  1. me too, all the links have nothing so far and I don't have a clue how the mob who replaced iraqgoals Liveziz works
  2. First one I've seen with a link to a stream here: http://www.firstrow.net/watch/32313/1/watc...herwell-fc.html
  3. When you consider the BBC preview info and our away form this fixture doesn't frighten me at all: "Rangers midfielder Lee McCulloch is sidelined for two weeks after suffering a groin injury ahead of Saturday's visit by Motherwell. Goalkeeper Allan McGregor is suspended after receiving a retrospective ban, while James Beattie, Kirk Broadfoot and Nikica Jelavic are injured. Motherwell have a full squad available for the trip to Ibrox. Midfielder Marc Fitzpatrick, defender Shaun Hutchinson and striker Esteban Casagolda have recovered from injury." Get intae them!
  4. The stuff about Darren Jackson and the cat are the ramblings of a ranting madman on a Vicodin and Tennents super binge. I'd take Dundee players only if we'd get them on a 2-3 year deal minimum so we'd get something and they have to be on a par with our current squad. Other than that I'm happy with the current squad apart from right back, not that Saunders is bad, I think he's naturally more of a centre-half and will eventually end up there. Hateley seems unkeen to play there so for me that is the problem, however its only a minor one at present. Over time I think we need to look at someone to replace Jennings if we can't keep him again next summer and Lasley too but it's 12-18 months away at least for him. So Craigie .... Centre-Mid's and Right Backs .... thanks very much.
  5. I thought it was the Salim who played on the wing in that games who was going to Greyskull.
  6. Agree about Fitzpatrick, he seems surplus to requirement now. Pretty happy with the squad and the options we have available. Picking a projected team to face Rangers seems quite tricky as there are only 6 definite starters barring injuries in my opinion. Randolph Craigan Hammell Reynolds Saunders Jennings Everyone else has either been hooked at half time, on the bench or their form has been up and down from one game to the next.
  7. And Hutchison groomed to replace Craigan over time. I'd like to know if Page could play as a holding left midfielder, or let Hammell play there, would be interesting.
  8. Is this the diminutive Right Back that impressed most who watched him from the Motherwell vs Motherwell bounce game? If so, to quote Marvin from the scheme "Haaaaappy as Larrrrry"
  9. Prepare to get your arse felt by the Tartan Copper for that statement.
  10. The Ravenscraig site of a potential new ground would be no further from Motherwell Cross than what Watling Street or Greenacres is, I don't think anyone can argue they aren't classed as being in Motherwell. Distances from pubs are also irrelevant as I'm sure an aspiring local businessman or chain may see sense in opening a sports bar near the ground. However if one does not spring up then the masterplan showed a road leading into the centre of Ravenscraig through the site of current Ford Evans Halshaw garage. Not too far extrato walk compared to FP. The reason I posted the Wall stadium image was to remind the powers that be who do look through these boards from time to time that there are other alternatives to Falkirk/St Mirren/Accies/Scumtown/Clyde efforts, and to let them know there are some quality solutions that could have fringe benefits from having another sterile ACME Barr Construction stadium. I wouldn't advocate a move from FP for anytime soon, at least 5 years, because at present I don't even want to think where the game and SPL will be then. If the standards in our game both domestically and internationally continue to regress at the rate they have then I hold no hopes. A prudent act as has been suggested may be to carry our a feasibility study of the cost to replace the POD and the East (if not too costly) so when it comes to making the decision whether we move or not we've at least done our homework. If we stay at FP I don't think you'd upset any group of Well fans, however if we do stay then what we have has to be updated.
  11. So? We can but dream or aspire to something more than we have or can expect can't we? Don't see why the current status of this development has any bearing. I wouldn't advocate moving for a few years yet, there is no benefit to doing so just now, best to wait till the real estate values creep up and a move is forced upon us rather than taking on extra debt and all the extra hassle that goes with it. NLC and the Ravenscraig development mob will makes things happen if they really want us to move there to raise the profile of the new town. However, as has been discussed this announcement is more about JB taking more of a back seat in preparation of a re-alignment of how the club is owned and run. Stadium talk is far off.
  12. Nobody has considered the chances of getting Archie into a green tracksuit ...... it's not going to happen. As for Cameron, his job is to get ratings, being controversial and stirring the pot occasionally gets this, by having an Annie Rooney every time he does this means he's got one over you.
  13. Al B highlighted this one on another stadium thread, it's by far my favourite. It would work as it would be a landmark building therefore attracting people to it and if combined with a quality wedding venue/conference centre/hotel then you'd get a nice supplementary income. Bear in mind Motherwell/Wishaw has the Newhouse and Moorings and Bently as the only recognised hotels (ignoring B&B's). I reckon this would have the same draw among the public as something like the Falkirk wheel, we wouldn't need the underground parking so could save a considerable amount on that structural engineering and landscaping. Seems to be coming in at the £13m mark (however that's Qatari prices with cheap Indian labour). Architectural Drawings
  14. We'd achieve a crowd larger than 6,000 at least 6-10 (OF x4, Euro x2, Hibs/Hearts x2, Scottish Cup x1, End of season nail-biter x1) games a season, based on that and an average of say of 2,000 fans above the 6,000 for 10 games at £20 a head then you are looking at £200,000 a year in revenue which should pay for the extra seats over time. If we are concerned about atmosphere, why not close sections off and only open them partially when you need overspill, that way the crowd is contained and close together, always makes for a better atmosphere than having loads of seats free. £12m for Fir Park even at the height of the good times would have been very ambitious, the site isn't that big and can't accommodate that many extra homes to justify that crazy land value.
  15. Intelligencia - Spanish Mi5? Here's another few Spanish words for you as you seem so adept .... Besa mi culo, puto!
  16. What's all this about calling the 14 year old's in section E of the East Ultra's .... real Ultra's buzz about on vespa's, dressed in bubble jackets, sporting goatee's and have a colt 45 in their back pocket. These are a group of eejits who for bragging rites in the S4 common room on Monday mornings play at being hard and upholding the clubs honour while using the "atmosphere" tag as a cover to their cocksmith antics. It's a shame that Leeann has to spend a great deal of time placating the police and SPL over these dicks rather than increasing the support and revenue for the club. As for JB and his appearance in the East stand, I reckon it was so he can head off related stuff in the weeks ahead by saying he has witnessed things on a first hand basis.
  17. If the thinking was to take off a poor Sutton and allow Blackman too take up his role by putting Forbes into midfield then it made perfect sense, unfortunately that didn't seem to happen as Blackman continued to play in a wide left role. Felt Page at least deserved a look in yesterday, 3 goals so far and accredited himself not to bad in his defensive role. Based on yesterday I now think if we play to the strengths of our current squad then the formation is as follows: --------------------- Randolph ---------------------- Saunders ---- Craigan --- Reynolds --- Hammell ----------------- Lasley --- Jennings --------------- Humphrey ---------- Murphy ----------------- Gow --------------------- Blackman --------------------- Sutton Forbes Page Hutchison McHugh Not forgetting Sutton's threat in the air and the fact the midfield is a little sparse. This formation suits a rapid counter attack and if we get the goals at the beginning of the game, which CB seems to favour, then a few subs to shore up things. Plus Humphrey and Murphy seem to run out of steam after 60 minutes play. Only thing that concerns me is that our central defence will probably be altered by January at the earliest and definitely by May. Craigan can't have many seasons left in him, which suggests a partnership with Saunders initially and then Hutchison replacing him. Leaving the RB open.

    St Mirren

Humphrey's goal was a peach, good quick thinking to take advantage of the slip and touch to take it away from the closing defender. Can't help feeling that we could have taken advantage of Higden's booking after 10 minutes by trying to get him sent off. Hateley's free kick was nice too, I think the keeper got a hand to it so fair play to him. Game would have changed big time if wee got that however we didn't and has already been noted on this thread, the "we'll take the 1-0" 4-5-1 didn't work, like it against Aalesund. Jennings had some powerful runs from midfield and some quick 1-2's that sliced St. Mirren open. Don't know if Craig gave them Vicodin at half-time when Red Bull was called for. Certainly the scare at the end of the first half demanded it. Still don't know why he insists on playing Blackman in a left midfield role when he is quite clearly a striker and Murphy has experience playing there. 2nd half was appalling, 2nd to every ball, Sutton pushed off the ball or just didn't challenge, Murphy didn't get into full flow until the last 5 minutes, Humphrey seemed lazy after his goal, Craigan stood out for me, despite that debacle where he passed it across the open goal mouth. Hateley still seems to have a few confidence issues, his play highlighted that we've missed Hammell firing in a good ball from the left. However as far as man of the match goes, I'd give it to Gow for his 15 minutes he won a penalty and timed his run before squaring it ...... If Carlsberg did contributions .......
  19. Howzatttt! You do realise Edward that a good number on here will have to visit www.dictionary.com to work out exactly what you meant.
  20. it'll be interesting to see how McCluskey performs considering he was a trialist for us in the bounce game and impressed. Compared with Gow, who on paper is a better player with more pedigree and hopefully now getting close to match fit. I reckon it may be a turged affair, this has 'coupon buster' all over it, however I'll go for a narrow victory.
  21. Congrats Tartan Coper on the birth of your new grand-daughter.
  22. I'm still reeling after Gordon Smith suggested we needed to find out if he had a Scottish Granny last night on BBC1 ..... He's playing well but lets all calm down a bit here.
  23. Doesn't appear to be a pure standing area (i.e. replacing seats with metal bars), just the stewards won't bother you if you do stand for the duration of the game. Good initiative though. From what I know of at FP things like this would certainly be looked into.

The most one sided MotM vote I can recall.
  25. Old Firm snubbed as Motherwell asked to join the English Premiership. I'd love that more so for their whinging conspiracy theory fans crying into their cornflakes on the morning they read that, followed by all the pundits and hacks suddenly flooding into Fir Park as we become flavour of the month. Followed by at least 4 of the first team receiving their first caps. I'd settle for Hampden come May then a few of the more cosmopolitan on next years Euro run.
