He won't upset the happy clappers as he gave a generally accurate and reasoned explanation of why he believes it to be so. What he didn't, as you so often do and is partially why your opinion is often given little credence, is label a player CRAP or PANTS after seeing them for about five minutes. The fact you can't even spell the names of half the players right that you are routinely dismissing (Vigours) hardly ehances your views. If Motherwell managers adopted the same methodology as you do the likes of Phil O'Donnell might have been binned for being destroyed on his debut. Slow burners like Arnott, Martin and Corrigan would never have had the chance to develop into the excellent stalwarts they were for our club.

Don't talk shite. The play off games are up there with some of my finest moments supporting Motherwell and that includes Cup Finals, Europe and Pittodrie. Memories to be cherished and if the that week or so can be encapsulated in the form of a DVD all the better.

I've not been able to view the preview yet but how feasible would it be to incorporate some of the clips floating about YouTube post Ibrox and Fir Park. Would be ideal if they could be included in the overall package. Just let us know how much and where you want the dosh sent!

Did he not try to smuggle his pet cat into the country when he joined? Could ask him about that if you're looking for something a little more bizarre to ask.

I think the thread is fine as it is personally. Part of the fun of transfers is the speculation, gossip, the discussion of the ones that got away and the ridiculing of the ridiculous suggestions. I draw the line at the tiresome Freddie Dindeleux chat mind you Pretty grim reading if all you are going to see when you open up the apparently desired thread is... IN Joe Chalmers However if you want to start such a thread batter in. I'll even pin it for you if you want.

Even if solely to impart your expertise on the Drachten area BK, lovely to see you post again on here. A welcome return of one of the old guard!

That's a fair point, I wonder how many folk don't buy strips because they don't like the design? I just couldn't take to the home kit with the blue Zoom band for example and refused to buy that. I sheepishly gave in and bought the away kit when we got to the League Cup Final with its marginally less offensive sponsor logo. I'm pretty sure we were stuck with that home kit for 2 seasons as well. Doubtless just to spite me... Strips aside I'm hoping for a proper badge on whatever polos, training tops etc. we get this season. I was particularly pleased when Macron got the gig having seen some of the excellent stuff they produced for the Scottish rugby team. Bit more expensive yes but quality stuff. If it's another case of an embroidered Macron logo on one side and a cheap, plastic looking Motherwell badge opposite then again my cash is likely to remain in my pocket this season.

One of my favourite away tops included the sash. White strip with a claret and amber sash spoiled only by the inclusion of the Ian Skelly moniker. Produced by Matchwinner during 89/90 if I remember rightly. Classy.

Completely reasonable to want your players playing as well as they can at the highest possible level but in terms of League One I'm pretty sure he gave Lee Griffiths at least one cap whilst he was in that division with Wolves so perhaps a little inconsistency from Strachan.

Aftermath: A Few Thoughts From Abroad (And Some From Closer To Home Too)
Andy_P replied to The African's topic in Club Chat
I hope you don't mind me piggy-backing on your thread African but I was about to post this and your thread seemed a fairly appropriate spot to do so. Started off as a putting a few words down but it kind of kept going. Ach it'll pass a couple of minutes on your way to work if nothing else.... You'll be wanting your MOTM I guess. Sorry folks the celebratory beers were calling... But to business....

I'd suggest you tweet @MotherwellFC and ask the question that's your best bet for an out of hours response. Failing that you'll be on the database so keep phoning from 1000 onwards.

Is it not the fact he doesn't have time to buy another the very reason he's trying to do a swap?

Motherwell V The Rangers Spfl Playoff Final 2Nd Leg 31/05/15
Andy_P replied to Yabba's Turd's topic in Club Chat
It's been touched upon already but I'm of similar mindset that as far as the law allows our support to a man should attempt to find the balance between giving our team as much encouragement as we can possibly give whilst making it as hostile and intimidating as possible for our guests. We don't often have a numerical advantage over Old Firm teams when they come to Fir Park so we have to make sure we make the very most of it. For the officials at every decision we should be screaming blue murder at Thompson and his linesmen. It is unlikely we'll pressure then into being overly generous to us, but we have at least try to ensure they aren't bending over backwards to Rangers. As for Rangers themselves everyone of them is fair game. You would think that guys that have played in front 40,000 every week it would be water off a ducks back we know how powerful a weapon the East Stand can be on occasion. Think Andy McLaren, Kallum Higginbotham, Aiden McGeady and Brooooooooaaaaaaadffffooooooootttttt all being put off their game sufficiently to react. I would love it if come kick-off instead of nearly everyone bar the Bois in the East Stand planking their arses down we remain on our feet standing tall and giving more of the same backing the team got from the 950 last night, from the first kick of the ball til the last. Getintaethum! Getintaethum!! Getintaethum!!! -
Apologies for the poor capitalisation I'll sort that later. Your thoughts and votes please...

I personally wouldn't dismiss any gesture of goodwill from a fellow "diddy" team.

Fail to prepare, prepare to fail springs to mind here!

Probably wrongly but my perception is that there are a few things at play. You can put them in whatever order you believe is most important but as supporters we have two commitments to meet. One being that we get 2000 adult members the other the financial target. I don't get the impression that Hutchison would sell up if we happen to be £50k short or because we were sitting on 1999 adult members but I do believe he wants a clear demonstration that Motherwell supporters have bought into it. If and when it all reaches fruition I think it's not going to be the contributions or membership fees that will be sustaining the club, to me that will still be as a contingency as it is now. It is the re-structuring and investment being made now that should in time help the club reach a point of sustainability. How do they get there? Primarily player sales - which is why they've re-structured the scouting set up and invested more in player development etc. By increased sales and marketing - they spoke of an increase in the usage of facilities at FP for example over recent months. That will be developed further over time. By continually expanding the reach of the club through the Community Trust so they benefit more of the community who in turn may perceive the club in a more positive light than they do currently which in turn may mean they are recruited as fans or at least have an increased awareness of the club and in turn may be more willing to put business the club's way (for example hiring a suite for a birthday party). Ultimately if you are sceptical it's going to require something of a leap of faith for you to invest. But every new member the Trust gets and every new tenner each month in the kitty is going to help us take a step to having control of our own future and that leap of faith is still much less of gamble than waiting to see five years down the line who might want to buy the club and what their aims are.

Well this one certainly did it's best to live up to it's pre-match billing of being the shitty game that everyone just wanted out the way. In fairness I thought we had fairly decent opening and closing spells but not a huge amount in between. Could have won it, could have lost it, a draw probably fair. Thistle perhaps had most chances, but most of them were from distance. The ones we had were closer to their goal and in a game with more importance attached to it our profligacy in front of goal would have irked much more. There were more changes than I expected but it was good to see chances given to the likes of Watt, Thomas, Moore and Leitch. Twardzik looked generally accomplished in goal, Watt impressed me both at full-back and in central defence and thought Leitch did well when he came on at half-time. Craig Moore battled hard but gave a performance eerily reminiscent of Bob McHugh and Dom was pretty anonymous too. But given it was their first starts in the first team for goodness knows how long I wouldn't be taking too much from just one game. At least we didn't get beat. And it was quite sunny. Now the broon pants stuff....

Nothing was announced for Ibrox in terms of when they would go on sale or what the allocation would be but they did say for the home leg the ticket office would be open Monday - Friday 1000 - 1700 (I think it was 1700), Saturday 1000 - 1400 and up to kick off on Sunday. I think it was already announced that season ticket seats would be reserved until Friday.

First pre-season game of the 15'16 campaign.

I saw Randolph trending on twitter very briefly earlier and clicked on it to see if the chat was related to our much missed keeper. It was indeed. The first tweet beneath the story of his refusal to sign a new contract with Brum was a Partick Thistle fan in all seriousness saying he'd take him at Firhill!! "That's a right big laugh" said the Mrs a few seconds later "what are you reading?"......

The South Stand allocation was confirmed the other night at the Q&A.
