  1. That's always my biggest worry when we're 1-0 up. Not only is it a dangerous game to play, but our defence isn't reliable enough to do it! No. 2 quickly please
  2. I agree with the sentiment about not abusing our players but Higdon was gash today, and has been for the last wee while. It's nothing to do with him getting the support, it's about him not having the confidence, and as a result he has lost the drive and determination to do what he was brought in to do seemingly. Murphy isn't playing well at the moment either, but I suspect that's as much to do with us having seemingly reverted to long ball tactics (which don't suit us at all) combined with the dip in form of his as well.
  3. McHugh's goal reminded me very much of Skippy's tenacity today. Outstanding. Deserved the win. A little disappointed with the overall performance but a win is a win!
  4. Long way to go yet, but sounds entertaining!

  6. agreed Even if Rangers did get a 10 point penalty deduction, they'd still beat us in the league and we widnae qualify for that tournament anyway
  7. If anyone has any problems with being quoted on the STV websites or indeed any other media outlet, please let me know. The forum is part of public record however, and anything that is said on here is out there and fair game for being quoted.
  8. We beat Manchester United 1-0 in the Sir Matt Busby shield at Fir Park. What I want to know are two things: A. anyone got a programme from the day they might be prepared to part with? B. anyone got a picture of the scoreboard on 90 minutes from that day? Sure I remember someone on here with something similar
  9. That's amazing if true, potentially screwed up big time there by letting a player go when we could've gotten some decent cash or return for him.
  10. There is something to apologise for... it's whether or not you feel the need to do it that's relevant. You're supposedly involved with the club on this Supporters Advisory Committee, and as such you supposedly have a position of trust to represent all fans from all backgrounds at any level. Personally? I don't care about the statement much, but whether or not you should be seen to be caring or not is another sentiment entirely. As for the thread as a whole, get it back on topic or it'll be locked.
  11. Alright alright folks, we've had our fun... can it now. This thread is needing locked till January me thinks
  12. Can i just ask what would happen if someone wanted to come in and buy the club for a large sum of money some time down the line? Would it involve all the 'Well Society members having the option of getting their money back (either with or without a profit)?
  13. They finished 4th actually, they lost their 3rd&4th place playoff match to Peru I think. 4th is the highest they have ever been in the COPA America, they have never played in a world cup and only 10 or so years ago they were around 125th in the world rankings. I think Scotland would beat them. EDIT: Oh and looking at Paraguay statistics. Venezuela have played Paraguay 21 times competitively. Venezuela's record: W2 D4 L15 - Goal Difference: -25

And there was me thinking this thread was about James McFadden
  15. This is exactly why the FIFA world rankings are a load of shite e.g Burkina Faso are 40th, Venezuela 44th, Honduras 50th, Cape Verde Islands 72nd. Aye ok then. Then you have the likes of Romania (54th), Scotland (55th), Poland (65th) and Austria (68th) - all of which would comfortably beat the above teams. We play the worlds best teams in our qualification zone. Honduras play, amongst others, Cuba, Jamaica, Trinidad, Bahamas, Panama etc etc - all of which are poop. Cape Verde islands?! Surprised they've even got enough players to field a team. FIFA World Rankings? Shite.

For the August Player of the Month – Vote Here
  17. So has Omar Daley actually signed for us yet?
  18. Yeah, like who? Saunders is out or he'd most likely have been in. No one else anywhere near deserving of a place.
  19. not related really, but does anyone know what is happening with Faddy? Scotland's golden boy really needs to get a club for some fitness and game time. If nowt has been arranged by tomorrow, we should just chuck him an offer of a deal till January to get his fitness up. I know he won't accept it, but we should do it out of courtesy anyway
  20. ahh, always get a bit excited when I see a furriner sign!!
  21. Sorry if I've missed something been away loads lately, but eh, who is Hermann Mboa Mekongo?
  22. Festival Season 2011 - DONE :D
