  1. Hearts are a big team apparently and dangerous at dead ball. Get kennedy in at right back for law. Ainsworth for chalmers and moult for fletcher for his trickiery.
  2. chalmers is a left/center back playing left midfield. Whilst, he's doing well to get into goal scoring opportunities, he seems he does not have the instinct or perhaps bravery to put the ball in the net. He's wasted good chances in Inverness, and today. Law is our weak link in the defence, and all opposition will target him. He seems to panic on the ball, and lacks concentration. Given Johnson's playing on the right and probably tracks back more than Ainsworth this is going to be an ongoing problem. Once we get Ainsworth back into the team, Johnson will be back on the left and probably get more space to play. McDonald's lack of form/sharpness is probably down to a lack of pre season. He will get better when Ainsworth pace is introduced, as teams cant double up on Johnson, Ainsworth & McDonald. Pearson's energy was missed in the middle of the park. Thats no slate on Leitch, as he is a totally different player, but we need a player in who can do the Pearson role. Dundee Utd seem to have a hoodoo on us currently. Seems every time we play them we have key players missing, and suffer bad luck. One of these days...
  3. Im all for giving youth a chance but we need energy and power in the middle of the field. If cadden fits that ethos then fine but we still need to replace pearson if out for a while and one other as cover.
  4. The young players who we have promoted to first team squad may be technically good, but lack the physique to compete i feel. Hopefully our fitness guru will sort that out in the comming months. Of course in the short term its a problem that needs addressed.
  5. dont think chalmers is any quicker than Leitch. Hows about kennedy? big quick lad. Was suprised he was not brought on at right back and law pushed forward into right midfield.
  6. said it early but at the time i thought it was a stupid decision to go into that tackle. You wonder if it was payback for an earlier reckless tackle on Skippy. He's potentially screwed things up for himself and the team. Whilst we want the younger guys to get a chance in the first team, IMO Leitch does not have either the physique or energy we badly need in the middle of the park, especially if Pearson is out. To accommodate the younger guys we might need three in the middle of the park. Could Clarkson play the Pearson role? Either way we might need two new midfield players, never mind just the one.
  7. Lasley outstanding. Won the ball time after time, with a brilliant challenge late in game.
  8. That was as comfortable 1 nil you will ever see. Had we been more clinical it could have been 4 zip easy. Pearson was stupid with his lounge which injured him and his opponent. Could have cost us as leitch does not offer the same energy as pearson does. Mcdonald tried but more often than not fluffed things. Lack of pre season. We need a high energy center midfield player pronto if pearson is out for a while. Goalie was confident and dominate. Law needs to learn about not giving ball away cheaply.
  9. the officials are having a blinder the night. not once mentioned.............
  10. Difficult to say whether any player had a good or bad game based on twitter updates. What is encouraging was watt being mentioned in an attacking sense on top of his goal against livi. Also that fletcher bagged another. Link up play etc all seems promising. Hopefully this continues when the real action starts.
  11. seems watt is getting himself involved in an attacking sense. good to see and hopefully his confidence grows. Could Wes be the poacher we've been looking for?
  12. saving our goals for the real matches.. main thing is fitness and getting the players learning each others moves etc. the link up play being reported is promising.
  13. dont care who we sign or what their age is as long as they can keep the ball out the net more often than not.
  14. you for real? based on a twitter report .... lets just gloss over the goal he created for Thomas..
  15. Beggers cant be choosers. One thing identifying and targeting any player another thing is getting them to sign on the dotted line....
  16. Some valid points. but the defence or should i say same culprits made the same mistakes that they were making last year. We badly need an organiser at the back. No point on being on top like the first half today and then gifting them a stupid goal. We were not in it in the second half and that includes prior to the subs taking place.
  17. Normally, i would agree about friendly results, but we need to build confidence with wins and quickly given the difficult start we have.
  18. Same mistakes at the back. Nothing creative in the middle of park. No service to the attackers. No ability to keep the ball under pressure. Pretty much sums it up. Much work to be done...
  19. Totally agree with welldaft. Get him to coach the kids as well. Mon the returnees...
  20. Some like, some don't. Probably the nature of the beast these days. White shorts maybe would have been better for home strip, but at the end of the day, it does not matter what they wear, as long as they do the business on the park.
  21. Welcome to 'well Louis, hopefully you do the business. Certainly competition upfront now which can only be a good thing.
  22. It's upto to Moore to up his game and show he deserves to be ahead of any other striker we have in the squad.
  23. nothing can be taken for granted. Just remember we stole big marv at the last minute. Just need to wait and see i guess. At least things seem to be picking up pace now on the transfer front.
  24. seems he can also play right back.
