Eddie May has done wonders as Falkirk Youth Coach. Although Hughes seems to have taken the credit of spotting Barr and Arfield etc. potential, it was all because of Eddie May. Saying that, no than you.

I still remember many a time the chorus' of "Tommy, Tommy get tae fuck" that was a frequent occurrence at Fir Park when I was a youngling. In fact as a youngling going to the football it was one of the first songs I knew... Now he is classed as a legend, no one can doubt that really, but then he was not the most favoured person at Fir Park.

Noticed Coutts has signed for Montrose Also noticed Willie Falconer has left his position as a Youth Coach... returning home to Aberdeen maybe?
-
To correct myself it turns out it is 6 games in each period
-
Nah I think I'll be happy to give anyone a chance, no matter who it is... as long as it is not Terry Butcher/Maurice Malpas
-
After each 8 or 9 games the team that is top of the league (over those 9 games - not overall) is given a playoff place. So technically you could win your first 9 games (or even 7 and two draws) then lose every other game and end bottom but still have a place in the promotion playoffs. Do you never play Football Manager?
-
Actually they are. Hmmm the season Nijholt isn't there is their worst season of them all...
-
To be honest I hope to see even more with the new guy. It means he is doing his job well.
-
Why the hell would a guy like Hughes be good for us? - His football is excellent to watch aslong as his team stay in their own half - He wasted the largest budget out of all the teams below us - signing McBride, Bullen etc. - He then wasted an extra amount on Lovell and Elvis doubling the amount the like of ICT, Hamilton and St Mirren had to spend - He survived relegation on the last day of the season because of ICT having a man sent off and a fantastic save by mallo - He refused to change tactics for 75% of the season despite them no working - While Falkirk were rock bottom he tried to get out by whoring himself to every job that came up in England

Aye I am sure Collins taking them aside and showing them his six pack will do wonders for our Under 17's/19's. Sure his ability as a manager done wonders for Hibs too...
-
Reading the last paragraph I would not be shocked if the SPL nor the SFA (for Scotland games) failed to take out the guarantee...

I have merged all Manager topics into the large almost 20 page topic. Please, I know it is silly season but can we try and keep the discussion in one place or we will be saying the same thing in multiple threads. Also, on Lennon - No, no no no no and no! on Craigan - Great player but 1. I think his heart is set on TV and 2. I would hate for his reputation with me, and many other Motherwell fans be ripped apart because of his failure as a manager as he was thrown in the deep end. Don't mind him becoming a full time coach or Assistant though
-
Mark McGhee had never managed at the top level though unti us? And as has been pointed out neither did he have a 100% great CV. although that tends to happen if you win promotion with clubs you manage. Gannon is a well respected manager down south, and only the fact Stockport went broke ended his career there. At least give the guy (whoever it is) the first month of the season before judging him. Like I said depends on the Russia result. If they win then write him off. If not then there is all possibility of him looking for away out of Finland as there would be no way back.
-
Why? What the hell have you got against any of them or Motherwell FC that you would turn you back on the club?
-
No way in hell is Stuart Baxter going to come to Motherwell when he is so close at doing something with Finland that no other manager ever has. Finland are third 2 points behind Russia who are second with the Russians to play in Helsinki on Wednesday. Saying that, if they lose then maybe have a chance, but if Finland win that match then there is no way in hell he's going to give up on the chance of being the first man to lead Finland to the World Cup.

Done, poll added with as many named names as I could possibly remember. Sorry if I missed any.

Aberdeen fans think they have Leitch too, but I don't see anything in the press about it. Leitch was a Boyle appointment while Malpish was manager. Can't see it being two for one tbh. I think Leitch will still be here. Unfortunately I can see Boyle offering Leitch the Manager's job, and although it won't be too bad if we get an experienced Manager/Coach as his number one (like Auld Broony perhaps) it could be a good appointment.
-
Is that not because he was a higher standard than most managers we have had? I don't see people moaning at Terry Butcher when he left us up shit creek with Malpish! Is that because we knew there were better managers than Butcher out there for us? Unfortunately we had a season of Malpish before that happened
-
Just to point out they go into the Third Round. So that is two rounds after us. Why? Why the fuck would you want someone who has taken Falkirk, in the league backwards. Was given a huge budget at the start of the 2008/09 season and survived on the last game of the season, then came out and moaned that the Falkirk Board won't give him the same size of budget. You think McGhee's comment about not caring what the fans think was bad, did you see what Hughes did! He demanded action be taken by the Board on the Falkirk Supporters Club because they dared to question him because he used Falkirk's substantial budget to sign Lee Bullen, Kevin McBride and Elvis! I'm all for signing a guy who wants to use us as a stepping stone, but for fuck sake Hughes has been in the papers, on the radio and TV Interviews saying he wants to be Swansea Manager. After failing to land the Blackpool job...
-
No it means people have forgotten Aberdeen are up shit creek without a paddle financially. Every year The Stewart Milne Group has to guarantee their loans. Aberdeen are a mess of a football club, and if they move into a Council run Stadium any time soon it will be even worse.
-
The thing is, Aberdeen don't have an Assistant Manager or a First Team Coach so if he took Leitch then he wouldn't be putting anyone out of a job.
-
Gannon has been linked with the Hibs job. Last week Ladbrokes suspended betting on him. Nothing seems to have happened since then though. Would be an excellent choice, but like McGhee he is a manager that would look for a bigger move if it became available, and no doubt would perk many clubs interests if he joined us after a while. So yeah, he would be a perfect appointment.
-
I like Chisholm. Not sure he's ready for the step up. Ian McCall just has some sort of stigma attached to him, a lot of it unfair but I don't see us fans giving him the chance to prove us wrong.
-
Just bumping this so people don't miss it. Anyone but Hughes of Falkirk, Terry Butcher/Malpas and Blooby Williamson would be a start

There is already a thread opened to discuss this. I'm going to close this
