thanks for the link, not working well for me though

I dunno, I'd rather go into Wednesday night 1 point ahead against a team who are nose diving so its completely up to ourselves if we beat them and we wrap it up before the weekend, especially with the fact our goal difference is so close. Essentially 4th place is ours if we do the business against Hibs.
-
Excellent result for us, if we win on Wednesday night then we're 4 points clear, with one game left (that is if we get nothing today however I'm optimistic with them playing Rangers on Tuesday - I thought evening OF games were banned by the cops?). Finishing 4th is also worth an extra £75k in SPL prize money. Also for those who are interested check out iraqgoals.net or firstrow.net for the live coverage, if they do it with Celtic TV coverage, watch the half time show and cringe at how woeful it is. It is to TV what Mowbray's team was to football at St. Mirren a few weeks ago.

Somebody got Gannon's mobile, see who he'd recommend?

Title says it all really. Enjoyed a wee flutter before a game and it meant I showed up that little bit earlier to ensure I got it done before 3pm. Also designed as a little memory jogger for those in the shiney towers at FP to get on the phone and not overlook this for the start of next season.

Don't have to buy it, it is on the website. Evening Times Jennings

Thing I don't fully understand is why after announcing this a few days ago, Flow allowed the Evening Times to get the scoop rather than the club website.

Essentially this is an initiative to increase our attendance which shows commitment from the top even if we may lose money initially. Hopefully some kids who go along in 2010/11 will continue to attend in the years ahead. I know of a couple of Well fans who fell by the wayside when they had kids due to how much time it take up, if this encourages well support back then ideal but I'd suggest it needs followed up with flyers to all local primary and secondary schools and maybe something at local supermarkets (ASDA Motherwell, Newmains, Morrisons Bellshill and Wishaw) over the next couple of months. I would argue however that if a child has a Motherwell supporting parent who is inclined to buy a season ticket then that child would probably have an affinity with MFC through their role model and every wee boy likes to seek his Dad's approval, so most of the kids target will have or would probably visited FP in the past. This may get them to visit more regularly. I don't know how the working week of a youth team member is made up now, when I was a lad and spoke to any mates that got S-Forms it seemed to be 10am start, bit of fitness, bit of set pieces, bit more fitness, bounce game, physio, bookies/snooker hall. Why not send 2-3 of them plus a few fringe fist team players out for 1-2 afternoons a week to primary and secondry schools to coach them. That will increase affinity with the club especially if they give out the odd ticket to the best trainer or most improved player.

I think its safe to say that in 2010 the moral in the dressing room is pretty high, Lukas' BBC interview is a prime example.
-
As discussed elsewhere at length, while its a excellent offer for those with children who are old enough to appreciate it, maybe targeting youngsters with a family member who is already committed to the club to buy a season ticket isn't who we should be going after to increase our attendances. To increase them we need to go after the children of OF fans who live in our natural catchment area of Motherwell, Wishaw, Bellshill, New Stevenson, etc. with the proximity of being able to attend easy and cost effective.

1 down, 1 to go

quality Annoyed with Flow for dropping this 2 announcement this week thing on Sunday and its now Thursday afternoon and not a pook so far, been scouring the official site for news since Monday morning.

Lennon seems popular with the players so they know a win will give his bid for manager a bit of extra weight. Hopefully Crags will last the game and give the defence some needed calmness this time. If he does have to go off then hopefully Hutchison can step into the breech as it appears he is the natural replacement over time. Would be good if Coke could maintain what he did against Hearts.

Its only a 10 minute walk to the centre of the Ravesncraig site from FP, not something needing a train or a car journey with 2 pee stops. It'll take even less time after they bulldoze the Evans Halshaw garage and link with the main roundabout in Ravenscraig. I reckon the new inhabitants would be just as inclined to visit FP as they would if it was built on the site. Of course its all a bit pie in the sky, however we can dream can't we, in the same way I think its feasible to think a club like Motherwell may win the league, I don't think we'll ever win the Champions League. I think a move away from FP is possible and think its equally valid to discuss it on a website such as this. Ravesncraig is the best chance and location if we chose to move however I think its safe to say its a while off as JB's heart isn't full in it and MFC has cost him more than I'm sure he ever envisaged. NLC got their fingers burned financially with Clyde and Broadwood. Revenues from real estate are low and with the new proposals for the old Motherwell College site then the sale of FP would further dilute the revenue we could expect. Not to mention the fact that Ravenscraig has been divided up, however lets not forget there was a plan to make an indoor ski slope on the slag heap at the Carfin end. These masterplan's often changed. Despite everything there will be no cash for a few years either from the EU, UK government, local enterprise agencies, Scottish Government, NLC or the club itself.
-
Is that where Jossie's Giants play? I think if we do move to Ravenscraig then the site and the area needs a landmark building to highlight the development and used as a focus. Also good for marketing material (i.e. see Wembley and the arch and how its used by the London burgh, Sydney Opera House, Falkirk Wheel, etc.). If the Lanarkshire Development Agency or whatever its called now realise this then they could really do something with this going forward. Something like the Wall which is unique and innovative would certainly attract a lot of interest and indirect income going forward.

If I said, Hateley is not resigning because of this guy then you are well entitled to post your little rant, however I posed an open question. I guess you are still miffed I reminded everyone you were advocating Fraser to be used over Ruddy. Now next time when the red mist descends, count to 10, go to your happy place or go and lie down in a darkened room before your impulses compel you to post on here.
-
Mebbes. Could also be that Brown/Dempster are throwing down the gauntlet to let him know he isn't the be all and end all of this team.

Anyone still think Hateley is resigning? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ell/8647567.stm

So ...... "Shit happens wee provincial team, you have to understand Celtic and their substantially bigger influence and fan base call the shots because I can assure you, over the course of a week I personally have more interaction with Old Firm fans and to unfairly treat MFC causes me far less hassle and abuse. I would add in the past 5 years or so, Celtic haven't been adversely affected by the split, however Rangers have twice, I still find it funny how the unwashed support claim conspiracy when it suits them. I also can't comment if they put unfair influence on a return to Fir Park by their criticism of Falkirk FC's pitch earlier in the season, which I can tell you was designed to take away from the woeful management of Tony Mowbray and to a greater extent, the board for appointing him. So dry your eyes little team, you have a third home game against the team with the worst form of late, however you can kiss the £150k you could expect from what everyone would expect as being a reward for finishing in the top six goodbye. Oh yes and don't forget, we'll move both your two remaining games from Saturday's at 3pm further impacting on your commercial revenues." Cue Dr Evil laugh.

The straight sections are very similar to Tynecastle. I want the Wall, after all our local neds need a hill to roll down after downing their buckie

There is a deal of naivety on here about the financial situation of the club. We have been affected financially by every one of the post split fixtures, where is our reward for finishing top six? It appears the penalty will be approximately £100k + and this is cash John Boyle has to find from his own pocket. OK, he's worth a bob or two but this is still a huge amount of money in a season that looked so promising a few months ago. The impact of reducing the season ticket price by even £10 would have a major implication for the forward budgeting of the club. I think what's important here we recognise that events have conspired against MFC this season and to be fair they have fought their/our corner vociferously. A season ticket allows a club to forward plan based upon a guaranteed income at the start of the season. By facilitating a repayment scheme they still have to ensure they get their money, therefore leading to a third company arranging it as a personal loan, otherwise if there was no penalty and the team was doing particularly poorly then there would no doubt that some would default on further payments leaving the club in quite a problematic position. There has been comments on this website to that effect already and despite this seasons league position whcih has be considered a success based on May 2009.
