I never suggested we sack him. Simply not renew his contract. Would be some employment lawyer to find a case with that action.
-
It really isn’t that much different. If he is unable to hit the standards expected to play at our level then he should be released once his contract has expired. It’s the same that would happen in any other industry when an employee is on a fixed term contract. Somebody on a permanent contract, with no expiry date, is a different scenario all together. Those of course don’t exist for players at a football club.

It’s a tough world out there!
-
But if you were an employee on a fixed term contract, would you expect your employer to renew that when it comes to an end if you were unable to hit the standards? This isn’t a charity for injured footballers that we are running here.
-
Carson is the better of the two, but Gillespie has been excellent since coming in. No issues at all with him being the number 1 once (could be if after his injury) moves on.

Was having a conversation about father and son footballers. Stumbled across the Wikipedia of Gavin Strachan and see it mentions that he signed for us on loan but never played. I have no recollection of him being with us at all. Seems to have been in 2002.

Sensitive little souls on here if that goes down as a shit thing to post. It’s a business. If he isn’t fit enough to positively contribute to the team by the summer then he should be on his way. It isn’t a charity that we are running. Edit to add that he was in fine form before his injury his injury and thought he was decent.

The lucky to walk again was clearly an exaggeration. I don’t expect him to be at the club next season.
-
He will be lucky to walk again, never mind play. I’m sure I read that atleast one of the further operations was due to an infection from the previous one.
-
His time is well and truly up. We should be bringing the new man in so he can assess the squad before the summer. Robinson has a habit of just doing enough to relieve the pressure. I don’t think he will manage it this time. Defeat on Wednesday and at Dens and he is gone!
-
Should be phoning Paul Hurst to see if he fancies it. His record down south is superb (ignoring Ipswich, who are a shambles). Might not be interested, but should ask the question.
-
Somebody at the weekend mentioned to me that we are interested in a young player from Carlisle named Aidan Hutchinson. No idea about him.
-
If Ross McCormack signs then I’ll eat my shoe!
-
Yeah, heard that at the match yesterday as well. Leeds were interested and he was heading south.
-
That level really is bollocks. Was at Guiseley v Maidstone towards the end of last season. The standard was worse than I expected. Not one of the players on the pitch would get a sniff of a game at Scottish League 1 level.
-
Grimshaw has been excellent on both matches this week. Was my MOTM on Wednesday and same again yesterday. The goal from Turnbull was superb and I like the lad, but I’m not getting too carried away.
-
We should absolutely get him tied down, but would need to prove a bit more to warrant four years. Remember, we offered Ross Forbes a four year deal after a promising start!
-
The fact Bowman is paid money to be a footballer is shocking. His first touch is amateur level of pish and he appears to lack the ability of striking a ball with any real power. Whilst you can’t fault his effort, he is simply nowhere close to good enough for the top league.
-
I’m sure I read that injuries had caught up with him and his pace had went. Lets be honest, he would never have been a footballer had he not been lightening quick!

Released Celtic striker Nadir Ciftci could be set for a return home, with newly-promoted Turkish side Erzurumspor offering the 26-year-old a deal. (Daily Express, print edition)

Just have a read again at my post.

Whilst there is the odd gem, that League is piss poor.
-
Think I might call up HMRC and suggest that I only pay 80% of the tax I owe them for the next 12months...
-
Some direct quotes from Michael O’Halloran’s agent saying we were close to signing him in January (was part of the media madness around him being in the Celtic end at the weekend). Wonder if Robinson will have another attempt at it in the summer.
-
Thistle fans expect that he will leave and be snapped up by a top league club. Seems he was one of the very few positives about the season for them. Edit - Seems his destination is Perth on a pre contract going on the P&B rumours.
