After about 10 mins I was wishing I hadn't bothered and had just gone to pub. Grim stuff. Second half much better and could have had more if it weren't for poor decision making/final balls. People may disagree, but thought we missed Frear. Seem to get further down the wing and more crosses in with him on (particularly looking at first half) Can't complain about the 3 pts though. Onwards and upwards

I'd be less than surprised if he has agreed a (pre)pre-contract somewhere, which he can sign (legitimately) in Jan.

Scottish Premiership Game 2: St Johnstone (A) Saturday 12/08/17

Not sure why Jack would have his card rescinded. He motioned to head butt and it was clear violent conduct. Stokes should have been off too, but that's completely irrelevant in terms of the appeal. -

Playing out and passing about from the back all preseason. Now route 1.

I don't think Rangers have a significantly superior team to us anymore. Only recently they have been very much humbled. Its refreshing to har Robinson say "All we hear is Rangers this, Rangers that" and then concentrate on us. There's a difference between giving the opponent respect and being aware of their dangers rather than sitting in, inviting pressure and surrendering possession. We shouldn't approach this game with any more concern than we would Aberdeen or St Johnstone. We seem to have a lot more pace in the team, in preseason have retained the ball well and look to have goals throughout the team. Should approach this with a positive mentality and as others have said, play our own game and aim for the win.

Tend to agree re Moult, but its good we're talkung him up. Hopefully it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. The media certainly seem to be parroting positive stuff about him anyway. We've had the opposite plenty of times where we've pleaded poverty etc and ended up with paltry sums. The club seems to be heading in the right direction in terms of 'marketing' players. Either way we've got a good player onbour hands, so I guess its win-win with him. With plummer, I remember him in that opening game of the season v St Mirren and even commented on him to my St Mirren supporting mate. Seemed to have decent pace/touch/skill etc so hopefully he finds decent form with us.

For all the last 2 games have been frustrating and a close call, the positive thing is we've kept at it and eventually ground out the results. Ball retention has been pretty good as well, although youd maybe expect that given the opposition.
-
At the end of the day ground it out, which is all that matters really. Hearts have just been beaten by Peterhead and Accies drew with Albion Rovers, for a bit of perspective.

Its good that we've been scoring plenty of goals and they seem spread throughout the team. Whilst I wasn't really a Samson basher, a huge frustration was him holdibg up play and taking forever to release the ball. Carsob seems keen to get his head up and look immediately to start an attack. McHugh and Bigi look a decent pairing. They might get less time on the ball in the centre of midfield in the Premiership slightly, but I like the methodical approach and constantly recycling the ball and retaining possession, rather than aimless/rushed balls etc. Scottish crowds tend to be slightly impatient with that, but if we've got the ball, they can't score. Look to have a bit more pace/strength in the team now too.

Bowman again. 2 decent finishes.

Saw an official tweet earlier that the car park would be available in a first come, first served basis.

Could be decent business with the "sizeable sell on clause"
-
Not sure about Club 100 (Fir Park Club), but the Electric Bar has been renovated over the past year or so and is pretty decent.
-
Avoid relegation and play-off. Semi-decent cup run, although this is very much down to luck of the early round draws. Last year's draws were harsh.

Ayr away please. Wouldn't mind Cappielow either.

Yeah, never had any negative feeings towards him either. To his credit, he comes out and confronts things, whether it be on Twitter or interviews etc, when it could be easier to just hide. I think some have alluded to this too, but there's sometimes a certain snobbery towards him because he was an 'ordinary' fan. It doesn't help either that his role gets exaggerated. Everyone starts somewhere. The club isn't perfect, but there have been certain positive things put in place, particularly off the field, which would be more within his remit than player/managerial appointments etc. Don't know him personally, but he clearly has the club's best interests at heart and I've witnessed him in the main stand getting just as exasperated as the rest of us during games. I think he's an asset tbh.

I guess it comes down to whether we could bring someone in who could match/better Ainsworth in terms of quality/attributes etc - even if it is as an impact sub etc. I don't think we could, he's a useful player to have, so its basically down to wage demands.

Knowing the media, there will probably be an exclusive linking us with Mackin.
