  1. Absolutely, plus you'd not only have to convince him to take a drop so not to upset the apple cart, you'd have to convince his agent its a good idea too. Anyone ever heard of a middle man willing to take one step back to take two forward? Footballers live in the now, they don't know if tomorrow they may get a Durrant-esque injury that affects their future earning potential in a major way. Although it would be great for us, I can't see him accepting based on regular/higher profile traded for lower wages, he should be able to do that next year with the same level of prominence as the SPL and maintain the £8k that's been quoted on here.. His increased prominence in the past week has ensured he has ensured a few extra phone calls may be heading Moyes' way.
  2. I'm sure I heard a Uzbeki commentator say that every time Lafferty got the ball when I watched the footage on Utube.
  3. Interesting comments so far, made me think for a while before my decision. I've opted for Hateley, mainly because I feel his last few performances have stuck in the mind due to their freshness among a number of Motherwell fans. I don't even want to contemplate how he would he would have performed if we had a decent right back he could have been left to grown in his holding/defensive midfield role. I also think over the course of the season he has had less hairy moments than Ruddy who's had a few Amaruso (minus the Baileys and Riverboat casino) moments. Consequently Ruddy comes second, jointly with Sutton. Followed by the Juke just for his slow start.
  4. Would have been better if it was £155k and I could have have cheered on Kaiser next week.
  5. Worth a punt, take it we can offer more wages than the Ozzy A League, or is the SPL in such a bad state? Evident that Boyle has had to dip into his pocket this season due to the Celtic fixture, pitch and league place (I'm in no doubt they probably thought 10th was probable 1 year ago when they were formulating the next budget so we've £250k up on what they thought no doubt). Can't help feeling the extra £75 from 5th to 4th place finish may have been the catalyst to secure at least one of the half dozen players who are returning to their clubs or moving on).
  6. I wouldn't say so. Played about 60 minutes total for us. Not really his fault, he joined at the start of the run after Brown arrived. Plus his services are retained by another club. We just facilitated his services for 5 months. I really hope the club didn't pay too much if anything for his services. His club didn't need him as it was their off season and the whole reason for loaning players is they gain experience elsewhere and you get some or all of their wages paid. He was over here to increase his profile and keep him match fit, purely a request for assistance from MFC rather than us needing him. I also don't know if when footballers are quoted as getting £8k per week if that's over 52 weeks or just the duration of the season.
  7. To be fair Gannon gave Jack & Vic a lot of the tools to achieve 1.83 per game. It'd be sour grapes if we moaned, I'd do the same if I was in Houston's position. It was in our hands, we blew it in a number of games over the season, but we also rode our luck in plenty and had a few questionable decisions too. I'm more concerned at losing 13 goals in 8 days. Congrats to the team, exceeded my expectations. Lets see some real acumen with respect to contracts and signings.
  8. Maybe in pre-season training, could we look at lifting the ball over a keeper when through 1 on 1?
  9. Refused to shake Murph's hand ..... walloper
  10. 4 computers per licence. No issues when I got to the father in laws.
  11. Not sure if this has been covered already however, If you know somebody with Sky Sports package you could ask them to register for Sky Player via the website and give a friend or family their log in details to view on line much better than you can get via iraqgoals or p2p4u. Not sure if it'll work if you don't have a UK IP address. I've already given mine to the father in law as I'm heading over there for a BBQ.
  12. Where was flow's first post about the announcements? Just trying to get an idea if I hyped this up in my head or the language used didn't help much.
  13. So those who recorded it will have the Nish interview? Made my night.
  14. Anyone but an online bookies so we can get a chance of a pre-match East stand flutter or a company with a logo or name that allows opposition fans or newspaper journo's plenty of opportunities for puns or abuse.
  15. If that's the montage, its pretty special and its going on my facebook for posterity.
  16. If it is Puma and its a variation on their mint green Hibs effort hang your head in shame.
  17. Those tactics haven't been used by every team we've faced since our run came to an end.

What was affected tonight was the walk up pay at the gate income. Tonight's initiative didn't affect ST holders numbers or experience other than to boost the odd random off their seats. I reckon the club will be even for the night compared to what they would have earned with a £22-10 gate. I think the major issue here is the marketing of the initiative. It could and should have been done better. How easy would it have been to say to Hibs, why not make an announcement at half time in the Hearts game. According to their forum, they found out a few days ago because one of them saw it on here. Summer nights like that are made for football. Ditch arsing about in mid January.
  19. I just can't fathom why assured rock tight defensive performances have turned into something resembling a Saturday morning Boys Brigade game on an ash park. I was chuckling to myself tonight in disbelief at first, now upon reflection, I'm pissed off with how amateur we are looking. I've been one of Craigan's biggest fans since Gannon's departure, I feel he acted like a true professional and stepped up to the plate. Tonight, after watching the Sky highlights, I'm thinking he looked completely out his depth and inept. However it isn't just directed at him, it covers the whole lot of them, Hammell was woeful too and culpable for a few tonight and against the unwashed on Saturday. Reynolds showed glimpses of ability and composure, but they were fleeting. Saunders was the best of a bad bunch on Saturday, almost gave it a null vote on the MotM thread, however tonight at times he was terrorised.
  20. OK, Lukas' strike is finally sinking in, I have the use of my fingers again. I'm concerned considering our last visit to Greyskull that in 100 minutes of football (from McGeady's goal to Hibs 6th) we conceded 10 goals, 1 every 10 minutes, shocking. This was pretty much the same defence in terms of personnel and positioning (minus Hateley) that frugally let in one goal in 11 games earlier this season. WTF has happened?

  22. Its OK, as soon as they find out he aspires to play for Poland and the nationality of the last Pope, they'll quickly lose interest.
  23. Giles' form seems to depend if there was a full moon the night before, I'd agree that Murphy should get a start over Humphrey even if he's on the program front cover. I'd ask Sutton to drop back into midfield for his strength and battling and put Hateley on the right mid.
  24. I think its safe to say Leeann has had bigger fish to fry recently otherwise I think we'd see a few more initiatives. Its not all about reducing prices, its feasible to increase the perceived value of the ticket too. There has been a bit of smoke and mirrors/spin with the release of the pricing structure for next season. There is a significant and growing of malcontent amongst the support and as the summer drags on I think this will be addressed. Personally I won't be renewing my ticket partly due to potential work commitments and secondly as I've seen some of the sums on here and the supporting arguments that lead me to prefer to pick my games next season. Plus if I got a season ticket and get relocated I don't fancy my chances in selling it on.
  25. 110% correct. Hence why the clever clubs will address this and look at new initiatives sooner rather than later. I tend to think the commercial dept at FP fall into this group rather than the head in the sand approach.
