Hughes has contributed less than Gow so far, and we never missed him when he left. If he wants to stay he needs to show alot more, and given his contract has expired, he's maybe not going to get any more chances. Carswell would have been better suited today, as he offers more dig. He should be getting more game time, given that he is our future. Moving Hateley again never worked. Lets just keep him at right back, where he is miles better. Punting the ball to Higdon aint going to work, as a) he has no support & b) the refs wont allow him to compete for the ball, for some reason. He certainly does not get a fair crack with the refs, something the st mirren fans warned us about.

aye we are third, and thats very good. But for once, hows about giving the fans a peformance against Rangers. I aint asking for a win, just some effort, commitment and proper organisation at the back.
-
when we got the ball they closed us down, they got the ball, we backed off. Says it all. They might have more resources at their disposal, but technically they aint any better. It seems we have forgotten how to play the ball on the deck, how to press the opposition and give a feck basically!
-
as someone said before lafferty is the danger. take him out early doors.mind you 11 traffic cones would give us problems if they had rangers tops stuck to them.
-
today is disappointing, but not unexpected. If you cant be merry when we are sitting third, five points clear of fourth, game in hand, then you will never be a merry 'well fan. remember we could be involved in a relegation battle, like the dons.

i thought jennings grabbed his face to give him a big kiss, but obviously the saints player was not in the festive mood So when does the referee serve his suspension, given the incident happened right in front of him? If a referee show discretion, then some guy in a suit can disagree and hand out a two game suspension. Madness. The suit mob are going to be very busy every week. Perhaps the club should adopt the government approach and sensor any tv pictures
-
all of this would not have happened if the referee had acted on the two footed tackle on jennings. Hows about the referee is banned for two games for incompentence.

I wonder if the local retail parks were gritted prior to their opening?
-
our poor form is mediocre?? Surely, that bit over the top, given we've lost only 3 times all season. I remember seasons where we hardly picked up a point at home all season. Lets not get ahead of ourselves, and enjoy the fact we are 3rd, picking up points most week.
-
take a draw at home, as long as we keep winning away. It will be tough, like every game in the SPL, as there is little other than confidence, between most of the teams. As fans we need to be patient, as one goal might be enough to win this.
-
dont think the size of park has got anything to do with anything. Seems alot of clubs find it easier away from home. perhaps its the modern day tactics.
-
its good they were arguing, it shows they care and are committed. I would be more concerned if they were all smiles when they walked off. We need to get the home win monkey of our back, and quick. Tho, Hibs always cause us problems, so losing at half time was no great shock.

i remember the days when a draw against utd, was deemed a good result. I also remember reading a certain poster stating they dont fancy Hughes much in a battle, yet are suddenly suprised he aint playing in a battle in a middle of a weather storm Whilst, it's frustrating we aint battering teams 5 nil at home, we should be flattered that teams are trying to park the bus. Even the best teams in the world often struggle to beat well organised defensive teams, so why should we be any different given our lack of resources? I would take a draw at home most weeks if our away form continues as it is. I reckon we are about 3 wins away from being safe from relegation! As long as we continue to pick up points in most of our games, we will be fine.

it's all if's and but's. Sell one or two, use money to resign those others on better terms seems the normal. We are having one of our best seasons so far for many a year, so why worry about future seasons. We've always managed to do quite well, at times when things seem bleak. Cannae see many players wanting to leave if we are in the champions league next season
-
given our exploits in the league and cup last season, we were told that we were on a good financial basis for 2-3 years, and one of the reasons we managed to not sell anyone in the summer. So whats changed? Remember, our squad actually shrunk in the summer yet again. To sell a valuable team member in January would be stupid, given his backup is injured and the difficulties in replacing him at that time. We have a hard enough job bringing players in the summer, never mind January. So whilst, we should not stand in the way of a player bettering himself, the timing of any move has to benefit both parties, and January would not seem to benefit us, especially given how well we are doing. As for the valuation, seems somewhat low, given that apparent urgent need of the buying club (if Leeds) to solve a problem area. They want him that bad, let them pay over the odds. Yes, perhaps we are a selling club, but i thought the days of letting players go on the cheap was behind us, as we were investing in these players to sell on at a good price. Once you deduct fees, tax, vat, and costs to replace the player, i doubt any money left would be significant to make any real difference to our budgets. As someone said, you let players go cheaply, i aint putting money into the club. I wonder how many others feel the same.

yes i know, it aint match fixing charge, i was answering a point a poster made previously about how the football authorities could use that charge to suspend the player.
-
Read what your saying, but i am not sure how match fixing can be brought into it. Plenty of teams have won or lost with players being sent off, so i cant see how they could prove his sending off ensured a result. Sure, they might be able to prove it was deliberate sending off to take a few quid of the bookies, hardly in the same league IMO as apparently raping someone, assaulting someone, taking drugs and running from a police officer who's trying to detain them etc etc. If the SFA/SPL suspend Jennings, then they leave themselves open to alot of flack about the other individual actions. But then, when did the authorities ever deal consistantly with players and clubs As for the club, they cant do anything other than back their player until a jury finds him guilty. Anything other could have a bearing on any court hearing, if it goes that far. I should add, that if the bookies had not been so careless with their odds, and the referee been competent, remember the SFA had concerns about this referee's behavour, then this event probably does not happen.
-
Given goodwillie, o'connor and others have been allowed to continue to play with court appearances pending, jennings will surely be allowed to play as well.
-
you missed the main one : Some of our so called supporters are PISH
-
We know we can beat Utd. As long as the team turn up and give 100%, and dont do anything stupid at the back, then simples!
-
theyve exhausted that line, thankfully. Given my age, not be long until the cardigans and slippers start to arrive tho
-
Nothing seemed to work for the big fellow and got frustrated. Murphy wants to get involved and comes deep and leaves higdon on his own. Murphy or others need to be closer to higdon to be effective.
-
Enjoyed todays rare visit and company. Not the greatest performance, but we got the goal that was going to seperate the teams,by a player showing abit of hunger. Nice we pressie on my birthday.
-
simples: stop crosses comming into our box! Over to our full backs and wide players...

Having giants battering opponents mentality is what is holding this country back. The technical ability in this country is shocking. Kicking opponents off the park, is what Pressley has got his team doing, just like what he did, is not a approach i would like, even if it ment winning against Rangers. Obviously, Rangers had an off night, the referee allowed the aggressive nature of their opponents, and Falkirk had alot of luck. I won't happen very often.
