  1. North Lanarkshire Council's new initiative to raise awareness and profile of Netherton via a re-branding exercise. It involves erecting a huge white sign that can be seen from the M74.
  2. Trafficlight, when nobody agrees with you and 10 or so find fault in your argument bow out with grace and don't keep is going as it will be unlikely you'll change anyone's opinion. Just allow the thread to get back onto chat/banter about Thursday.
  3. To be fair to those who went to Albania the club advised (along with the Foreign Office) that it should be avoided as the country appears to be inhabited by prossie smugglers and credit card skimmers.
  4. Also been considering the Forbes discussion that's raged on here and in the Poll thread. In the thread below there is a discussion about if someone offers x amount of points per season they are worth keeping: Shuker Thread I would say despite his leaden boots, apparent laziness/lack of fitness he does contribute significantly to our games. So far he's scored 3 times in 3 games. Last season despite falling away in mid-November he probably contributed directly to at least 10 points by his input. I'd say 90% of his crosses seemed to be in the right area, looked dangerous and put the defence under pressure to deal with them. Humphrey managed 10% if that. I was as annoyed as Hateley when he ignored what they discussed before his 2nd half free kick. So like Kooman do we carry him because of the threat he offers? Ideally he'd be a bit more complete and well rounded however he is a boy and still learning his trade. I suppose a lot of the criticism he gets is from frustrated fans who see/hope for a really class player but are disappointed. He also wouldn't get so much heat on here if he at least appeared to be giving 100% when he plays.
  5. I'm in-between Juan and Pidges arguments on Slane. While on one hand I agree if I was good enough to be a pro and was playing at Clyde or alike and had the chance to join Motherwell however knew there was little chance initially of first team football would I go and take the extra money too ..... I probably would. So in that respect I can't blame him, grew up supporting the unwashed so fair enough. He also didn't listen to Chris McCart's revelation at the Fir Park open discussion thing last year when he said if he had his Celtic hat on then sign up immediately, however as a neutral he thought he should stay at FP as that would offer the best development opportunities. I think its fair to say he probably didn't make the decisions on his future career all by himself, no doubt an agent and family were involved too. I suppose lets wait and see what Craig digs up, Gannon started nearly a year ago and brought some quality with him almost immediately. I don't like the idea of grooming a former player to help him with his future career with a league rival. I also don't like the cloud under which he left, however the response of Boyle and Brown shows they didn't want him to leave, I can't see the same thing happening if/when Fraser leaves.
  6. It would appear the joker is some deluded individual called Andrew Gallacher who has changed items such as his inclusion into the cast of "American Pie". He has a track record of adding crap and being pulled up for it by Wikipedia citing vandalism. He also changed Darren McGregor (St. Mirren from Cowdenbeath) details to his own which have now been corrected. He is 16 and hails from Bellshill. Anyone who goes to the Academy or Cardinal Newman who knows him, feel free to give him a slap when you return for 6th year.
  7. Was Herr Goering an Airdrie fan?
  8. Hammell- 1 word ..... "faultless" Reynolds - games of two halves, Murphy - good first touch, looked brightest on the pitch, Sutton - Was he on the pitch 2nd half?
  9. Guessing with the announcement on the catering that this welcome addition may not be in place this evening?
  10. Don't think so Bliki, however there are some websites/software that allow you to hide your IP address or change it to one from another country (in this case Iceland to the UK) to fool the BBC.

Loving the leather couch decorator ..... if its in Voooooogue!
  12. he's at it ........ unmistakable reverse psychology
  13. The impression I got was Charaloumbis was purchased with the U21's in mind and maybe a few senior games as the season went on and injuries hit. I can't see anything so far to suggest otherwise (i.e. length of contract, Youngy going to Cyprus, what the offical website said of his arrival).
  14. I think a lot of us had written him off, however back in January he played a blinder at Rugby Park from the reports I read. Many hope he can recreate that and that's maybe why he hasn't attracted more abuse and criticism. As a professional footballer who's primary role is to get behind the last man on the wing and play the ball into the box I can't understand why crossing as a major part of his game just doesn't seem to be clicking. Look at Boetang's cross last night for the 3rd goal or almost every cross Beckham ever put in a box, they all looked dangerous and at least beat the first man. Hopefully he'll come good this season because Gannon saw promise in him and tried to capture him before he got his signature for us. However if he isn't performing by Christmas I fear he'll lose the support Andy Roddie style.
  15. We are in the market for someone who fits that description.
  16. Stjarnan = Portsmouth ..... interesting - Pompy are pish whatever language you speak. A few of the Coke-esque pass backs like that one after 35 seconds and we'll be all right I hope, will be tough though.
  17. Sorry, should have clarified, 1 in 3 referred to that in the other two games I felt he was anonymous apart from his petulance and getting cards. The 1 in 3 where he changed the outcome wasn't always positively (Rangers penalty miss). As far as points in a season its not always 3 for a win, sometimes you can be 1-0 down and get a point. I reckon Ruddy certainly got us more last season than O'Brien.
  18. Football is littered with players who promised much, won a move and then didn't ever deliver (Van Vossen, Flo, Rosenthal). Equally there have been many players who a lot of people thought were beyond their best (Cantona, Moravcik, etc.) and subsequently turned out to be a revelation. Sometimes its basic stuff like a personality clash that disrupts a player (Gannon/Craggs), if the fans get behind them or determined there is no future (Fraser), the idea of a fresh start without baggage and no crap happening at home could be the catalyst. Shuker is a bit of a luxury, for me O'Brien really contributed and changed the outcome of about 1 game in 3 so as Kev points out. However if he can come onto a game a influence one in 2 (like Merson) or every game (like Laudrup) then he's worth a punt.
  19. +1, In the middle of September last year Lukas was being derided on here. Herr Flick gets 45 mins and gets abuse. Your use of "Chump" seems rather tame based on your track record, you got a swear jar beside your computer?
  20. Brown sauce, nae onions .... cheers ta!
  21. Unfortunately too much of our support do this without steward intervention. East Stand (section E) borstal posse exempt of course.
  22. "passion and ability" ...... to get a pie out an oven. Good initiative, hope the pricing is fair. Don't suppose they want to consider doing it with the stewarding?
  23. It's a cold soup is it not? Shuker added
