  1. The problem isn't us sitting back per say, it's the fact we don't have a single player in defence that can organise the defence to make it a workable tactic. If we could do that even basic component of defending we could easily sit back and play on the counter - and against a team like Aberdeen it would be such an easy game as they're not a very good side, certainly not as good as the media have stated recently, or some of the people on here.
  2. In before the usual crap about MJC predicting us to actually win. For the record I agree with the score and goal scorers.
  3. Wasn't a foul during the game. Isn't a foul now (the IFAB are not going to meet for a few months now, and unless I missed it taking away "keeper protection" in the air is not on the agenda). The Only reason this is being discussed and he has been hit with a 2 game ban, as those that are expected to promote our game have no idea the rules and what is and isn't allowed.
  4. 4-1. No contest. Higdon x2, Murphy and Ojamaa with the goals
  5. Of course he did. But any contact between the two if the keeper gathered the ball (which he did) should have either resulted in a free kick to the keeper or playing advantage towards the keeper. All in all, it leads back to Randolph facing a two match ban for breaking no laws, and technically being fouled.
  6. There was NO foul. FFS referee called it 100% spot on. Any keeper is told as long as you do not use your studs, when you're going for a ball in a 50/50 (and not so 50/50 (as Paterson had no chance getting that ball)) protect your body by any means necessary. Referee got it spot on - sad those in the stands and in the media do not even realise this
  7. Funny how teams perceive themselves. Aberdeen and ICT are have excellent season but we're having an average (and if you believe Sky - a below average) season yet we're on the same amount of points as Aberdeen, and one behind ICT
  8. Just came in to say the same thing....
  9. Wasn't a foul at the time. Isn't a foul now.
  10. TBH Because lying about the state of the game "makes it better". It is how the Premiership went from a meh, it's OK to supposedly the best league in the world, which if anyone who has ESPN knows it's not even in the top 3 that they show for entertainment or technical quality.
  11. If I'm not mistaken Hearts continue to fail to win two games on the trot in the league. Won't change this week either. 3-1 us. Ojamaa, Higdon and Murphy for us. Dodgy defending leading to their goal.
  12. We should be offering ALL first team players under the age of 24 a contract worth at least the same that they are on now. If we don't they'll walk for free, if we do we'll get money from them. It's how the Bosman/Development Laws work....
  13. All we have to do is keep on doing what we're doing. ICT come out more, we "should" smack them for 4 to 6. Too often we've countered other teams by dropping back. Continue to dominate possession and "out football" them is the way you win against poor sides like that.
  14. Hit the bar now. We could really give them a going over if we keep this up. Higgy bossing their defence.
  15. If he can't shoot with either foot, don't hold out much hope with anyone else in our squad does it, since he's our top goalscorer, and was last season too. We're Doomed!
  16. I wouldn't say youngsters don't get a chance. ZFA, Cummins, Hetherington and Carswell not to mention Hutchinson have all featured in regular intervals. Then you add some of our other regulars are under 25, like Hateley, Randolph, Law, Ojamaa, Murphy and Humphrey.... Contracts are a worry, and so is the fact that for a selling club, we have only managed to sell two players in our history for over £1m (one in the 90's and one in the 00's) it is very pathetic, compared to well probably every-other selling club at our level doing it more regularly.
  17. Merged the two topics and also made it the game chat thread in the title if that's OK.
  18. No and no from me. Which is a shame as at U21 level 9/10 he was a class above anyone in his team or hell even the otherside (which not many can say).
  19. Saturday 1st or Sunday 2nd December
  20. For selfish reasons.... Livingston. If not, one of the non-league sides left
  21. Would ticket prices reduce if we had an outstanding TV package? Or would teams sign players on even more wages, and even increase ticket prices - ala England....
  22. Wait you're praising Butcher for his celebration when winning, and then bemoaning McCall for shrugging his shoulders in defeats. Is that not comparing Apples and Oranges? Of course if McCall showed no passion and refused to celebrate our win against St Johnstone in the Scottish Cup you'll probably then have an argument. Also, if I remember rightly Butcher used to take one hell of a slagging on here and on the other forum for his Old Firm stance of "meh"
  23. Surely officiating stats is more important than the win, lose, draw colounm says depending on a referees performance. For example, questionable yellow and red cards, penalties for and again, penalties that were but not given, etc. etc. For the record I don't think he is bias, just totally inept. Not nice to ask for people being sacked and that but if I was as bad at a job I did, I certainly wouldn't be asked to do another one (taking the Assistant with him)...
  24. 3-2 us. Easy ride for 75 minutes before our arse has a minor collapse!
