is it maybe something to do with the fact that killie are playing aberdeen this midweek? Is it at pittodrie or rugby park, not sure?

could the club not loan / hire our heated balloon thingy to Inverurie for the game?

Ross County? That's over 100 miles away from Inverurie! Peterheads ground isn't really all that much better either, and their pitch protection won't be any better than inverurie. I'd be very much against forcing Inverurie to play their game elsewhere, as it's there prerogative, regardless of what level of football they play at. But i see where you're coming from

Topics merged. I agree with you Neil, although not sure they will ask for a switch.
  10. Further to a previous post, thought i'd put one up so that no one would miss it: Aberdeen FC and Inverurie's Ground Staff have failed in their attempt to get the pitch ready for the Scottish Cup tie to go ahead tomorrow, therefore the game has been postponed. The match is re-scheduled for Wednesday 21st January 2009 at 19:45.

10-11am for a pitch inspection is leaving it a bit late for travelling fans no?

    Chris Porter

I love the Express! 'Mon the Chrissy... reckon he could become a real favourite at Fir Park if he stays on... even if just to guarantee us a good transfer fee.

if it's anything like the Butchers Arms on George St, it'll be rubbish! P.S nice and mild up here this morning, with a forecast of 10C tomorrow in the north east, game will be going ahead by the looks of things. Expect a strong wind though, wrap up! (and no, I'm not having a curry tonight...)

Aye, you're right... but then no one complains nearly as much when you've got the 3 points in the bag

    Chris Porter

Anyone know how Chris Porters injury is shaping up? Nothing serious I hope? If there's any risk, I'd hope that Mark McGhee would bench him on Saturday against Inverurie in favour of Jamie Murphy. I know we're not a team that's really able to rest players for cup games against small teams, but surely one player wouldn't make a difference when it comes to keeping him fit for our climb up the league? On the note of big Ports... I know his contract is up in the summer, and that he may very well leave for a fee in January, but does anyone know if the club are actually trying too keep him and offer him a new deal? I understand that his wages are pretty high, but it seems that Boyle took a gamble on him with the wages and it paid off.. surely it'd make more financial sense to get him tied up on another 2 year deal, and if he continues to form, punt him for the sort of fee we got for McDonald? Does anyone know Ports at all? I wonder if he'd be amenable to doing that? I'd be absolutely over the moon if he were to agree to stay, but I've a feeling that any decision on that would be based on how high we can climb the league or how far we can get in the cups.
