Henrik Larsson, he'd get a few guys on loan from Celtic and probably has decent connections around Europe, would have the respect of the players + he should be able to get more out of our forwards.Doubt it would cost much to get him off the Swedish minnows (if he's still there).

A couple of games at most.We're not in a position where we can be giving somebody 2/3 months if it's not really working.If he starts with a couple of good results then keep him but if we're just as shite then get somebody in during the next international break and give them a couple of weeks before their first game.

Same here, people are picking Law out while ignoring the fact that SH was just as bad if not worse.His crossing and passing were Strakeresque at times.Marvin Johnson had another poor game, nothing came off for him apart from the goal and his decision making was dire at times.Starting to wonder if those few games towards the end of last season were just a flash in the pan because he's been sh1te so far this season, Thomas is worth a start at St Johnstone in my opinion.Oh and McDonald is wasted in midfield.

We could be stuck in a relegation battle by then or worse, cut adrift at the bottom.If we're in the bottom 2 after 8 games then we should be thinking about sacking him, the first 5 were always tricky looking but if we can't pick up a couple of wins in the next 3 then yes he can gtf.

From midfield forward we were good at times without finding the net but defensively both teams were all over the place especially in the second half.If we defend like that every game then we'll lose more than we win because we won't create as many chances against more solid back fours.It made for a decent game though and there were contenders for save of the season and miss of the season.

Reading just got a 100k fine for something similar, hopefully ours won't be as severe.

It's a nice thought but outwith Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs, Utd and Dundee none of the other teams would take anywhere near an extra 1000 to these games unless they were important (relegation decider, cup quarter final etc).Even a 50% off voucher which I doubt the club could afford long term would likely only add an extra 100-200 to away crowds.

I saw 4/5 Preston and Aberdeen games last season and imo Aberdeen are better than them.They have a couple of decent forwards but the rest of their team isn't much better than ours.

Not sure you can call them a decent championship side when they were just promoted to the championship last season.Sounds like we created plenty of chances against a side that is probably mid table SPFL standard so a few positives.

Because the Irish league is p1sh and their teams have lost pretty much every friendly against Scottish teams so far, if we can't beat a part time Irish team then alarm bells should be ringing whether it's a friendly or not.

If we don't beat them easily then i'd be a bit worried.

We've got 3 strikers so it's not really a priority, we need a goalie more.

He's still one of the best forwards at SPFL level imo, if he gets a full season he'd be in the high teens for goals and that's not all he offers as he showed against Rangers.

Pretty irrelevant for us probably but I think it's 1st in the cl qualifying rounds, 2nd/3rd and cup winners into the Europa early qualifying rounds.If somebody who's already in a European place in the league wins the cup then the runner up no longer gets into it as far as I know, another place would go to the league so if Celtic or whoevers 2nd/3rd wins the cup then 4th gets a Europa place.

Not sure about that, he was decent at a higher level than either of those 2 have played at.

Dundee Utd got pumped 4-0 by Vitesse the other day, they must be worse than us or maybe St Johnstone can challenge for the title since they held Real Sociedad to a 0-0.

I'm hoping to be in the latter but expecting to be in the bara out camp by mid season.A couple of big wins against 2 of the least on form sides in the league and the 2 Rangers games apart it's fair to say he's been shite so far.I'm happy enough to start the season with him but a poor run at the start is to be expected and i'm not convinced that he'll turn it round if we're near the bottom after that tricky run of games.

Based on....? Not meaning to sound so pessimistic but we've signed a couple of conference players, a forward who was released by Dundee, a youth from Celtic and a cb who was part of some shocking defensive performances last season.Not exactly the most exciting signings and looking at what we started last season with we have a far weaker squad now and even with another 2/3 signings it'll be no stronger than what we had last season.Not saying we'll be relegated but a top half finish is pretty optimistic in my opinion.

Lets not forget that Laing, Long, Grant etc were in the team for some of our worst performances in recent years.Just because they had a couple of good games at the end of the season doesn't mean they'll be good enough to get us further up the league this time.In my opinion the standard of players we're going for aren't any better than what we had and anything above 11th would be a good season.

If we're not bottom after 5 games it's a decent start.

Not had a look through every teams games but our fixtures look like just about the worst in the league. 4 of our first 5 against top half teams from last season, 1 home game in 6 weeks up to Nov 7th, hard run before the split, Accies away twice, away games over Christmas, pish!

Not sure being mobile is one of Suttons attributes, he's decent at SPL level but he shouldn't be that hard to replace.Any half decent forward should get into double figures.

Anyone else a bit impatient to see some signings. We needs 5/6 players in minimum and it would be better having most of them in by the time pre season starts.
