  1. They could do, but to be honest we're Motherwell so, so could St Johnstone. I think we shouldn't worry to much about the result, although a one goal defeat will be an excellent result (and if it includes an away goal or two even better).
  2. Just merging the two topics on the go regarding the game. Edited the title too to make it more recognisable.
  3. Any word on updates/score? How did our boys got on? Nowt on the 'fishal.

I doubt either will be number 1. Gannon doesn't seem to be the type of guy that will keep a number 1 keeper. Both keepers will be of the same standing and will need to earn every single appearance.
  5. Nae bother mate. Glad you enjoyed yourself even taking the result in. You also shocked me with regards to the numbers brought. Well played on that front too

I think "good hands... commands area" from CheshireCat covers cross balls mate
  7. Iraq Goals WILL have it. It remains to be seen if BBC/STV/Eurosport bother to.
  8. I thought Jennings was too eager at first, but came into it after about 10 minutes. Chased everything and never gave up. He was also the calming influence. When we received a throw in it was he who was telling the lads to slow it down, when a slack pass came through again it was him who told whoever to get his head up. Humphrey's started of very well, some lovely touches, and when he lost the ball fought to get it back. He seemed to suffer though as more and more went down the left wing!
  9. True but we have played in 4 matches that matter - will be six. Compare that to every other club in SPL? Aberdeen playing Peterhead, Hibs playing Raith and Dunfermline all in friendlies. We would have learned more losing to Llanelli and Flamurtari than any of these clubs have learned in pre-season friendlies against better opposition than who we have faced.
  10. I'll move to the Club section yeah?
  11. Totally agree. He made last night happen. Won everything that came to him. Linked well with Slane and Murphy and allowed them to play their game. Murphy up top with Sutton playing further back looked good. Wonder if we'll try it again!
  12. Add that to the many firsts we have done this season before August Just realised not one of our goal scorers are over 19. That must be a good record to keep hold aff tae
  13. Sutton for me. Immense today won everything and played in the forward hole well. Allowed Slane and Murphy the freedom to play and his link up play was fantastic. Best performance I can remember seeing from him. Special mention to Slane, Murphy and Forbes and fuck it, everyone else too
  14. Fucking amazing! Just back. Will probably have more to say tomorrow, but fuck me man! Fantastic
  15. So because you can name 10 games where Hughes played a blinder in over 68 games you think that makes him more vital (better?) than for 20(don't have the exact stats in front of me) games O'Donnell showed up, controlled the midfield and went about his business without the need to be a fancy Dan makes him less important? The one player we have not replaced in 1.5 seasons under McGhee (and now Gannon maybe?) was O'Donnell. Funny how the not so important central midfielder has not been replaced but we've struggled last season, with Hughes especially struggling to recapture that form. I would, if possible ask you to watch every game from August to December of 2007 and you'll see O'Donnell with lack of fitness (although I think he was probably our fittest Midfielder at the time - if you ignore the niggling injuries but for energy, stamina etc.) and all calling the shots from midfield, without getting much attention from the media for it.
  16. Yet last season Sutton was one of the top 10 strikers in the SPL but he's only average in Motherwell terms? We're onto a winner than as most other clubs don't even have an average striker then? Of course he won't fire us into the top six on his own, hell Porter, Clarkson, McFadden, Scott McDonald or McCormack on their own couldn't score enough on their own to get us into the top six, never mind Sutton. Sutton along with one other (or maybe two others) can fire us in the Top Six. In fact, if Sutton plays over half of the games in the league, I bet he'll make it into the top 10 again goal scorers again.
  17. Unless he signed a new contract in the last few weeks he is out of contract.
  18. That's my team if Saunders doesn't play. If he does move O'Brien up and move Humphrey to the bench.
  19. I agree. Craigan is m favourite player but if we're playing a 4-2-3-1 I would much rather have a Dailly/Alexander figure sitting in front of my defenders. Has Dailly re-signed for Rangers?
  20. Don't agree. There is one reason why we went from running away with third before Christmas to struggling over the line by May - The loss of Phil O'Donnell and I don't just mean his death and the aftershock that followed. If he had not died and was playing on the park, or we had someone of his footballing ability, with the ball and the footballing brain we would have got third at a canter. McCormack in November/December, Clarkson and Porter once again have to take much of the credit too, as they didn't receive much help firing us to Europe from our attacking midfielder maestro.
  21. Yes both are English. Hutchison comes from the same club where Alan Shearer, Peter Beardsley, Alan Thompson, Michael Carrick and many more "big" names started. Unfortunately Hutchison has not made it onto their former players section.
