The 5 years in the entire history of football in this country where Celtic didn't get their own way?

A fear there has to be a bit of substance to them being added other than being ex-players. However if you've read or heard anything I'll add them.

The 230 odd page thread for this season has already started to crossover and discuss what should be in this thread for continuity, therefore I've created this for season 2011-12. I'll update and edit this first post as we get announcements and confirmations. So: In's Michael Higdon - Free - St Mirren - ST - 2 years (3/6) Nicky Law - Free - Rotherham United - MF - 2 years (1/7) Zaine Francis Angol - Tottenham Hotspur - DF - ? years Hermann Mboa Mekongo - Racing Club de France - MF - ? years Tim Clancy - Free - Kilmarnock - DF - 1 year (26/08) Omar Daily - Free - Bradford (Rotherham loan) - FW - 2 years (27/08) On Loan Retained Shaun Hutchison - DF - 2 years - Summer 2014 (2/6) Jamie Pollock - AM/FW - 1 year - Summer 2012 (7/6) Steve Howarth - ST - 1 year - Summer 2012 (7/6) Ross McKinnon - LB - 1 year - Summer 2012 (7/6) Stephen Craigan - DF - 1 year - Summer 2012 (9/6) Tom Bradley - GK - 1 year - Summer 2012 (9/6) Lee Hollis - GK - 1 year - Summer 2012 (10/6) Willie Muir - GK - 1 year - Summer 2012 (10/6) Steve Jennings - MF - 1 year - Summer 2012 (1/7) Pre-Contract Nicky Devlin - Dumbarton - RB Rumoured Stephen Hughes - Norwich City - MF - Johnstone Mike Grella - Leeds Utd - ST - waldo Rory McAllister - Brechin City - FW - waldo Jim Patterson - Free Agent formerly Plymouth Argyle - LB -Motherwell11 John Akinde - Free Agent formerly Bristol City - ST - Paisley Steelman (signed for Crawley Town) Martin Devaney - Free Agent formerly Barnsley - WG - Paisley Steelman John Taylor - Shrewsbury Town - MF - MattSTFC - Remaining at Shrewsbury Glenville Adam le Fondre - Rotherham United - ST - joe90 Lee Griffiths - Woves - FW - StipeIsGod - loaned to Hibs Out's John Sutton - Free - Heart of Midlothian - ST Maurice Ross - Released - Contract Expired - DF Angelis Charalambous - Released - Contract Expired - DF Esteban Casagolda - Released - Contract Expired - ST Francis Jeffers - Released - Contract Expired - ST Steven Meechan - Released - Contract Expired signed for Kettering Town - MF Liam Sloan - Released - Contract Expired signed for Partick Thistle Gavin Griffin - Released - Contract Expired signed for Partick Thistle Bradley Halsman - Released - Contract Expired Steve Jones - Loan Ended returned to Walsall signed for Droylsden - LW Gavin Gunning - Loan Ended returned to Blackburn Rovers signed for Dundee Utd - RB Peter Innes - Released - Alloa Athletic - MF On Loan Ross McKinnon - Dumbarton - LB - 1 month (30/08) Stevie Howarth - Alloa Athletic - ST - 1 month (30/08) The Jim Gannon Memorial Trophy An award just for fun in its second year to recognise outstanding achievement in scouting and recognising footballing talent (Moutaouakil). It recognises those who have either the foresight or an inside scoop. If a player is nominated and they sign for the club then that person will receive 5 points in the inaugural Jim Gannon Memorial Trophy. 2 points if they are mentioned in conjunction with us and decide to go elsewhere, -1 for erroneous nonsense. Open to other suggestions for scoring. I agree it needs a wee bit more up tempo, however the words are right on the money with a few alterations for cultural/football references (Jericho for Piggery is one): The higher you build your barriers The taller we become The farther you take our rights away The faster Humph will run You can deny us It's clear our time has come No matter, cos there's.... [CHORUS] Something inside so strong I know that we can make it Tho' you're doing us wrong, so wrong You thought that our pride was gone Oh no, something inside so strong Oh oh oh oh oh something inside so strong The more you refuse to hear our voice The louder we will sing You hide behind walls of your Piggery Your lies will come tumbling Deny our place in time You squander wealth that's mine Our cup will shine so brightly It will blind you Cos there's......

Inspirational and catchy - couldn't find the Rik Waller version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8Vetw_tbSs&feature=related "The more you refuse to hear my voice .... the louder I will sing" GIRUY unwashed

Sloop John B But agree with many above, a lot of these are random as hell and no prior context. Hey Jude is almost like a church hymn in how downbeat and slow it is. Ditch it.
-
I'll counter your question with one asking if its not football related, why's it in "club chat"?
-
I don't think he took a pay cut, we got him on a free remember. Plenty of hot women (if he goes to town) to get his leg over with up here. I agree he'll be on Celtic's radar and I can only hope Harry Redknapp has him in mind to replace that useless Portugese melon seller who masquerades as a goalkeeper. I lost a coupon due to him a few weeks ago.

+1, the club aren't going to get their fingers burned again. That offer of £1.1m from Rangers still probably haunts them.
-
Are the tickets not the property of the SFA so the club have to hand the full amount to them for divvying up. Credit Card purchases take anything from 2% to 4% of the price from what I understand, so the club would be out of pocket. I'm guessing here so it may be conjecture. Also the club may have had to rent extra chip and pin machines for the next 3 weeks? Answers on a postcard.

It may not appear at first reading but I was suggesting the reported altercations in the precinct and the claims there will be none left for the ballot are both bullshit fuelled by Chinese whispers. Your sums are pretty much along the same lines as what I worked out in my head.
-
About as much is there will be no ballot tickets left.
-
Season ticket holders have pre-sale for a week, with 3,000 in total and a allocation of 16,000 its safe to say you don't have to go on day 1 to ensure your tickets, you could quite feasibly pop up at any point during the week when you perceive it to be quieter and easily get tickets. As for the form, dry your eyes. you have to do the "hard work" .... filling out some names and addresses .... diddums. However not like Motherwell fans to run things down before the event.
-
That £10 would account for the WELLevate scheme that lets all under 13's in for free with an adult ticket throughout the whole stadium.
-
Were you at the game today caller? ......
-
If it was Motherwell sorting office and you went back home to sit down and watch it on your sofa then away and bile yer heed.

Murphy for 20 minutes easily then gave the ball away with numerous underweight passes. To be fair the whole team weren't there in the second half. Unfortunately all of McCall's signings didn't cover themselves in glory today.
-
The first 20 minutes it looked like it could be a re-run of the Celtic game, they were under the cosh. However when they got the lucky bounce against the run of play and got a goal from it the change was almost instantaneous as was the change in confidence in our team.
-
I can understand why McCall did what he did today. Facts are we haven't beat Rangers for 9 years, combine it with the aggregate scores this season it was always going to be an uphill task. I'm sure he is mindful of potential Cup Final starting line ups and therefore needs to experiment in competative matches where he can. I'm guessing he felt he may as well do it against Rangers today as going by the form book the best we could hope for is one point. There is still £80k at stake for 5th opposed to 6th place, the game next Wednesday will be a full strength squad unless Killie get a results (which is doubtful as they have a harder run in). What didn't help was that both Jones and Ross had their worst games since joining today, however lets not ignore the playing against 11 men plus the ref mentality that must have crept in the first 20 minutes or so. Combine that with a very fortunate bounce of Gunning and et voila, goal number 1. Jelavic could have easily had a hat trick as the heads dropped. There is no excuse for sleeping on the job or not tracking back (Mr Jones). Naismith also had a very accomplished display. However too many in Claret and Amber appeared to be mindful of picking up injuries than the task at hand. Losing in the manner we have to Rangers this season has been a bitter pill to take, the only repsectable score was in the CIS Cup Semi.

£3 a whip, so not an option.
