Motherwell Vs St Johnstone 10/11 Discussion Thread

I dunno, there is a lot to be said for rocking up in my t-shirt at the Odense game and seeing the kids able to walk home themselves after the game. However we do digress -

Then you move into a debate over potential and reality. Hindsight is a great thing. Always surprises me that he is one of the first in the door when we get a new prime minister .... -

Man City vs. Man Utd on Sky, warmth, sofa, fridge, no spotty teenager in a high viz telling you to sit down even though you are in the last row of the East. Or Well vs. relegation fodder, only thing blistering is Humphrey's pace, chilly Baltic. Bring on summer football. -
Either that or it's being done to avoid Lennon putting a complaint in triplicate into the SFA, SPL and Samaritans due to yet another instance of unfair treatment in receiving a unfairly smaller technical area when they visit next.

Been covered in the St Johnstone thread, apparently when Accies were there Brown thought that Reid influenced the stand side linesman and didn't want to let it happen again. Interesting to see if it'll be a permanent change.
-
Could be a shrewd move by Adams, the Hibs board installed an ejector seat in their managers office and despite last nights result, Calderwood may only last a short while if he doesn't start to get results. Who else would step into the breech in the event of a sacking? I'm sure there are some at Easter Road who would give Adams the benefit of the doubt.

He looks a handful for the defenders trying to mark him, quite niggily and can see him winning plenty of fouls and yellow cards for the opposition. Please with his commitment and fight, won a few balls that looked lost causes last night.
-
Of course not, and I agree with him. How can you pick Murphy or Humphrey (outfield attacking players) when you go with a 11 goalkeeper formation against the mighty Faroes.
-
Interesting reading, compare these figures with a table I saw earlier this week (Possibly on Monday night's Sportscene?) showing the records of the last 4 Aberdeen managers, obviously focusing on McGhee's record. I think his was around the 28% mark.
-
Hard fought but ultimately comfortable win, with a two goal cushion for the Well. They'll come at us and will suit the counter attacking style. They'll have given it 110% at Ibrox, whereas we eased off in the 2nd half and rested a number of key players. Humph and Blackman's moral must be sky high.

For me he's been a revelation and been outstanding between the sticks, I can see why the Charlton fans were so unhappy to see him go. Plus we have him on a 3 year deal I also think he is more assured than last years fans favourite. He seems more composed and less likely to have an "Amoruso" crazy moment once in every three games. Outstanding performances this year and out of all the goals we've conceded I think there were only 1 or 2 he have done something about.

The guy behind me suggested Fitzy and Forbes won't be in the C&A in February, rather have the money freed up to keep Gow & Blackman. Personally I don't think we've overflowing with quality midfielders, Lasley's loss was felt in the games immediately after his injury. Glad to see we're coping now. If Jenno doesn't re-sign in the summer then we're pretty threadbare there. Sutton has shown he can't move back and adapt. Among the fans it seems to be felt Hateley is best placed at RB, with Saunders and Hutchison eventually replacing Cragain and Reynolds gradually over time. If we do get the Algerian RB then Hateley will move back to midfield where he hasn't recaptured the form in that position that won him young player of the year last term. Fitzy did well against poor opposition in his first run out for quite a while. Over all he exceeded my expectations when I saw he was a starter. However if we played a team with a bit more guile or drive then it may have been a different story. But lets be honest, how much of an impact do you expect someone to have who's been both injured and had hardly any game time all season.

Can't see how anyone who scored a hat-trick can't win my vote. Special mention to Humphrey and Reynolds. If the scorers had been spread out among the rest of the team then Humph and if they were more potent in attack then it'd be Reynolds. Only player who looked below par was Mr dependable Hammell. However only lasted 1st half.

Cheers Pepper. At no point did I suggest or imply the club lied or did anything wrong. As for this stick, I've got a good idea where I've like to shove it .... that is, when its found.
-
Not a speculation, it was a statement. I suggested if the club wanted to close a stand (as some posters suggested) then I don't understand why they'd have to conjure up a lie. Surely they'd just do it. Orange Country Dosser suggested I had additional information and alluded to deception on the part of the club. I did not. However, if you aren't happy with people speculating on here you may have to censor half the posts. From potential players we may have arriving to the new sponsors to back in July how much a Chapmans pie would cost.

No idea, hence the use of "If"
-
If the club feels it has to lie to close a stand rather than just doing it then it says more about SPL/Police regulations than anything else.

Stay off the PCP/Crack combo However, I'm impressed in your optimism of establishing your own Plc. with a satisfactory marketing budget to sponsor the Pride of Lanarkshire.

I put down the Forbes votes as people actually voting Null and clicked the wrong box. I vote null for games I don't attend so I don't have to click "view results" every time I review the thread in the days following the game.
