the funding of the club over the year and how the income is staggered and doesn't balance monthly but does so over the year when the club is successful a few good points raised from the audience which were taken on board for review and even discussed live, and it was reitterated that no-one makes money from this process (except the lawyers!) they want everybody on board from all the supporters worldwide, they have commited to making it work and will do their upmost to make it work, financially there will be flexibility in payments but they emphasised it is a fundraising exercise as much as it is about handing over JB's shares to the fans
  7. Harsh crowd in here is it not Did you mean, you thought we'd have a few players in our squad that would be in with a shout of a Scotland U21 squad place and are surprised not to see any in there and as such opening the debate for others with more knowledge for input into why we have none at this time or perhaps lending an opinion on who might be on the horizon? Because thats what I was thinking when I seen your post and I'm also a little surprised to see no 'Well players in the pool although I have limited knowledge of the U21 pool of players who are in contention
  8. you getting sponsored for this Gaag? does it need to be your link rather than the other thread that already exists for it to count?
  9. you forgot to mention MJC said we had no chance of winning and would probably get humiliated, so all being well he'll be along and predict the same.
  10. sh*te draw, middle in a run of 3 home games for us Saturday ST J-midweek Hibs-Saturday Sheep hopefully a good gateprice for home and away fans (Hibs are away to Dunfermline Saturday before it and thats on TV so sensible pricing might tempt their travelling fans to choose Fir Park) Edit: Motherwell and HIbs play each other 3 times in just over 10weeks
  11. Closest I've seen reported would be a caption on the official sites pictures where Higdon is celebrating his 4th "salutes the 800+ Motherwell fans inside East End park" so estimated to be similar to Clyde but a wee bit less than St Mirren game that was announced as 1001 or 1002 at the game
  12. wonder if he uses the same agent as the Chris
  13. can't think of any season where the Old Firm will have been behind on fixtures every week after the first round of games tho' Still a fine tally of points
  14. I remember a similar thread about Murphy
  15. Brazilian

    Clyde

likewise he needs to sharpen up his corner delivery if hes going to be the right hand corner specialist but the rest of his game has been solid this season , he went missing briefly last year, but most certainly a first pick every week ( as the 100 games is testament to!)
  16. all our signings have been the easy option, even the goalkeeper coach something to do with working within the limits (good financial management) of the club and that includes the managers appointment
  17. whats wrong Steelboy? you not happy with the signing, dont feel its good value for your cash input to the club noticed some negative vibes from your postings
  18. I'd never have put Stuart McCall down as a loser but hey everybody surprises you now and again
  19. Harsh but maybe a lot of truth in there Dave, maybe all cannot be blamed on individuals re- the defence being awful, I actually thought Hammell and Hately had good games (so do many others in the MOTM thread) and Craggs and Hutch had hell of a lot to deal with in the match, but 3 goals against I'd tend to agree that the defence must have been awful but I'd go with how we were setup and asked to play over the individuals being at fault I've now watched the match twice and on those viewing as well as last week I think we are starting to see players in the team, use Humphrey as a last option, especially as the game wore on, hence the frustration of many, the boys got heart and desire to do well but something else is missing at present, Ironically the one good cross I remember him making led directly to the 3rd goal midfield (jennings) too many times were simply by-passed by Rangers due to the gaping spaces left around and behind them due to the advancing fullbacks and Law/Lasley pushing up at the same time Forwards as you described overall the management team need to instill a desire and passion as well as the tactics to win or draw!, and up to during and even after the game or any others against them Mr McCall and co. don't seem to believe we should ever do it
  20. Brazilian

    Rangers

Seriously? Hately our right back? sold the second goal? a goal that stemmed from our LEFT wing, was worked into the centre circle and then passed out into a gaping space where our LEFT back or his cover should have been. and during this move, Hately was the only one that got a challenge in,after busting a gut to get to Ortiz, as all the others watched it developing around them. he has his flaws but fuk me not covering the left hand side of the team isn't one of them Looney isn't anywhere near strong enough
  21. inspired performance by 'Samson' for ST Mirren stopped him scoring
  22. Brazilian

    Rangers

so many players could and should have stopped the ball before it got anywhere near Randolph for the second from Hammells lazy collection of Laws slack pass, whilst advanced up the park, to Law not filling in for Hammell at LB , to Jenno being left facing off two of them at the edge of the centre circle to Craggs being sucked towards the middle Leaving Lafferty even tho Hately had powered back to challenge Ortiz, right down to Murphy not having the legs/desire to cover all the way back with Lafferty
