  1. Looks like you and I will have to agree to disagree on that issue. Getting back to the bigger picture/perspective issue I'm sure you'll notice the posts on the match threads the day after the game are less emotive and most of us gain a sense of perspective. I'm sure if we take 6 points from Hearts/Accies everyone will breathe easier although it may again increase the expectancy levels. Will we finish top 6 this season ? tough to call on current form probably not but lets wait and see what January brings, my personal opinion top 6 would be fecking great but i'll accept SPL survival.
  2. Which sometimes created more problems than was solved , often he was right on Reymolds' shoulder when if he were less interested he would have been further up in the channel providing the outball. Sorry Jimbo Rock and a Hard place is a bitch to deal with. When Humphrey came on we looked like we might create something, something worth considering is that Yass seems to have an issue with crosses where when he was playing the through ball to Humphrey there was a marked improvement in the quality of ball into the box.............but the guy most likely to get on the end off them was the man he replaced , again Rock and Hard place. (amazin how perspective can change the day after the game)
  3. My point is that the fans have a right to express thier dissatisfaction with performances such as that today, which I'm sure we can agree was at the very least poor. As for the work in progress that concept is not beyond me no,however at the moment it appears to many to be one step forward and two steps back. This may well be down to the fact that we started the season brightly and in doing so perhaps the expectation level is a little bit high. And finishing in 3rd would indeed generate bigger crowds as was proven by the signifcant upturn in season ticket sales after finishing 4th and embarking on our " european tour ", it could also be argued that the recent poor run of results is reponsible for the lower than average gate today.
  4. If you read my post you'll note I answered the question asked, at no time did I say Booing has a positive effect, however what positive effect does a performance like today have on our ability to generate bigger crowds and a succesful football team ?
  5. Whatever else you may say about Sutton he worked hard today and won almost all of the aerial battles, sadly no one was alert to his knock downs or it could have been a different story, for that he got my vote.
  6. Because today we witnessed the net result of JGs fucking about with the team selection which was today baffling to say the least, not sure what formation it was supposed to be, lets look at the substitutions , Craggs was having a 'mare and lasted 90 mins Las and O brien having good games and get hooked , we were 1 nil up and should have pressed home our advantage instead we came out 2nd half and before any of our players got going we were 2-1 down. Today was the worst performance I've seen all season so if people who forked out thier hard earned to turn up and freeze there bits off want to Boo not only a defeat but a piss poor performance then Boo away.
  7. Does anyone else think there's a good chance the game will be off because of the weather conditions ? Perhaps not because of the pitch itself but the authorities may look at travel difficulties and safety of fans.
  8. Daily Retard story runs along the same lines, but this caught my eye, , The Reds gaffer said: "You don't need permission to speak to players, it is a courtesy. We are now attempting to persuade Jim to sign a pre-contract that would see him join us in the summer. surely its tapping up which is forbidden by league rules. http://www.scotprem.com/content/mediaasset...k%202009-10.pdf Approach to, by or in relation to Registered Players D8.1 Except during the last 6 months of the term of a Player’s Contract of Service, no Registered Player may be approached, either in person or through or by an agent or other third party, by or on behalf of another Club with a view to that Player entering into a Contract of Service with and/or becoming a Player of that other Club without the permission in writing of the Club for which the Player is Registered being first obtained. Mutley was first banging on about this before our game with them in November which based on the season ending in May and its reasonable to presume players contracts run till the end of a particular season is at least 7 months and therefore illegal
  9. Fair play to you all some crackin teamsheets there, but who would you have as Manager/Coach
  10. Wouldn't want him even if we were paid to take him, quite psossibly the most overrated player of the last decade. If he was so good why didn't the Smelic snap him up ?l
  11. Is this the same people who were singing songs glorifying a terrorist organisation ? Imagine if football fans sang pro Al Qeada /Taliban Songs how much of an outcry would there be ? EDIT. Lets not forget the chants of "Who's the Mason in the red?"
  12. Some amount of fishing going on in here. Is this to stop us dwelling on yesterdays result ?
  13. Utterly Humped, its been coming, yet again we allow another team to dictate the play stand off them when they're attacking and only put in tackle in the final third. Schoolboy stuff, play the game higher up the park, tackle for the ball and close players down. As someone else has said last weeks scoreline flattered to deceive. Oh well pick ourselves up, dust ourselves down and lets look to boxing day against the real saints.
  14. C'mon now Steve even Santa cant get us a fair crack of the whip when the Old Scum comes to town , I haven't heard as to whether the stewards had the Brass neck to tell any of our own regular standers to sit down during that game ,that would certainly be hypocrisy of the worst kind.
  15. Lets not be too optimistic here, save 1st or 2nd for next season
  16. And what have you asked him for this year ?
  17. I sent an email to Leeann Dempster and had a reply the next day
  18. From the squad profiles on Evertons fishal site he seems to be 4th choice at goodison "John joined Everton in the summer of 2005, for a fee of £250,000. He had impressed at his previous club, Cambridge United, making 39 appearances in League 2 despite being only 18 when he made his professional debut. He joined an impressive goalkeeping ranks at Everton, that included England internationals Nigel Martyn and Richard Wright. He soon went out on loan to then-League 1 outfit Walsall and also completed a spell at Chester that same season. Ruddy returned to Everton and made his debut in the February in unusual circumstances. Third choice keeper Iain Turner started the game against Blackburn, deputising for the injured Richard Wright and Nigel Martyn. Turner was dismissed after just eight minutes for deliberate handball and Ruddy was thrust into the fray. He managed to keep a clean sheet in a 1-0 Everton victory. At the start of the 2006/07 season Ruddy enjoyed a successful loan spell at Stockport County and also made appearances for Wrexham and Bristol City, picking up vital experience along the way. In the 2007/08 season, the youngster was an unused sub in the Premier League on a number of occasions when Tim Howard and Iain Turner were injured. He then got the chance to return to Stockport on loan and won the League Two player of the month award for March - keeping five clean sheets in six games."
  19. People, can everyone please get a sense of perspective here before this thread degenerates any further. Nijholts "Fucking Idiots" line was a bit harsh and probaly typed in the heat of the moment similar to some of us posting straight after a game. Leeannes post whilst you have to applaud her for defending her staff so passionatley could have been a bit more tactful and probably again heat of the moment and reactive. In the grander scheme of things there are many many unsung heroes on the non playing staff at the club who work thier arses off for us. Perhaps this was not the best way to air this grievance, maybe a wee email to the club or to leeane would have been better, however whats done is done lessons to be learned (have been learned ).
  20. Petulance from Aiden whingy wanker McGeady ? Who would have thought it ? I'm just surprised the refs tolerate the wee nyaff as much as they do, I think I'd be tempted to kick his arse all the way to the dug outs never mind yellow/red cards.
  21. I know this might be a leap too far for the without bus fare brigade, could he maybe have been happy with his teams performance and the commitment and effort of his young players or that we scored 2 goals against the current league leaders who though it pains me to say it played some bloody good football today although admittedley we made it easier at times.
  22. I thought we started slowly and as many have said had our best spell in the latter part of the first half. Throughout the game Hinkell and McGeady were given way too much space with Meechan looking like he was trying to mark the two of them. I can't understand why we insist on giving opposing players so much space, we don't seem to tackle or challenge players until they get close to the 18 yard line, that's where we could make a massive difference. I don't know where these so called stonewall penalties have come from I certainly didn't see cause for any penalties and the ref allowed the game to flow . Perhaps we should remember we are a young side who are still developing their skills but have bucketloads of heart and enthusiasm. A top 6 finish would be a great achievement for a side who were predicted for relegation at the start of the season , we have come a long way from the side which was decimated in the summer.
  23. Still waiting with baited breath, I think JG is just tryng to ensure a good turn out on thursday !
  24. Thats exactly the objective Mutley set out to achieve, unsettle the player and get the fans to turn on him, manipulative toss pot that he is
