  1. With regards to SOD I've not been shouting about him, but its noticable this season that his decision making has been poor - A confidence thing, I don't know? There have been a catalogue of errors leading to goals. Yesterday he's wrong side of Dalby, he needs to sort that and get closer/disrupt the header (without fouling/jersey pulling etc). He seems more effective when hes either backs to the wall, or if he's being used in a more attacking sense as a WB/RB, although I think the issue he may face now is he's at an age where his legs are going. He's a seasoned Pro and under Clarke's direction played well, so hopefully Wimmer can get him to click.
  2. There's a thread over on P&B discussing similar and unfortunately its endemic in the Scottish game, where -in general- they give the impression of doing the minimum required to get by. Managers that come in to try and raise standards/culture get riduculed. The 'best dressing room bantz ever' seems to take priority over knuckling down and aspiring to continual improvement - Theres obviously a healthy balance that can be struck. As we saw in McGhees first tenure, you are at an immediate advantage in this league if you get fitter and sharper. We like comparing ourselves to the EPL, but its entirely noticeable that down there they are absolute athletes and units. Generalising and simplifying, but it does seem a thing in Scottish football.
  3. SK now doing the interview rounds with Sky Sports. Starting to make a bit of a coño of himself now letting this drag on.
  4. To be fair to Kenny McIntyre, on Sat he said he misjudged the situation at Fir Park and essentially was initially taking things at face value (5th, Cup semi etc) and was unaware of the issues around style of play, 1 shot on goal etc.
  5. One final thing. He notes his family (apparent Rangers fans) were in hospitality at the Aberdeen game. I was hospitality as well and there were cheers going up when Rangers scored (Game was on the TV). I was a bit bemused at the time, but makes more sense now, although could be circumstantial.
  6. There's a few things which are incongruent in the whole piece. He talks at length about instances of abuse and his family hearing them, but says he hadn't even thought about resigning before the St Johnstone game, which he goes on to say his family weren't even at. Sounds a bit rage-quitty tbh I think despite him previously saying he'll never listen to fans etc, she'sclearly had clearly his ego dented. I think there are times for a dignified silence.
  7. Possibly a bit simplistic here, but a high/intense press is a bit of a no-brainer in our league, because if its deployed effectively (like Postecoglou's Celtic) most teams don't have the players with the technical ability to play round it.
  8. Yeah, the club analysts will feed them the required info on a game by game basis until they're up to speed.
  9. Stephen Frail has now left the club.
  10. Yeah, the comms so far make this quite quite exciting. Onwards and upwards. Will get Miller used to working with a German Coach before he heads to the Bundesliga as well.
  11. Permit sorted already anyway https://x.com/MotherwellFC/status/1891428101411815456?t=8slVfcktDENuLeycDbnHTw&s=19
  12. Work permit for football slightly different and looks like, in laymans terms, the bar for SFA 'expeptional' approval is slightly lower than that of the FA. That's how Rangers managed to sign Jefté. This was the related link posted on P&B: https://www.agcc.co.uk/blog-article/home-advantage-how-visa-rules-can-mean-a-win-for-scottish-football-clubs
  13. The German guy apparently didn't know anything about it.
  14. Lennon is also just coming back from Tenerife
  15. Even better, Assistant at Ajax prior to that.
  16. Mitchell Van Der Gaag was in POD today apparently, for what its worth.
  17. New Manager in to kick a few arses. All well and good there apparently being great craic in the dressing room, but folk need to get there arse in gear on Matchdays.
  18. Absolute joke the keeper being beaten from there.
  19. Dubrovnik in July and possibly Legoland or Disneyland Paris. Also the annual pilgrimage to Ibiza in Sep again most likely. Off to Arran for a week in Apr as well.
  20. Temuri Ketsbaia the latest name to be thrown in
  21. Regarding the previous Gerrard chat, I know it was largely tongue in vheek, but apparently Carlisle are approaching him.
  22. Luke Amos has been mutualled by Hibs. Possibly outwith our wage budget though.
