  1. i dont think people dont rate him, it's just he aint developing the way we had all hoped. He still scores goals, but could do alot better, and probably he knows that as well. McCall playing him on the left when he appears better on the right aint helping, and likewise he should be doing everything in his power to increase his strength. Maybe we just expect to much from him, given that he's carried the team on many occasions.
  2. lasleys season could soon be over with all these bans. Diving into tackles in the middle of the field is stupid and irresponsible.
  3. just goes to show how bad scottish football is that Murphy has reached double figures whilst playing in midfield, whilst having a very poor season. Meanwhile Ojamma, a player who could not buy a contract as a player, joins us and rips defences to pieces. Murphy's problem is his apparent lack of confidence, and strength. Strength can be gained, confidence is the difficult part. He has the ability.
  4. he needs to bulk up, and we've been saying that for many months. he's been playing better on right and today he was back on left. why?
  5. Aberdeen ran right over the top of us today. Jennings & Lasley against there three players was a miss match. As a result the defence was left exposed time after time. Mind you the marking for the first goal was school boy stuff. Once they got the corner that never was and goal, and our missed penalty, there was never any doubt we would lose today. It's hard to be to critical given the season we've had, but Lasley was a disgrace, Hateley needs to practice his set pieces, as they are a joke. Murphy, why is he playing on the left given he was doing better on the right? Anyhow, that lad is going nowhere fast. Long ball against aberdeen is a fecking joke, and funny enough our goal came about when we worked it down the flank and got a decent cross in. Time humph was in from the start instead of murphy. It now seems when it matters most our players dont have even an ounce of bottle. Mind you should not be surpised given they are with us, but thats two none appearances in the cup when it matters. Celtic are going to waltz the treble, same although we've lost good income, for me i am glad i dont have to stomach another inept performance against them.
  6. I hope he can regain even 75% of what he had, but there's always the possibility of another brian mclair scenario.
  7. once in a lifetime chance of champions league football. lets go and grab it please.
  8. Upto now, it would be hard to disagree. Lets just wait and see what happens over the comming weeks tho. Lots of hard work are still required by our chaps.
  9. could be a tough game, but if we come out with all guns blazing, we could blow them away. Dons will sit in and hope to pinch a goal, or take it to a replay. A replay might actually work against them as surely they would have to open up a little at home.
  10. good solid win. Cant ask for anymore. Well done chaps.
  11. get him to sign an extension to his contract. It's pointless us putting a value on him, as the club will punt him at the first offer. Given the amount of time he's been at the club, could be 10-12 years, i would hope we are more than suitably compensated for his developement. say £50k - £100k for each year aint unreasonable.
  12. why is he (bonnar) even there. In anycase why listen to the sportsound old firm love in.
  13. when they said having a go, was it a square go??
  14. i think our problem with the old firm, is that we do change tactics. Keep the same shape, and play the same way.
  15. either that our they are all lying down in a dark corner
  16. we aint good enough to sit back and hope for a nil nil. lets just go for it.
  17. brilliant result against our bogey team. We cant afford to start slowly against celtic tho.
  18. so what did we do with the £500k?

    Vs Hearts

romanov might be more interested now, and let jambos play kello in goal.
  20. Does anyone think we should offer an extension to Murphy's contract? He comes accross as someone who would rather stay amongst his friends, family, and play regular football at club where is happy. Remember he is still a young guy, and staying with us for another couple of years, still ensures a bigger move, assuming he wants it and he starts to perform consistantly. Perhaps if Murphy actually had more belief in his own ability, it would be a step in trying to get consistancy. I am not saying he would actually sign an extension, but if you dont ask...
  21. yes i understand that, but do the club already not have the funds after last season to reject pathetic offers?
  22. maybe he was being loyal and feels he can help our club to do better than last season, or maybe he was going to spend time on the bench and get paid more or less the same wage as he is currently on. either way i am happy he is staying, because when he is on form, he is our best creative player.
  23. I know it's been said many times but are our directors already holding back monies for a rainy day? We've been reducing our squad every year to enable us to offer better terms to first team players. Thus, ensuring the wage budget more or less stays the same. Another example being the release of Steve Howarth (I know he was probably on peanuts, but was his money given to Carswell?) Our cup exploits generated alot of money that surely was not in any way budgeted for. I am sure our chief executive said when we reached the final that we would be financially secure for the next 3 years. So taking on board what i have said, why is our club prepared to sell probably one of our most talented players, and key players for peanuts (ok he has not been on the best of form, but his very presence in the team probably creates more space for others etc etc) , especially when he has 1 1/2 left on his contract. Surely, with Murphy in the team we stand a better chance of progression in the cup and europe finish this year, which again could generate more income. Over the years we all have accepted we are a selling club, but have been often angered by selling players for peanuts, when lesser players, even in lower divisions get sold for considerably more monies. The club have stated they were trying to move away from those actions, but yesterday acceptance of peanuts and add ons would say something totally different. It's all very well getting add ons, but there is no guarantee it can help the club in the future, when a higher fee just now, would be far more beneficial. Perhaps it was our club that offered Murphy to Blackpool.Would not be suprised. Whilst, i can understand there aint much money about, it again seems other clubs senior management can negotiate better deals. Our club want us to donate monies, because that is what it is, to apparently help the club out in times of difficulties. Is anyone confident they can manage our monies properly? Our club cant continue to apparently fail to generate decent transfer fee income, and expect the fans to dig deep again. Our loyal core of 4000 have been doing that for many years. Yesterdays actions i am sure has raised a few doubts about contributing amongst some of our support, especially on the back of financial mess this country is in. We appointed a director to generate more money for the club. It seems his only contribution is to ask the fans for even more money! Yes, it would be nice to ensure our club continues at it's current level, but i am sorry families come first. The club needs to lead by example and show us it efforts of raising income, without asking the fans yet again.
  24. £250k your having a laugh. we would get more if he goes out of contract in compensation. Maybe the lad is showing abit of loyality, maybe he's happy at motherwell. Not every player, like individuals in every walk of life, want to move away from family and friends.
