think i will watch more of the u19s now! at least thats free, and it's more or less going to be our first team anyhow
  2. McCall has got an impossible job if you ask me. We've lost 4 players from a squad, where we could ill afford to lose anyone. Yes, those that left had questionable ability, but trying to replace them at this stage of the season is difficult, as there wont be that many free transfers available. The chances are his wages budget is less than what Brown had to deal with.
  3. you've got to ask why? they seem to be making the same mistakes over and over again.
  4. you are right about a fine line, however, with that many individuals stating they are on the verge of turning their back on the club, can the club afford not to show even the slightest bit of ambition? As for the pitch, are the drains goosed again? Re Transfer Monies, noone expects us to buy anyone, but it would have been nice to use part of the monies to fund another player in addition to the player on reynolds wages. Thought that was the whole idea of trying to get rid of Reynolds pronto.
  5. as McCall has said he wont see the transfer monies
  6. given the amount of bookings craigan is picking up recently, i wont be long before he's resting anyhow.
  7. by the sound of things Meechan got himself involved when he came on. Will be interesting to hear the views of those at the game.
  8. tell you what we better hope Murphy goes nowhere and stays injury free, as he is our only creative player at the moment!
  9. given the abuse Fitzpatrick got and he scored an important goal, i would doubt it would shut up his critics.
  10. we've just moved Murphy away from a position where he is doing damage
  11. we are only 9 points (3 wins) above 11th with half a season left. Anything is possible. Your confidence may be miss guided, this is Motherwell you are talking about, especially as we are lacking in squad numbers and quality.
  12. forbes another excuse for another thread
  13. Craigan's timing is getting worse by each passing game. Another booking.
  14. how much money would we lose if we dropped to 11th in the league as opposed to 6th or 7th I bet its more than £100k. So aye DESPERATION
  15. Hibs got £250k for Sambo! IMO £100k is poor, and given that the money wont be reinvested into the squad, what was the point in selling him? One or two higher placings will generate more than £100k. Can we as a club replace Reynolds with £100k, if we had to go out and buy someone? doubt it very much. It smells like desperation.
  16. take a point at this stage. depressing stuff by the sounds of it.
  17. dont think they will be on big bucks.
  18. how can we expect to improve the squad, if the board of directors wont invest even a modest amount of monies? Lack of investment will eventually bite us on the bum! If they aint going to invest it in the first team, i would hope that money could be used to bolster the youths.
  19. either you or i heard wrong. I am sure he said he WONT get the transfer monies to strengthen the squad. So has the groundsmen fecked it up again? not as if we've played many matches on it recently.
  20. concerns about the state of the pitch? have they seen Ibrox, Easter Road, etc etc Until we start getting players in, starting improving performances, and the weather gets better, the attendances will continue to drop. McCall confirmed he wont see the transfer fee. He will only have his allocated wages available. So what is the point of letting him go for a pittance then? Squad is only going to get smaller and smaller by the looks of things.
  21. Pittance we could make more with him in the side. I.e cup final Makes u wonder what is going on. Rats deserting ship
  22. we are ment of have some clever financial people on our board, yet the belt is getting tighter. God knows what state we would have been in, if we had not made europe, and progressed in cups.
  23. we've got the same problem with Forbes, as we did have with Gow. Both probably best suited to play just behind the front one or two. However, we dont play that way. So what do we do? Someone commented that Pollock appeared unready for the first team. Whilst, he may be right, that's all we have outside 11 players, and if he does play, then you can be sure, he will become another whipping boy. The boy is class, but again he aint a left midfield player. years gone by that 19 and under player would have served his apprenticeship in the reserves, unless they were exceptional players. The jump from u19s to first team is huge, and given that player develope at different stages, many good players will fail, especially in front of impatient fans. Why have an u21 rule for player to sit on bench, when we dont have an u21 team? How many players are available for free at this part of the season. I reckon the best we will do is loan signings.
