  1. To be fair to the club, there was never going to be a good time to do this. They are geting criticised for launching this just after Christmas, but what really is the alternative? Wait until the summer when we will have season tickets and potential European jaunts to pay for? Currently going through the process of buying my first house so cash (or the misses) won't allow me to part with £300 simply to sit in 'Well's bank account. It is a great idea, just not something I'm able to get involved in at the moment. Also (not that I would) but would you be able to sell your share if ye wanted? Or is it pretty much a donation?
  2. Anyone got any idea of how much it's costing to get in? I don't think season tickets will be able to be used because they counted for the hibs game. Any ideas? Sorry if it's already been covered. Scott
  3. Lot of people on here getting their frillies in a twist. If you have a voucher or a season ticket, ye'll get in.
  4. Went up for a nosey at it today. Here's some pix for those who haven't had a chance.
  5. didn't see it before the game and stuck my head round to have a gander after it. Not my personal taste, also don't think the alternate yellow and red light bulb does it any favours either. Looks completely out of place, the positioning of it looks a bit random as well.
  6. On my way back at the moment on the train from Aberdeen. Firstly, congratulations to the players and Stuart for a superb result. We could have crumbled today, and almost did if the first half is anything to go on, but we kept at it and got two goals from two shots. Big praise has to go to Omar Daly who I thought was the difference. He showed his class on several occassions and it highlighted the big difference between a pacy player with a football brain, and, well, Humphrey. Down points for me was another inaffectual showing from Jamie Murphy. You just want to give him a good shake. I'm not sure what it is, whether a lack of confidence and belief, the fact he's maybe a bit of a wee fearty, or perhaps a combination. He has great potential but is in danger of his career stalling. I also thought Nicky Law had another game that he drifted in and out of, and if it wasn't for Jennings dictating play in the centre of midfield Aberdeen would have run right over the top of us. As for the carry on in the stands, it's clear that the police and stewards at Pittodrie were heavy handed to say the least. Well over a dozen Motherwell fans appeared to be tossed out the ground, but to my knowledge I don't think any actually got lifted. Some of the people involved certainly didn't help themselves, but the vast majority seemed to be guilty of simply trying to give vocal backing to their team. I've not seen an atmosphere like that in an away end outwith Ibrox or Parkhead in a long time, and I would be interested to see if the club are going to make inquiries into the treatment of the away support. However, trying not to draw away from what was a tremendous three points. I can almost hear the Champions League music. Viva Motherwell
  7. Would also like to warn everyone that proceedings become active in a case from someone's arrest, so anyone commenting on this will be at risk of prosecution if anything is said out of turn. Just be careful guys.
  8. He has been arrested along with another eight people and it's in relation to the Motherwell game alone. Quite perplexed as to how some people could think other games are involved when commenting on a statement that says only the M'well Hearts game was involved. As far as I'm aware he was arrested in a dawn raid, and was taken down to Liverpool first thing for questioning. I'll be surprised if the club, quite understandably, say nothing at the moment and the club's lawyers will no doubt want to have a word with Jenno and his representatives before a decision is reached. He is innocent until proven guilty, howeve it will be interesting to see what happens as the alleged offence took place while he was carrying out his job, which makes it incomparable to anything else we've really seen before.
  9. Agree with that. Thought he looked a genuine threat for most of it, after looking terrified to get involved in the match on Saturday. On Saturday I'd play him on one wing with Daley on the other, give Jennings a rest and move Nicky Law into a more central position to help feed off Higdon and give Murphy a hand. A lot of Humphrey's good work is undone by the fact there's nobody there to get on the end of it, with Law arriving from the middle and Daley covering the other flank it should see a huge improvement.
  10. I've actually forgotten about all the deals. probably done myself out of a fair few quid in the last two months!
  11. I'm not having a go, it's a fairly simple question.
  12. I'll wait until further details are released, but it's going to have to be something pretty outstanding for me to hand over £300 quid. Just seems like an excuse for the club to squeeze even more cash out of their small but loyal support. Hope I'm wrong. Whit happens if you want your £300 quid back?
  13. club have to be congratulated for this approach. However, claiming our season ticket prices are the best value in the SPL isn't correct. There are three clubs whose adults tickets are cheaper than ours who also offer different deals for kids.
  14. I personally think the four tickets per season ticket holder was the best way of doing it. The club were always going to get it in the neck, atleast this way the most loyal fans (have my tin hat on, but season ticket holders who are there every week) get a ticket, and they have the opportunity to give another three tickets to well fans who don't have a season. It's a bit like self-policing, the club really have little to know who is a motherwell fan or celtic fan when someone walks into the chapman building, but fans will know who they are giving the spare tickets to. For people who don't know season ticket holders in person, this forum was here as a prime example of a way to get in contact with ST holders who might have had a couple spare. My one criticism would be that people who could produce a ticket from the semi-final should have gotten atleast two tickets each.
  15. Think it's a mistake by the club to bring in a top that will never be worn and expect us to fork out £45 quid for it. Don't know how they can justify it. Again, as much as some may argue they have thought long and hard, the end result doesn't seem a fair reflection on waht most of the fans were looking for, whether in style or the fact it won't ever see the light of day.
  16. Any word on the hospitality tickets? prices, availability?
  17. With us facing Celtic in the cup final six days after the last game of the season, surely it would be sensible for us to take a skelping? I doubt we will want to risk any first-team players ahead of the big game incase they get injured so surely it will be a weakened team that will take to the field. Also, my understanding is that if Celtic win the league, we will get a euro spot even if we lose in the final. Curious to see what would happen if Celtic needed to beat us on the last day of the season and it was a 0-0 draw with 89 minutes gone. a wee dodgy own goal perhaps?
  18. Think the two gents were infront of me today, hope you enjoyed it even half as much as the rest of us!
  19. Strathclyde Police are planning a crackdown on people bringing them into games at this weekend's Scottish Cup ties. Hopefully our more colourful supporters will behave. Don't want another milky incident now do we

    Accies V Well

What are the entry prices for the game?
  21. They should be in good condition since they haven't kicked a ball further than five yards. All the best for the auction.
  22. I don't buy this. In terms of Motherwell, the quality of player I don't think is that much worse, if at all than what it was say 10, 15 years ago. For example, in goals we have Darren Randolph, back then we had Stevie Woods. Instead of Tom Hateley we had Kevin Christie. On the wing we wouldn't have had Chris Humphrey, or Jim O'Brien, we had Andy Roddie and Kevin Twaddle. Upfront it was Don Goodman instead of Jamie Murphy. Obvious back then you had gems like Dougie Arnott, Tommy Coyne etc. But I don't thik the standard has dropped that much. We believe it has because we are constantly being told it has. The main problem, I think anyway, is that we see far too much foreign football ont he telly compared to before. Folk are sitting in their house watching Lionel Messi and Co. rip teams apart with cheeky flicks and score absolute screamers and expect that to be replicated. It's just not realistic. Back 15 odd years ago all we had was Fooball Italia on a Sunday, match of the day on Saturday night with a couple of english games, and that was that. Like I said I honesty don't believe the standard of Scottish football is that bad compared to elsewhere. If you watch Championship matches on Sky, or even th premier league when say Blackpool play West Brom or Bolton meet Blackburn, the level of play dished up I'd argue isn't any higher than your average top six spl game. Put Hearts v Moterwell infront of 35,000 people with tv pundits waxing lyrical about it and you would be convinced it's a lot better than what it is.
