  1. Updated post #1, impressed with his modesty, guessing his ego was larger when he was younger though.
  2. Awww well because you say so, evidently I am
  3. Nitpicking how? I expressed an opinion I wasn't a fan of it doesn't mean I'm right.
  4. Hi Dee, I deliberately made a concious effort in my post not to draw a link, it's why I opted for two separate paragraphs that didn't reference each other. The semantics of the description in the great scheme of things is immaterial, we can call it a pyrotechnic for generalisation if preferred. A device was let off that will cause the club hassle, that is the long and short of it. I think most fans know that we live in a risk and claim society now, primarily driven by the Americans. Accountability now features highly on the minds of those hosting any event. The club has to deal with and placate a number of bodies such as Strathclyde Police, North Lanarkshire Council, the SFA, SPL and Central Government (with respect to H&S legislation). I think its safe to assume that many club officials time is taken up writing correspondence and attending meetings to help allay some of these bodies. Personally I'd rather their time was freed up to pursue improving the facilities and increasing revenue, that is the way team will improve over time. I'm sure many will appreciate and some will be surprised that the club may have views on some things that are shared with some of the more vocal members of the support in section E but it can't express openly otherwise it attracts unwanted official attention and potential censure. The issue is if anything like this goes off the Police commander gets jumpy, that results in other domino effect reactions that affect many other fans matchday experience. I have written to the Advisory Committee to ask if because of their intermediary status as fans but having the regular ear of the club they can act as an effective "middle man" between the club and some supporters to get a more fruitful dialogue going. Despite its association with us in 80's primarily, I'm not a big fan of the SS symbol or using elements of it. My Grandfather was at Dunkirk and then went onto El Alamein and Sicily, fighting men who wore it on their lapels. I don't personally appreciate its involvement in anything to do with Motherwell FC. Regardless, I think what you and your colleagues did last night was commendable and I'd fully support more of it going forward. The plans for Hampden again are very impressive and hint of a bigger club.
  5. Seen that on FPC too, I'd be wary of distinguishing between him touting for a gig and us courting him, there is a big difference. Maybe he should contact Hammerfist to do his PR, no doubt he get him into Barca on £150k a week.
  6. Fair play for the banners, looked really good and I got a lump of pride in my throat looking at it and the names listed. As for the flare after half-time, I'm not sure if any involved know how much pressure is being exerted on the club by the authorities because of this.
  7. Will the revenues for both semi's be split evenly between the 4 teams same as the CIS?
  8. I'd echo that, don't think we give him enough credit for the niggling little challenges he puts in or doing just enough to put an opposition player off/out his stride. Would have went to Murph but for that first touch when he was clean through. However other than that it was like the guy we had in the first 2 months of the season, glad to have you back Jamie.
  9. I think the fact he's never figured this season means its felt he hasn't got the tools. Blitz him from your memory along with Casagolda. I think its a definite Goldenballs and Zorba picking up their P45's in the summer for players who may actually figure in the odd game.
  10. I think the above is the most realistic formation with only Jeffers and Murphy switching, however I'd personally opt for Jeffers from the start, tonight is the night you need to take your chances when offered and I can't remember the last time Murphy had a clean shot opposed to a trundler. As for the defence, fair bit of pace there to contain their speedy attack, however a couple have had the tendency to make the odd miss-timed challenge. Time to screw the nut lads, their attack will jump on any chance to get a soft penalty and we've been victim to a few of those recently. Don't fear, there will be a certain degree of trepidation among their players and fans tonight too, on paper we have a speedy team with an experienced head in Jeffers and the on-form striker in the country. Our Achilles heel will be the defence remaining calm and composed and addressing issues quickly.
  11. Randolph on the bench against Uruguay, thought he may have started.
  12. Got it via Sky channel 0116 cheers. Thanks madscot, underboyleheating to the rescue.
  13. Nice story Jim It is on in 5 minutes, anyone know how to get 810 via the internet? The only radio in the house doesn't do MW.
  14. You're better off downloading Google Sketchup its a free 3D CAD tool that a lot of architects are now using. You can find all the Scottish stadiums mostly done by an Aberdeen fan here Google Sketchup 3D Warehouse Rubgy Park Euro 2016 is impressive and something I didn't know anything about. I posted a similar thread about 6 months ago when I adopted my Avatar.
  15. Original colours weren't green, they were blue, so a non-question really. It's like saying if we won the CIS in 2005 what sort of party would you have had?
  16. I switched to Motherwell from another team 6 months before the victory, I was in 1st year at high school and felt my support for Motherwell meant a lot to them than it did for being one of 250,000 following the OF. I remember buying my tickets and beach hat from one of the three windows in the Main Stand. Amazing to think the clubs who merchandising operation was viewed through a 2ft square window. Only thing I've seen close to that where you point out what you want is in a Islamic bizarre or Digby's off licence. My friends mum ran two buses generally full of full families, lots of mums who had never watched a Well game in their lives. Sang "she wore a yellow ribbon" in a constant loop into Hampden. As for the game my defining memory was the general throng and sway of people all standing and pretty much looking at my feet in panic for most of the extra time. After the final whistle it was a blur. Got back to Motherwell, just off Hamilton Road and heard there was something going on at FP. Walked up as quick as we could but arrived just as everyone was drifting away. Still got in and walked on the pitch. That night heard Foggs were offering pints for 1950's prices, apparently it was carnage. EDIT: Just re-read the original post and noticed the one sentence bit, apologies.
  17. Chris Humphrey in a back 4, Peter you've been drinking surely? Craggs will play both I reckon.
  18. It was reseeded within 4 hours of the final whistle against Celtic.
  19. Apologies, misread the original post. However JB proved that even with hugely discounted pricing initiatives, the interest among the target market wasn't what was expected and the legacy of these initiatives didn't materialise as expected.
  20. John Boyle did this c. 1999-2000 and it didn't work then, why would it now? I'd gift the Wall stadium and use it as conference/exhibition centre during the week. Weddings over the weekends with 10 bedrooms right at the top looking over the whole Clyde Valley and an observation deck.
  21. No chance, he'll be off to the Championship too good for us or them. As for Craigie, I agree wholeheartedly, however it appears we won a watch with him taking Blackman.
  22. In one match in one given second there is a good chance you will have 3,000 shout "hanballllllll" in unison.
  23. I heard it's a Canterbury top printed with "DEMPSTER" across the back .... still interested?
