Cheers Del, Berkak is listed as playing for them in 08-09 but as for last season, none of the player databases have that information. As for Kerkar, anyone confirm if this is the "impressive winger who answered to Salim"? Nick Blackman added too.
-
Updated to add diminutive right back from Monday's bounce game (Nabil Berkak) who impressed and ex-Hibee Jamie McCluskey who also received a thumbs up from most who attended. Read through a number of threads and nobody seems to have a definitive answer as to who the impressive winger who's first name is Salim. Any ideas?

Half decent handball shout at the start of the dribble.

Does that mean we only need a tricky winger now to placate the angry mob. Or is the enigma that is Casagolda enough to get us through the season based on his exotic name and promises of riches beyond our greatest expectations. In's and Out's thread updated and Hammerfist gets +5 points ...... to add to his 20% commission.

Updated post #1 to show Casagolda (who would have thought it) signing. Hammerfist goes straight to +5 points (who would have thought that too) in the Jim Gannon Memorial Trophy. On the official website there is no mention of Mechelen, can anyone confirm Casagolda's last club.

Oh Darren your witty repartee knows no bounds. The big name or two I was referring to was a team and their stature/pedigree not an individual player. Look .... so far Brown has only had one major and urgent signing to make which was a replacement goalkeeper (wingers and strikers much vaunted and requested, we already have - however as discussed, maybe not in depth for a whole SPL season). For me, Randolph has been an inspired singing based on his performances so far and he's also on a 3 year deal. I'm sure we will have 2 or newbies in the squad, no doubt delayed by the non-move of Reynolds so far and Fraser hanging around on his peachy salary. I would suggest that the club has implemented a policy where you have to get rid of someone or have the money in place before adding to the squad. I hope all the hanging around hasn't resulted in us missing out on little gem or two, conversely however we may be able to pick someone we didn't think would have been in our price range close to the window closing because they valued their own services too high and turned down other offers. Every player needs to be match fit and has a mortgage/alimony/Designer hairdresser/BMW X5 repayments/Gambling debt/Snooker hall fees/Cruise credit account to pay.

Look all in at present things are like this as far as I can see. Brown and Knox are certainly looking at players to strengthen the team, hence the plethora of trialists we've fielded recently. Next thing to consider is affordability (Leeann) or improvement on what we already have (Brown & Knox). No doubt there have been a few players who have discussed at length. Next is strategy, have there been players we are after but missed out due to cash? Are we holding off on a few in the hope that their wage demands will drop closer to the window? The converse of the second is do we miss out on someone because we played hard-ball or have less of a pool to pick from as the deadline looms. I do see a couple of extra players improving the squad ahead of Odense to a degree where its more even than an uphill struggle. A win over the two legs opens up a lucrative UEFA cash pot and maybe a big name or two at FP.

I got a comment on my page from Tartan Copper asking for me to give Humphrey credit. I think someone didn't get enough hugs as a child. I'll reiterate what I said on the MotM Poll thread and in a PM to him directly. Played really well in the first half, in the 2nd like most of the team was ineffectual due to change in Brown's tactics and not adapting to Aaelsund's 4 up front, hence why Craigan won the MotM and his name being sung. In the second half I remember two 50-50's where he made the wrong choice one in attack when he shot and a pass to an open Murphy (I think) was a better option and one defensive where he should have played the easy ball. Overall he was in the top 4 players on the field and may have been Man of the Match if tactics allowed.

In Top Gear fashion - "Some say he set a record score on Soccer AM's crossbar challenge ...... and he didn't use his feet to strike the ball" ... Hammerfist: knowing glance to camera and raised eyebrow

£2 to witness a footballing legend, I've only ever seen Beckenbauer, Cruyff, Pele and Maradona on TV, but a chance to see Esteban in the flesh it seems too good to be true. What am I going to do with this rampant stiffy until 7pm tomorrow? Can wait to hear an ironic round off applause and cheer if he is subbed for Sutton, he'll be like "what ezzz theeeez all abooouuu". However Cakes pretty much has summed up my feelings too, just with more eruditely.

Star Sail, From a post I made on the Odense vs. Motherwell thread: "Anyway, the recent showing in European competition is pretty decent: In 2006 Europa Cup they met Llanelli and beat them 6-1 on aggregate. The did this after progressing via the Intertoto Cup and playing "Diet Celtic" and winning on away goals: Odense vs. Hibs match report In July 2008 they played Aston Villa in the third round of the Intertoto Cup. OB managed a 2–2 home draw on the 19th but a 1–0 away defeat on the 26th, so missed out 2–3 on aggregate to Aston Villa. OB played Genoa in the UEFA Europa League. First game at Stadio Luigi Ferraris resulted in a 3–1 defeat and the home game gave a 1–1 draw. I think most Motherwell fans would be happy with results of that nature from top teams in two of European footballs top leagues. We are the underdogs in this tie however I reckon they are at the same level as Rangers or Celtic. Its well within us to raise our game at supposedly better opposition (i.e. 2 games vs. Rangers in 2010, we'd have won on aggregate.)"

Just like Dundee Utd.

Love the Wiki addition ... "patient" does that mean "score 2 early on play like school boys for 60 minutes then get a break away goal". That's because he doesn't have a Northern Irish legend leading the line 20 yards in front of him ..... yaaasssss!

I thought there was a chance they were holding off the potential charity to see how things progressed with the Europa draw. Obviously the bigger tie we get (i.e. man City) or as it now appears a realistic chance to get into the group stages then they may get a counter bid based on the higher exposure from a commercial company. Obviously the charity would accept that we'd have to take more money and they were limited in what they could offer. However based on Chick's scoop last night looks like Monday it is.

Thoughts and predictions please.

Are we allowed a big base drum at any of our away SPL fixtures this season?

+1 Humphrey had a very good 1st half however like most of the team fell away in the 2nd. Murphy's touch was excellent as was his desire, pace and unselfishness at the end. Craigan was excellent too and finally with strong striding runs forward Reynolds too is worth noting.

With the Rain Man use of capitals maybe its the assylum. Chopper .... mate, read back through a number of posts where I've mentioned Humphrey, you'll find they are generally "could do better but lets see", not a constant doubter. The job of all footballers is to score, 2nd is to retain possession when you have it by passing the ball to another member of their team. To put countless balls into the penalty spot with nobody there is a waste of calories and oxygen.
