  1. What's changed Special? Was it not just a month ago you posted they were telling you they were taking 5000 to Perth and were thinking they were the real deal?
  2. I wonder who our next set of fixtures in the next week/ten days sees us up against. Aberdeen, followed by.....Ohh wait!!! and then after that there's....Ahhhh right.... It's not exactly a tactic we're unfamiliar with over the years albeit its a bit more subtle since the transfer window came in and they weren't able to run with the "Celtic in for Motherwell's hoops loving, called his cat Henrik, dug Lubo, only ever wears green socks and refuses to eat carrots striker" 2 days before we play them.
  3. Aye? First I've heard of it to be honest. No mention of it on here or on the 'fishel as far I can recall. Glad he good a good turnout and hope its earned him a few quid.
  4. What is this testimonial night you speak of?
  5. I didn't hear Radio Scotland yesterday but I do think Aberdeen and the Tayside clubs certainly do well largely down to the make up of the presenters on there. There appears a disproportionate amount of Aberdeen fans that seem to be involved with Sportsound and Scotland's associated sports bulletins and it goes without saying that Jim Spence is a very beneficial ally to Dundee and Dundee Utd. We're not without our presence in the media ofcourse but we just don't have the same volume or the frequency of airtime that those sides are afforded.
  6. Well, unless the club have kicked on a little in terms of marketing and this is going to be the norm for future ticket games - seeing as they are sending out emails on a Sunday morning advertising ticket sales for the game, then it tends to suggest they are taking it seriously.
  7. I hope we win all three. But then I hope we win every game we play!! Not really a fan of the hypothetical I'd suffer a defeat or draw this game if it meant we could that game, kind of thinking. One game at a time. Think about Aberdeen, re-group and focus only on Rangers. Take care of that one and then concentrate only on Celtic.

  9. Indeed. Some Motherwell fans are stuck in 2002. Some for example would have you believe the calibre of player we have is akin to Khaled Kemas, David Cowan and Iain Russell filling the shirt and predict relegation just about every season....
  10. As well as the brief run out at Killie, I think he got about 2 minutes at Hampden after Celtic went 2-1 in the League Cup Semi Final.
  11. Talking of Andy Gray I'm sure he refers to Rowan Alexander as Rowan Atkinson at least once during the commentary of our Scottish Cup Quarter Final with Morton that Sky or BSB or whatever they were at the time.
  12. Nice one Graham. I've enjoyed the commentaries of the two home games thus far. Been good listening having the games on in the background and another wee selling point to MFC TV too.
  13. Not that it particularly matters but I think the photo with the "Thou shalt not pass" tag was set against a different Ian McLeod shot - possibly against Hearts and possibly even with the evil Walter Kidd and not quite so evil Stewart McLaren in the same shot. I think it was published in the magnificently titled "Souvenir Brochure" that was issued when we won the First Division in 1981'82. The photo Brazilian has posted I think is against Clyde from the following season. I have that brochure tucked away somewhere up the folks loft. The folks came back from that season's Player of the Year dance with most of the player photos autographed. Tommy O'Hara instantly became my favourite player by signing "To Andrew, Best Wishes, Tommy O'Hara". What a man!! A personalised autograph!!!! I think he got freed about six weeks later....
  14. I dare say its more down to the fact that on certain buses you won't be allowed a sneaky beverage or two. Not so much an issue now with the new motorway but remember some of our visits in there.in the past on buses and given the traffic jams you invariably get going to Ibrox, you'd be nearly in tears bursting for a piss by the time you get there. I've seen folk give up and get off the bus at Provan Gas works before!!
  15. I had a couple of St Mirren fans as colleagues around his time in Paisley. Curiously enough they generally cast admiring glances at our own Stephen Hughes when I cursed Dorman for another goal against us saying that Dorman was good an occasional spectacular goal but not a huge amount else in between.
  16. Whether it was Scottish Brewers or Scottish and Newcastle it was certainly in either 82/83 or 83/84 as I remember it on the Patrick strips.
  17. If it was required they always have the option of using some of the seats that are ordinarily set aside for segregation. I remember a Boxing Day game there when McGhee was in charge for example that we were actually around the corner on the touchline a wee bit. So if it was required, I think there's scope for giving us a few more tickets without actually disrupting things any. I do think live TV though will render that academic.
  18. The Colours of Rangers: Green, Whyte & (Comedy) Gold.
  19. I thought it was Johansson?
  20. Got to be the Wednesday right? Seeing as we're at Aberdeen on the Sunday?
  21. It's finding the balance though. I'll repeat what I said earlier in the thread that every deal has to be done on its own merits. We will never know what is being offered by the club and what is being demanded by a player and his agent. There will be players who never in a million years will consider tieing themselves down to a 3 year deal with an SPL club when they can get shed-loads more dough in England. There will be players who never in a million years will consider coming to an SPL club for just a single season. It could well be that if we didn't get some of these who have signed a two year deal we might never have got them at all. I'd suggest that a 2 year deal in many cases will be as good a half-way house as you are going to get between offering the player the security they want whilst retaining the opportunity for a sale if the player concerned has some sell-on value.
  22. Aye, I'd prefer to avoid Rangers myself in this round. I view their squad they have as a mid-high end ranking SPL side so there would be the same potential for difficulties as there would be getting an Aberdeen, Inverness, or St Mirren on the wrong day. But it's going to be an absolute circus for whoever the first SPL team is to get them. As Big Stall says I think you can forget all talk of boycotts they will be all out get one over on the SPL and whoever it is the play, doubtless with their media apologists hyping it up. I'd personally rather we avoided that circus for the moment. Bring them on later when focus has shaded a touch.
