  1. Yet the big goalie was getting pelters for poor performances.... where as taylor is to be binned without the chance to show his worth.

Very early to be writing of any new player.

Posters are entitled to their opinions, but surely we are better than petty name calling. Im sure all at the club know they need to be better going forward.
  4. perhaps we should just copy this thread and rename is motherwell v killie it seems we are going over old ground yet again. Oh for a boring average season.....
  5. so many on here who are critical of his subs today or player performances. How many were at the game? Seems from the stats that again there was not much in it. But who knows?? It was never going to be an easy game, and losing again after being in the lead is very disappointing. It's all very well saying we need this or that player (I'm as guilty as the rest) but perhaps those sort of players just wont come to us for the money we are paying. The midfield for me has been the problem for a long time. Our wingers just don't have the mentality to defend properly which puts the defence under pressure. Whilst the standard ain't that good, the league is tough. Confidence is everything and usually the only thing that seperates teams. We got off to a good start, and then through bad luck, poor decisions etc our team has now got to perform under pressure. This is something which apart from the Rangers game, they have failed to do so. Time for a few to stand up and be counted. Next week will be a battle.
  6. long, long way to go, but we need to beat killie next week. We really need to start taking our chances. Moult clean through after scoring and misses. Game changer there!
  7. not really, we seem to be mentally weak and incapable of seeing a game out. We need a bruiser in pronto.
  8. it would seem the same this game like others, i.e. plenty of chances to score, and then punished for not taking those chances. One of these days.....
  9. surely got to be expected that St Johnstone who are a decent team will have a period in the game where they are on top, especially at home. hopefully we dig in, and then kick on again.
  10. seldom have i read so many variations on how A Player performed. fans are as inconsistant as the team is the only conclusion i can come to.
  11. another goal lost to a set piece. why do we bother?? carbon copy of last season it seems with regards to the defence. we might be better going forward but the same mistakes at the back is costing us yet again. We've lost a hell of alot of soft goals this season already.
  12. we seem to have picked up abit since we lost the goal. long 2nd half tho.....
  13. Aberdeen, hearts and utd have bigger budgets, so would expect them to be better than us. Caley who we beat are probably on par. Of course money does not mean everthing as we have shown in the past. However it is not unreasonable to think we would struggle the first four games.
  14. Maybe scared of being to open? Lets be honest caley had nothing up front where as Hearts are dangerous up front.
  15. Think in many eyes we have 3 points more than expected when the fixtures were announced. We need to be patient and level headed.
  16. Thing is weve been creating good chances but aint taking them. We are then being punished for mistakes. We need to remember we have been playing good teams and its still early in the season. l
  17. Playing taylor was not the lone reason we got beat. Think mcdonald mimmicking lasleys start last season.
  18. When the front guys dont perform then the defence is under pressure.
  19. We fluffed an early chance. Gifted a penalty and been chasing the game against a team high in confidence.
  20. Think youll find utds goalie also kept them in it at important stages of the game. We were the better team and defence coped very well until the fluke goal.
  21. Hearts are a big team apparently and dangerous at dead ball. Get kennedy in at right back for law. Ainsworth for chalmers and moult for fletcher for his trickiery.
  22. chalmers is a left/center back playing left midfield. Whilst, he's doing well to get into goal scoring opportunities, he seems he does not have the instinct or perhaps bravery to put the ball in the net. He's wasted good chances in Inverness, and today. Law is our weak link in the defence, and all opposition will target him. He seems to panic on the ball, and lacks concentration. Given Johnson's playing on the right and probably tracks back more than Ainsworth this is going to be an ongoing problem. Once we get Ainsworth back into the team, Johnson will be back on the left and probably get more space to play. McDonald's lack of form/sharpness is probably down to a lack of pre season. He will get better when Ainsworth pace is introduced, as teams cant double up on Johnson, Ainsworth & McDonald. Pearson's energy was missed in the middle of the park. Thats no slate on Leitch, as he is a totally different player, but we need a player in who can do the Pearson role. Dundee Utd seem to have a hoodoo on us currently. Seems every time we play them we have key players missing, and suffer bad luck. One of these days...
  23. Im all for giving youth a chance but we need energy and power in the middle of the field. If cadden fits that ethos then fine but we still need to replace pearson if out for a while and one other as cover.
  24. The young players who we have promoted to first team squad may be technically good, but lack the physique to compete i feel. Hopefully our fitness guru will sort that out in the comming months. Of course in the short term its a problem that needs addressed.
