Can only echo the thoughts above. Was really impressed when I saw them training. Congratulations Angie to you Emily, Lucy and the girls!

I think next week's games will play a far bigger part in this than yesterday. Say we go to Ibrox and get a result, even a draw, then St Mirren end up turning over hibs at Paisley. The whole thing completely turns in our favour. St Mirren have yet to lose a game at their new ground, and have managed to turn over us and Celtic in the process. Hibs getting any sort of result is not likely. Anything less than a win for hibs would be a disaster as they would realistically be going in knowing they have to beat Rangers. Still think we have the best run in!

For the rangers game just stick eleven men behind the ball and hoof it at every opportunity. With st mirren, stick clarkson murphy jim obrien john sutton all upfront and absolutely hammer them. Our goal difference is only out by two, so like someone said before, fingers crossed atleast if we lose at ibrox it will only be by one. To be honest I think St Mirren in Paisley is a harder game for hibs than Rangers at easter road.

We should colour all the sand green, will atleast make it look better!

Would have been a soft sending off in my opinion. Was hardly a punch like has been described by others. Shout out goes to Paul Quinn for ordering fans in the east stand to hold onto the ball and to not throw it back in.

This has been bugging me for a while now, why is it billed as "£40 quid a ticket/ a table of ten for £400"? Surely if you bought ten tickets then that would add up to £400. Saying a table of ten for £400 isny a discounted rate

I have almost had enough of this. I thought Marc had a good (good as last night goes) and solid game last night. You are right, he isn't a left winger, nor his he trying to be. The gaffer has said this several times and the only time he has started with an outright 4-4-2 was the other week when he played darren smith on one wing and jim obrien on the other. Some people on here are a complete joke. From the main stand last night I thought fitzy put in a shift and a few of the guys around me were commenting on how he was having a good game. If you are expecting him to be bombing down the line and swinging in crosses then you are a complete idiot with no footballing awareness. Our best performances this season have been with Marc in the team, and look what happened when he was removed last night. It isn't a coincidence that our long unbeaten run came when Marc was a big fixture.

At the game the now. We have been more than a match so far, however that isnt saying very much. first goal the winner.

In the game where we lost 4-2 to celtic earlier on this season i remember the first third if not half of the cooper to be absolutely empty. I would argue that by giving them the cooper rather than part of the o'donnell actually increases our attendances that much.

Noticed this earlier, why postpone the draw? seems a ridiculous idea. Again Scottish football has got to hang on waiting as a result of something to do with the old firm!

I dont understand where this hatred of Motherwell really comes from. I may be giving the average st mirren fan credit her but surely they dont hold a grudge about one game that was over thirty years ago? Pie and Bovril is difficult enough reading without trawling through their board. I try and not look through game with my claret and amber tinted specs on, however our modern team are hardly cheats. I think there is a falkirk and St Mirren love in on P&B as falkirk are still bitter because they didnt come up when we SHOULD have got relegated. Understandibly so. However, what the average fan with a two bit opinion forgets is, that this has heehaw to do with Motherwell. If you ask any fan on this board or you meet in the street will tell you, we deserved to get relegated that year. As for the under soil heating issue, as far as im aware we are going to get cained for it. St Mirren are a team who i don't feel any sort of hatred for, and I was glad to be there at the closing of love street as i genuinely felt for their supporters, and I'm dreading when we will all have to do the same. It is a pitty some people can't look at the bigger picture. by the way this wee rant is by no means aimed at the chap that initially posted on here....ya junkie bastard

The gym space itself is quite big. There is the big astro park behind the east stand, but there aren't any other pitches. Where the gym is in the south stand there is a room that runs the length of the stand, but has pillars all the way down it from memory.

A sort of Almondvale effort with perhaps a bigger main Stand wouldn't be that bad. Still reckon the stadium looks like having nothing to it and makes you feel like you are outside (I know ye are but ye know what i mean ). A more sloping roof might make it feel mor enclosed!

I think anything less than 10,000 would show lack of ambition by the club. This season we have had two games with attendances above the 8k mark, with atleast one old firm game against Celtic left plus a possible tie in the Scottish cup against St mirren which could, with the right pricing, attract a bumber crowd. Remember as well that we have games coming up soon that people can take a friend to for free. If we can make the top six, you can expect possibly two games that would have crowds over 8,000 if last seasons circumstances are anything to go by (which isn't that unrealistic since we are picking up points and the team in 4th gets a euro spot). now, between the nancy game and the rangers game, we had attendances of 11,318 plus 9,600 respectively (give or take a few that perhaps slipped through the net ). That means if we had 4918 people that if we were in an 8,000 seater, wouldnt get in. Say the average price for a ticket, allowing for students concessions etc is £15, that means that is almost £74k lost just in those two games. I know this is a rough figure, but it gives a fair indication at money we would lose if we had a smaller ground than 10k. I believe that if we move to ravenscraig, the club will do it with the idea of the club growing, and very much being able to tap into the resources available to them as new schools, leisure centres and communities are on their doorstep. Even if only 5% of people that will move into ravenscraig start going to Motherwell, a similar percentage to the amount of people in Motherwell that go to Fir Park current, you are talking an extra couple of thousand a week. It is quite realistic to expect that if Motherwell keep their gate prices fair, and try to get envolved with the new community as well as keeping their current supporters happy, and continue to "punch above their weight" and doing well in the league (bearing in mind 4th place will get you into the EURO cup now, very achievable with our team), there is no reason why we couldn't get home attendances of about 6-7k within the next ten years. that means that away teams would be heavily restricted to how many they could bring. In saying that, going by £1,875 a seat, for us to have an extra 3k seats to take our capacity upto 13,000 (our ideal size imo), would cost an extra 5.6 million(roughly). Whether that is an option or not remains to be seen. What everyone needs to keep in their heads is that the board or whoever will do their best for the club as a whole. As much as, of course, that means being cost affective, I think there is a difference between doing that and doing it on the cheap. The club, who despite what people think do keep an eye on the boards and different channels, will im sure know that in order to make sure the move is successful they need to have the fans support, otherwise they will have an empty stadium half a mile up the road. keep the faith.

I think we all need to stand back and have a think about this. Right now, is Fir Park in THAT bad a state? Sound system is a bit ropey, vaguely remember complaining about paint splodges on the steps(c'mon tae fuck), and the pitch could be doing with a bit of an overhaul. However as a stadia, it is fit for purpose, and I see little evidence of it "crumbling". we have a davie cooper and away stand that have barely been up 15 years, with excellent lounge and hospitality facilities. Obviously the main stand and east stand will need work on a ongoing basis, however i don't believe they are in that much of a state of dis-repair that we should be building a new ground. IMHO our ground is no where near as bad as Love Street, Brockville etc. As much as the idea of moving to a brand spanking new ORIGINAL stadium that will do our club justice and will encourage thousands of newcomers along to the 'Ark mark II, the reality of what we will end up with is much different. Just imagine yourself in a carbon copy of St Mirrens stadium with claret and amber seats in the middle of a wasteground in ten years. You will be longing for the walk through the pish at the back of the east stand

Port's got taken off with a tweak in his groin. he did say after the game though that he is alright. Keep an eye on the 'fishel site guys for interview with him from last night. Also McGhee's article is up where he talks about the squad for saturday. 'Fishel McGhee interview Scott

we have had that big bubble for years.

After the game today I am even more confused about my views on a move away from Fir Park. If we ended up with a stadium like St Mirrens then I think I would rather stand in a crumbling shack. Fir Park has its faults yes but none that make the place so unpleasant that it would be beneficial for a multi-million pound upheaval. If we move it will be for financial and business reasons, not because Fir Park is in such a bad state of repair.

from the main stand there wasn't too much noise or activity really coming from the 'Well support, despite the impressive numbers and tiffo display at the start. not very vocal at all.

Think it has a draw written all over it. Hoping for an exciting game... would take a draw to be honest.
