"Claret & Amber Forever!" Around 11 times so far this season
-
If we're going to go through accies like a gypo in TK Maxx then imrie would be worth a shout. Czerny is a shoe-in however I fear his stock has risen out of our range and budget.
-
If anyone reading this wants a stronger team, get one of your mates who has fallen by the wayside to buy a season ticket. That's the only way we'll improve the general standard and consistency of the squad.

Today reinforced David Goodwillie is in the same vein as Robbie Savage or Chick Charnley in my eyes. If he's in your team you love him, however outwith that bubble he is universally despised by all others who have a knowledge of football. Great day out, lack of progression to the semi today tempered with extra cash injection on the 29th, lets hope the TV pick it up and remember 4 days in October.

I went for Sutton for the first time ever I reckon, won the majority of stuff in the air, was a handful for whoever was marking him and two really well taken goals. Lasley was outstanding and kept the midfield ticking, some really neat interplay and cute backheals. Jeffers showed how he was at higher level in the past, his touch, insight and awareness was clearly apparent (he did seem to get annoyed a few times when a few of his teammates didn't seem to be on the same wavelength).

I'm in Strathblane just now and we've got nothing, however only 10 miles away in Cumbernauld isn't looking too pretty. A mate in Livingston has told me its 4" deep there. It has been raining constantly since early o'clock this morning so based on that front moving east and north, I reckon the amount of rain regardless of snow will mean the game will be off based on the state of their pitch this season.

Just glad the debacle in Inverness has now been punted as the main video when you visit the site. I wonder how long it took chick to ask Ally about his memories playing for Rangers.

Measured response there ...... I thought you were meant to mature and get wiser with age.

Always surprises me that people hone in on a recent poor performance as a reason for not making a certain points threshold. If we don't make the top 6 it's because of all the stupid points we dropped either through error or a lackluster display over the whole of this season.

BBC highlights and radio commentary are my sole reference here, Hammell all over the shop for the first. Ross Forbes has to work on his headers. Highlights show Hutchison had a couple of clear errors that put the remainder of the defence under real pressure. If Humphrey hit the ball anywhere else other than directly at the defender then it would've been a goal. Woeful defending for the third, from the shy until McDonald put it into the back of the net. Learn from it, draw a line in the sand and move on.

Who would we rather have? Another manager with one eye down south, commuting to Motherwell from his 5 bed bungalow somewhere +200 miles away. Long and short is he is the only one who was committed to us as most supporters expect and demand. McCall was the only one willing to commit. For me he has a degree of integrity missing from many in this sport. There have been some howling results, some only the most optimistic would have predicted and a few we've at least been the better side but didn't get anything from, however that's football. We are the 7th or 8th biggest team in the country based on average attendance, turnover and our honour roll. Despite a few blips, our general league position over the past 20 years has been pretty good overall. We are comparable in terms of size with Kilmarnock (without the debt), their fans would bit our arms off for splitting the OF twice. Of course with a 5th place finish last season most would like to see an improvement this year however, for the second season in succession we've had to appoint a new management team with all the hassle and upheaval that goes with it.

Inclined to agree with Diggle on this one. With respect to the poor victim of "the pack", only 3 hours after the St. Mirren this thread was started, however we beat Celtic against all odds and not only that we make them look amateur, however he/she didn't feel the need to add to the thread until a very disappointing result yesterday in Inverness and guess what, it's cranked up again. It's nice when you can pick and choose when to stoke the fire.

Nope, but don't let a good conspiracy theory get in the way of common sense

I'll get my coat. What's even more annoying I didn't even bother putting Caley Thistle in the summary as I didn't count them as contenders. One point behind confirms we don't like doing things easy (e.g. Hibs at home).

Crap drive back down the A9 for many with a 9pm arrival back in the shire, a Saturday to put behind you very quickly. Best tactics to play us: Put most of your players behind the ball and as Fat Tony points out, we have no ideas, inventiveness, edge or ability.

Christ sake, He's got an eye for a player, everyone he's brought in has above average pass marks (well before today). He managed a win over the OF, something none of the past few have managed. Out of his 14-15 games there is today, Rangers and Dundee Utd. as particularly poor, Killie we were dominant and should have had a win, St. Mirren and St. Johnstone should have been a point each from what I saw and understand. Aberdeen and Celtic were great results. He won't be going anywhere when we still have 27 months of compensation to pay if we get rid of him. Today's shocking performance along with the other results not going our way (Killie 2-0 up at Tynecastle) and all the talk of consistency during the week looks like its fell on deaf ears.

I see you opt for the Gaddafi approach to diplomacy Gaag

I think your post correct or not, makes uneasy reading for the moderators on here. Safe to say choice is a great thing, same as choosing to sit in the east opposed to the cooper, you maybe prefer the view and atmosphere in one opposed to the other.

Kilmarnock play both the OF and Hearts away, so realistically they will only pick up points against Caley, us or St. Johnstone. Dundee Utd. if you consider the 2 Rangers games and Hearts as the three they have in hand over us means they will still be three points behind. Then its a similar run in to us, only difference is they have a Accies game to our Hearts away. The three games between Killie and Dundee Utd will make our season as there are 2x 6 pointers and a chance to rub it in against Brown. Please lets secure things rather than have to get something against Hearts or rely on other results.

Apologies, Froidian slip. Be prepared for an official complaint coming from Parkhead if we did.
-
I think if he was an immediate first team prospect at 17 then McCall would have been involved in the press release and not Youngie. To be honest, Charalambous was bought as a U-19 player too, I expected that if we did see him this season then it would be towards the of the end with the odd sub appearance if we're not in a fight for anything. Updated post #1 to reflect Devlin signing.

Length of contract anyone?

5) A few weeks back we all watched Darren Randolph do anything bar try and save wave after wave of R*ngers attack. The only thing he didn’t do was throw one into the net himself. Yesterday, he saved everything that was thrown at him, which wasn’t that much. Such is life eh? They've drawn with Accies, Dundee Utd, Killie and Inverness and lost to us, Hearts and the currants. Of course he'll ignore Accies going to Ibrox on the 15th of January and losing 4-0 after drawing with them beforehand. He chooses to ignore Aberdeen only losing 2-0 to Rangers after the 9-0 at Parkhead. Surely following his deluded Irish logic, that was childhood fan and long time job applicant Mark McGhee's plot to help them. As for our 6-0 at Ibrox, I take it he missed the league cup semi where we were the better team on the day? Every club has an off day, losing to Rangers 5-1 once every decade for example and this years performance against Utrecht away.

Mine was a guy near me shouting "Your hugging Sutton more than yer wean Mulgrew ..... ya delinquent prick"
