That Motherwell fans get all high and mighty when Rangers and Celtic play in half empty stadiums because their fans can't be arsed watching a League Cup or Scottish Cup game but then because it's not a a big match the Motherwell fans do the same thing. I think that is probably what she can't understand. I wait till next season to see all those "Am naw going cause we're pish/playing Falkirk/blah" (delete as appropriate) make comments regarding the Old Firm fans and their exact same stance. SteveDiggle, we've been acting like Old Firm fans for at least a few seasons now. We were not scoring because Porter was missing at least three sitters a game. What makes you think a striker that scored 9 goals in 22 games (three of them against the worst defence in the league) would have made a difference against Aberdeen, Dundee Utd or Hearts, where one who has played 28 and score 8 wouldn't? The reason we are not looking down on teams in mainly because our strikers prior to Christmas, headed and the worst culprit by a country mile, Porter were not worth their wages.

What we need A Goal Scoring Midfield to replace the "Class" of Hughes. There must be some player doon in the First Division that would take a crack at goal as soon as he hits the 30 yard mark and will at least 4 times out of 50 get it on target.

Is he not still our top goal scorer outside of our strikers. Doesn't say much for Hughes & co.

Especially one that barring two seasons has been with us since his early teens His substitutions were not too long in coming, when St Midden scored we were on top. I didin't see it and I'm sure McGhee didn't see Reynolds setting up Midden for their goal coming anytime soon. McGhee is by far the best manager we have had for nigh on 20 years, he is also the best manager in the SPL. But saying that if you're old enough I bet you were one of the thousand that demanded McLean was sacked week in week out so I guess McGhee is in good company.

Agree that Aberdeen are not a better option than Motherwell, or McGhee is unlikely to end up at Aberdeen before the end of his contract at Motherwell or at the end of Calderwood's? Yes of course.

So are Hearts and Hibs, as are Dundee United, they're still not going to achieve much more than what Motherwell can.

Yep. If we're within 5 points of 4th spot and make the top six I will be doon the bookies putting money on us reaching Europe, as I think we have what it takes to chase them down. United are the ultimate bottlers while Aberdeen don't look too hot that the moment. First and foremost though we need to make the top six.

1. Aberdeen don't have the finances to pay off Calderwood 2. Aberdeen don't have the money to pay Motherwell for McGhee 3. Aberdeen's budget is not much bigger than ours as they are on a tight leash with the Bank. 4. McGhee has already distanced himself from Hibs, rejected Hearts and has already said will only leave if a better option came in. Apart from playing for them, McGhee has no real affiliation with Aberdeen. I honestly believe that the only SPL clubs McGhee will leave us for are Rangers or more likely Celtic. I really don't get where people see these other mid-table clubs as better options that Motherwell.

The pressure for results at the moment of time are on us, but I would say Mixu and Hibs team have more pressure on them than McGhee and Motherwell do to reach the top six altogether to be honest.

Where was that from? I heard North Lanarkshire Council had refused their repayment structure and one SPL club (I hope Clyde survive but I hope to god we're not the SPL Club) and two SFL clubs have offered their stadium for next season. Great to hear Clyde have secured their short term future though
