  1. and perform reasonably well in europe. When a team can afford to spend £4m on a striker, they aint that skint, and should be miles ahead of all but Celtic.
  2. if the players can get motivated for this, then god help us. Lets have a right go at them, as their defence is mince, and give the fans their smile back please. I would also hope that Hateley is nowhere near the midfield.
  3. is Boyle making the decisions about finance? Seems since the appointment of Weir? etc spending has been cut. Not saying it's a bad thing, just need to look at Dundee, but was wondering how much involvement does Boyle have these days.
  4. The fans mood is already on a major down. Todays result just adds fuel to that. McCall perhaps got his tactics wrong today, h**s played a belter, and our players lost the ability to mark, tackle and pass a ball. Seems to be the normal of late. Perhaps the lack of reinvestment (understandable given scottish finances) in the squad has at last bit us on the ass. As i've said only a result against Aberdeen now can perhaps save our season.
  5. aye i know. perhaps someone could rename it to RANT AWAY chaps
  6. What would the score have been had Craigan & Lasley not played? (should probably say turned up) The club owe the fans a performance and result against Aberdeen, otherwise a sub 3000 home game attendance is on the cards.
  7. wish our team was as skint as the h**s... Maybe Hutchinson should not be allowed to play at Ibrox again.
  8. when a manager gets appointed, some people take to the manager and some dont. Those, that dont will usually look to use any defeat, poor performance to criticise. Sure, it's their right, and football is all about opinions. But the Motherwell job, is hardly an easy job and any manager should be given time to try and build his own side. We have time, given how bad Accies and St Mirren are, so hows having a little patience. Football under Brown was dire, but we were fluking good results. Now, apart from today it;s been better football and worse results. Where's the logic? Craigan might be injured, but his positioning at the first goal was criminal. Hateley has not , other than a few minutes here and there, performed this season. Brown could not get the best out of him, and it looks as if McCall with limited other options has little option to continue to play him.
  9. rather than blame the manager, hows about blaming the players, and especially the experienced players. What can the manager do if the defensive players cant do the basics, i.e. tackle and mark an opponent? Performances of late have been better, although results have been poor. Today is just shambolic, just like so many previous visits to Ibrox. The defence is getting pulled all over the place, as the midfield have failed to turn up and provide cover, which is criminal given that Lasley, Jennings & Hateley are all defensively minded. Sadly, with injuries, and small squad, the likes of Craigan & Hateley who shoud be, cant be rested.
  10. Take away the old firm and their money, and we can compete at the level just below them. Much was made of Craigan's experience as he organises the defence. He aint doing that today by the looks of things, as it's school boy defending. All rushing to the ball, and allowing men to go free in the box for easy pickings. I dont know if it's a mental thing, but by god we cant play at Ibrox. This could easily end up 6 or 7 if the h**s can be bothered.
  11. defence is a shambles. so much for having the experienced player back. just as i said h**s sat back let us have the ball, then decided to go up field and score, and then score again for good measure. men versus boys.
  12. wtf? five motherwell players including craigan at right side of pitch and all fail to tackle wiese who crosses to an unmarked naysmith. what will happen now is that we will have all the ball do nothing, they will go up field when they can be bothered and score.
  13. another narrow win for the darkside. The SPL cant afford to allow Celtic to tip toe away with the league at this early stage.
  14. chin up lad, it's only a game of football that is dying on it's ass in scotland. Plenty of other more serious issues to get depressed about. Like the price of a pint!
  15. just like the appointment of O'Reilly, if a club has a problem with an official, it seems the SFA/SPL or whatever body is running the game at that time, stick their fingers up and say sod you and take that, whilst those same people making that decision question his conduct of late.
  16. you feel strongly about this eh?? we get the jist, so can you no give it a rest, or at least save some for the awful performance that Jeffers is bound to deliver at some point over the next 5 months.

    John Sutton

The big guy is a solid honest professional, who has matured into a much better player whilst he has been with us.
  18. anyone else thinking that his emails are top notch? He does not need to do it, and by doing it whether we win lose or draw is refreshing.

    The Draw

we will be the underdogs and that will suit us fine. On our day we are more than a match for Utd. i am pretty sure although they will be happy with a home draw, they wont be particularly happy to draw us. We can beat them and they know it.
  20. we won and thats all that matters in a cup game!
  21. Jeffers signing is just like Gow's signing. Neither have done anything in their careers rather than one particular spell. Alot welcomed Gow with open arms, however that gamble did not work. However, who's to say (unless you've got a crystal ball) that this gamble wont either. Time will tell.
  22. see if Casagolda was called "Casey" would it change anyones opinion? Just because he's a foreigner does not mean he has to be any good.
  23. maybe the club should form a committee to oversee the targeting and signing of players
