  1. I'd be interested to know if he genuinely thinks his move to Motherwell and the exposure helped him gain a job with the Canaries (60 miles away from Cambridge and his family) or if it was always on the cards due to him being on the books (despite the lack of games) with a Premiership club. If it's the former then I hope agents down south take note and see a load with a consistent Euro qualifying club as a great boost to the career.
  2. Due to him being the Captain of both Motherwell and Northern Ireland and his caps total I wouldn't be surprised if Motherwell played a country XI for the first time with Craggs changing shirts at half time. However Northern Ireland are in a group of 6 and we're in a five so a free international weekend/midweek is out.
  3. I'll find out who gets pinned, at present its two newspapers who are leading the charge which despite the knowing nods and winks from a few on here who claim to have inside knowledge. As for Reynolds, take it the PSV move has lost steam?
  4. Indeed its not however someone is guilty of bringing it to this thread so I'm going to pin them with the negative points in the same way you got your +5
  5. Ying - he hasn't joined Motherwell Yang - got to filter through 50 pages to find out who suggested him first t ogive them -1
  6. Flow implied a 3 or so weeks ago it was just dotting some i's and crossing a few t's and it would be announced in the few days following.
  7. +1 and Jim White at Right Back and Murdo McLeod solves the Right Wing issue.
  8. 3 year deal, seems to be well regarded by the Charlton support, no doubt Archie will put the fear of God into him so he'll never put another rattle out of pram stunt. Glad to see out of the four starters last season (and Reynolds being touted for a move too) we've at least replaced 1 so far (Hollis and Cypriot U-19 would be classed as backup surely). Got to consider Hutchison as effectively a new player too. Just a creative midfielder/winger and a striker (however I think Murphy may step up to the plate this season). Just this season we need to be looking to blood players to fill Craigan and Lasley's positions going forward. Updated post 1 and Jim Gannon memorial Trophy to give the Daily Star 4 points and WellTiliDie one of those as he found the article.
  9. Reckon so, Ruddy played against S Bucharest and was signed after Flamutari if I remember correct.
  10. Does nobody think that the way the new management and commercial teams are leading things (tying up the talented youngsters on long contracts to maximise potential transfer revenue) that this more astute business behaviour may lead to a surprise in what we achieve for Reynolds? Who could have seen Hateley on a 3 year deal 1 month ago for example. I hope we will be surprised and Brown can head off to the toffee shop for a Pole.
  11. Not sure if I should add, Darren Randolph - Charlton Athletic - GK - ? to post #1 as there is nothing official as yet. Anyone seen anything concrete on this matter?
  12. Who rattled your cage there applepip? Didn't realise you were part of the banter police. A wank you say .... you mean like renaming yourself and getting your photo in the Wishaw Press .... not often I've done it however I'm going to agree with Paul Slane. I doff my cap to the ginger one. Randolph added, glad he's over 6ft tall.
  13. How would I go about getting a job as a dinner lady too?
  14. To be fair to McGlinchy he arrived in February just as we had started our run. Can't really expect him to crowbar himself into a team that was performing so well. Also O'Brien was at least showing 110% commitment and wingers tend to be regarded as a luxury by managers. Problem for him is he may have got more games if he was right sided like Humphrey as it would have been an easier challenge.
  15. If he does impress can we maybe look at not slagging him off until mid October at the earliest as that's roughly when the Duke chat went from lazy useless bum to worldbeater in the eyes of many of the well support. Unless he has a few Van Vossen moments ... then I'll lead the chanting.
  16. Granted, but I felt last season Lukas was more suited to shooting and Sutton to heading, therefore complimenting each other. At present I'll take anyone who interacts well with Murphy, McHugh and Sutton. Lets not forget Nacho Novo was an unknown in Spain before he went to Raith Rovers then Dundee. I'm hopeful.
  17. Melvin's right, Reynolds may have no control over things, we could lose out to an astute financial director at a bigger club. I think the best we can hope for we get a bidding war this summer. Coke .... 6 days and counting. Anyone got an idea of the second trialist? The information on Carlos I found on Wikipedia seems different to what Craig seems to be telling the press. I don't know if there's an agent bumming him up a little, Brown not doing his homework or getting stuff confused. "Towering" wouldn't exactly be the traditional type of player to compliment someone like Sutton who's main game is with is head also, however I'll happily be proved wrong.
  18. Dunno .... also as much as I like Reynolds thought there may have been some news on a transfer by now and some wonga (to potentially buy some toffees). Can't help feeling the longer it goes on we may end up with news of a pre-contract signing in January and MFC getting bugger all .... again.
  19. Updated post 1, looking at Rayo Vallecano on Wikipedia, did OK in the Spanish 1st division around 10 years or so, stayed there for 4 seasons. Since then dropped down and bobbed along a bit, trying to think who would be comparable in the Championship currently to that sort of form/history. Actually ...... Spanish Wikipedia link This is where he was before Rayo Vallecano. It references him in the second paragraph. 3,000 seater stadium called Our Lady of the Tower (looks like Dalziel astroturf up at Cleland estate) he may feel at home with a certain high school nearby, finished 9th behind the Real Madrid 3rd team in the 3rd division. Auld Craigie likes a bit of spin does he not? If he's a defender we've won a watch with 23 goals in one season.
  20. Apparently the other half in Seville were supporting a team called "Sellik Ya Bass" sounds Turkish to me.
  21. Welcome to the site Bliki, Thanks for saving us some cash by not having to send a scout ahead of the match. Like you we rely on our youth system. Until the recent management/commercial team took over too many of our talented players left extremely cheaply or on Bosman's. However glad to say we're now securing our young players into 2-3 year deals. We can't ignore your match readiness it will obviously count in your favour as is your current form (many Scottish fans will look back to our WC2010 qualifier against Norway last August). I think many Motherwell fans feel we should be able to continue what we started from January of this year however it looks as if we will start next season 5 or so players down from what we would have definitely made the starting 11 two months ago. I think the hope is we have the experience in our management team, depth of quality in the squad and playing in a higher league should see us through however I don't think anyone feels it is assured as a couple of our Europa qualifiers last summer testify to. Looks like Dundee Utd vs Plymouth Argyle or a Celtic away effort.
  22. If you suggest we make a bid for some of England's "world beaters" ..... then your alright.
  23. The reason its a one day affair is the charter aircraft company doesn't want to leave it overnight for a few days and then find accommodation for the crew or fly it back to the UK in-between and then back to Iceland. Otherwise you start talking silly money for the trip. What the club have offered is the most cost effective without using a scheduled service. As discussed earlier I think all the prices went up shortly after the draw for Air Iceland. Some of the US carriers used to stop en-route however I don't think it happens much now. Personally I'd rather save my money for round 3 and hope for somewhere that doesn't regard clubbing Pingu as a recreational sport.
  24. What's the point .... 1 year deal max, mid thirties, already got a mid-30's seasoned pro playing in the same position, wouldn't like to see him come in and push Saunders and Hutchinson onto the bench. Signing policy so far is get the young guys on 2-3 year contracts, Moore coming in wouldn't make much sense in my eyes however neither does the Jack Ross chat that keeps on coming up.
  25. Should have had "allow" in-between "Would" and "Hatelely".
