Cup Winners' Cup/UEFA Cup/Europa league are bigger stage than the Premier League/SPL mate
-
Various reasons. Just wanting to go to the big games?
-
There are no perfect ways. The thing is, I don't know how much it happens at Motherwell but like you lean towards some people could by a Season Ticket just to go to the big games (it happens at the Old Firm, the Edinburgh two and it certainly happens with a large portion of SSC members). I agree with your thinking but it's not possible. Take Scotland for example should a guy who pays £40 to join the SSC and doesn't go to any game except the big game (ala Holland) deserve that ticket more than someone who has gone to all the Scotland Quals and Friendlies in the last two seasons? I would say no, and although the SFA/SSC can deal with this easier than Motherwell can they don't. So I don't expect Motherwell to come up with away.
-
But since we have had half a dozen or something away games in Europe. Why should those people get higher priority to those who a) Were not born on our first trip, but have been to every home, away competitive and friendly game for the last few years b) been to every game but could not get to europe due to family commitments c) couldn't make it any European game due to health reasons (ok struggling now) but went to all competitive and friendly home and away matches. Season Tickets already get the benefit of first shot at any "High Priority" tickets. Why split the Season Ticket Holders into sub groups. Hell the auld yins on here could come on and claim I have supported the 'Well for x, y z longer than a, b, and c so should deserve as many tickets as they could use than a, b and c. Doesn't work like that as you split the support even more than from the accepted Season Ticket/Non-Season Ticket Holders.
-
That would not be possible to do fairly unless all Home and Away games became all ticket.
-
Do they? I have never had to register for going to Hibs, Aberdeen, Dundee United in the past. The only register Motherwell FC will have if it is all ticket and you had to hand over details, and I know the last time I bought a Hibs ticket I didn't hand any info over. So someone goes to those foreign countries but then decides the Premier League/SPL away matches are not good enough for them/can't afford it means they should get first pickings? Naw think not. The best bet is the good old ballot if there is not enough tickets for the Season Ticket Holders. Then if there is any left after that goes onto first come, first serve General Sale.

Taking a look at the article it seems to apply that only the top 4 sides are safe if Setanta goes tits up and we don't get a replacement. I tell ye, there is no way in hell Hearts or Aberdeen are "safe" if we have no TV Deal. I don't think it meant last seasons league positions but more that the top 4 as in size and ability to take financial hits etc.
-
Not really. That's like worrying that Buzz isn't going to be between the sticks yet he played like 140 odd games in the last four seasons for us while Fraser and Meldrum don't get near that, with neither playing for us last season.
-
That to me is a strong enough starting XI, granted have a few injuries then we're in trouble. The good news is if we get past Llanelli we have till now and 10 July 2009 to find more players to add to our squad. We're very lucky as our Home Grown lot well surpass our in take lot

Like I actually meant it Also you do know you can quote only part of my post. No need to use bold...

If Motherwell lose over two legs to Llanelli then we should just pack up shop and forget about entering the Europa League every again. We should declare that if we end in a position to play in the Europa League we will pass it to the next club down. Saying that I don't think it is going to be easy. Yes we'll be giving a Keeper a debut for Motherwell, but it's not like he has never played professional football before. And in fact he would have had tougher tests than Llanelli. Saying that, I don't think it will be easy but they should be no real trouble over two legs.

He was reserve team manager under McClaren at Boro. He was then moved to Assistant Manager under Southgate. He was released this summer.

Fao Flow Or Anyone Who Saw Training Today
Wellfan1984 replied to dougie arnotts barmy army's topic in Club Chat
Nah Ice Rink would not have said anything nice about Craigan He's a legend. I don't know if anyone caught Sportsound at the weekend? Well someone phoned and asked him would he be doing Open All Mics when Motherwell sack him as Manager. Unfortunately I missed what his answer was. Loved Open All Mics when he was on it, shame we lost almost every week though as he wasn't playing -
When did Ricky Sbragia put his name forward for the job
-
Melvin Bragg's domestics going into the public domain
-
It has also been posted a couple of pages back. So is that the First or Second kit since Fraser was holding up an aqua blue number. Can just imagine Fraser's reaction when past that thing with his name and number on the back...
-
Fantastic. And linking to this site as well. I think we'll need to return the favour.
-
Yeah reading it again I think that is what he's talking about. How confident must you feel when your own board are worried the tie will be finished after the first let. Poor Reds!
-
What you mean we don't do it every season Oh and it is unlikely unless BBC Wales picks it up that the game will be on TV...
-
Depends when his contract runs out. But I was with you. I'm sure 'Flow or anyone who took a look at the Training today can give us a heads up
-
So I am looking at it. Our Squad will be unless something changes in the GK department.. GK None (The Polish kid and Melly???) Defenders Stephen Craigan Stephen Hammell Mark Reynolds Paul Quinn Steven Saunders Jonathan Page Shaun Hutchison Midfield Marc Fitzpatrick Darren Lee Smith Stephen McGarry Keith Lasley Jim O'Brien Strikers David Clarkson John Sutton Jamie Murphy *Those in italics = Home Grown. Who do you think we'll name for the other ten possibles?
-
That was 12 years ago! As long as we win by more at home like Barcelona did
-
I have a feeling they'll need to re-register Meldrum (according to SPL he was registered last season) as I don't think we can register keepers that are not signed up with the club, unless Buzz is putting pen to paper at this very moment....
-
Yes. The Squad of 25 must be named by 11pm tonight for the First Round. A full list of dates are 22 June 2009 11pm - 25 players - First Round 10 July 2009 11pm - 25 players - Second Round 24 July 2009 11pm - 25 players - Third Round 10 August 2009 11pm - 25 players - Playoff Round 1 September 2009 11pm - 25 players - Group Stages 8 of the 25 players must be locally trained. If a club can not fill that quota then the club lose the right to register the full amount by the amount they are missing. You can also remove one player and add one player up to 11pm of the day before the match - aslong as they could play in your domestic league at that time. There is also a B list which makes no sense to me so meh!

It would be stupid to book anything until at least after the First Leg with Llanelli.
