I enjoyed us against rangers last year with ojaama and murphy up top! Looked creative, think ojaama is quality (for us) hard working and the sort of player to get u off it seat no he is not perfect but what perfect player have we ever had! Higdon did well but he would be used like "Carroll" for me bringing him on of plan a is not working!

We don't really create too many messi or xavi in this country either though! I agree and was annoyed when people say bannan can't play in the centre for scotland because he is too small! I also agree that this lump it forward culture has to end and well have been at the forefront of this with mcall and gannon! But we are not creating players like balotelli or drogba with pace and power we seem to be stuck with the likes of Lenny millar who work hard but are pretty low quality! But back to well I think we could get foreigners cheaper than English Players who would also be of a higher quality!

We maybe keep the personnel insults out of it what I said was personnel opinion based on what I have seen and read and is def not fact or gospel and nor was it presented as such! The epl is awash with foreigners now of u read what I wrote I said back in the early days when cantona Zola et al improved English players diet training etc! I only suggest 2-3 foriegn players instead of English players we currently buy! If you watch well play Celtic next season purely by height and weight were behind! Then watch the epl players bigger and stronger again! This is just a very small but immediate part of the jigsaw and the chances to both lifestyle and training need to come in longer term! But shouldn't we model our football on smaller countries who are doing well I.e Denmark or Belgium? And import knowledge and talent to supplement our own? With our players going south, faddy lacks pace and in a league like England pace is key, even over technique I.e Walcott! The English league also destroys players due to its physicality look at Torres! Who is to say a McFadden who went to hereveen (sp?) would not have improved and been less injury prone and ended up at Ajax or a middle of the road serie a team?

Its not about pandering to forigners its about getting in talent that makes our boys better! I dont want to see 15 brazilians in the Well side next year. 2-3 like what happened at the beginning of the EPL that teaches our players to play in a more technical manner. Look at the Euros England looked like a team of cave men compared to most sides for due possession football and movement. From watching well youngsters they could compete (Not with pirlo or Xavi) with that style but Scots youngsters are smaller and slower (on average) than the english players. Anything that moves them to countries like holland, italy and spain were there talents will be nurturted than spat out in the english leagues. Murphy Reynolds and faddy before are built for european football. 3-4 Forgieners instead of the 3-4 english players would make well not only a better side but also improve our youngsters and i would argue be cheaper!

I agree we should be looking for the youth teamers to come through! But we should be looking to supplement them with talent from overseas. Has Mcall says we are so far behind england in terms of money. This is only going to get worse with the new tv deal! So we should start comparing like with like look at Denmark Belgium Croatia Norway and Sweden Countries of a similiar size. What players are there teams full of (bar there own nationalities ofcourse!) Africans,South Americans, Portugese etc. I see very few english players in these divisions. This would introduce our youngsters to different cultures and styles of play. As well as increase the small chance of them actually going overseas and not going to the english wasteland!

Hey havnt posted in a while but this pre season made me post. Have loved the time under Mcall but slightly put off by a comment he said recently. "Last season, we were fighting with League Two and some non-league clubs in terms of wages," he said. "Now, I can't even get near anyone's wages down there" So why don't we look slightly further a field there is no embarresment for a country the size of scotland and a club the size of Motherwell not competing with England! But I am sure there are French Portugese Romanian Polish Brazilians etc out there that will sign for far less wages especially selling 1 or 2 years and then you get english football. Look at Ojamma (i know he played in England) but an Estonian not pulling up trees in Finland IIR. Prob pushed us on to get CL footy. Instead of spending bug wages (for us) on a 30 year old from england why not buy 2-3 players from abroad for the same wages. I know this will be more difficult but we should try to be different not just look for english failures.

One question leaps out at me from eddie forrest interview why on earth are we still paying him money 8 years on he had a three year deal now seems to be eight! Should be grateful for that! It simple cardiff owe us the money and if there are skint and trying hard to get the money then fine but there buying players that would walk into old firm we should get our money! If they went into adminstration and paid us 2p in the pound would be annoying but that is fine there just cheating (like most clubs with debt)

Were do you see us finishing if your honest i think about 8th at the moment. we do need to replace JOB because he did create lots of space with his running that worried defenders, maybe statistics say another player got more assists but how many times is the opta MOM the same as the actual MOM. A new striker is also a must if we are to finish higher sutton really struggles to go for 90 mins and this means we lose alot going forward for the last 2o mins. Would also like to see a couple of loaness coming in to make up a bigger squad prob a defender plus a midfield player.

We need to strengthen but because we have waited so long i cant see were the players are coming from! We need a Winger a ball playing midfielder and striker and ifwe can only get two then a striker and a winger! Sutton is not good enough to start for us anymore we should of been replacing players like that with better quality! The squad we have know would only be looking at comfortable bottom six i would say. Have they looked at it and seen Killie and St mirren and thought there down we dont need to invest this year! Would be annoying if that was true there MUST be young players kicking about europe who can come in and do a job for us out wide or up front!

Need to give him a chance cheap back player! But get rid of Fraser and put his wages towards a new one seems fair enough

Fitz has had an unlucky spell with injuries he deserves a chance to get himself fit even if he had onlyscored against hearts in that cis semi. But he hasnt been a good player for us the last few years yeah isnt ronaldo but he wouldnt still be here if he was trust me other spl clubs would love to produce talent the way this club does and some supporters should relise there not all going to be a mcfadden!

Glad to see fitz sign up good spl mid player when fit hope he stays clear of injuries. There plenty of young players we can bring in then sell on with a bit of imagination

Interestin players volz prob out of wage budget burgess is quality, brian corr from Exeter is a decent target man from exter city. Sean Thornton is a good midfielder warren feeney would be too expensive as well but also good. Interestin site I would use it to narrow down scoutin trips

Wouldnt really want to waste the clubs money on duff very workman like a bit of a cart horse. What about the the lad benji from hibs been relesed always thought he looked good would be decent replacement for Jim add some creativity and goals from midfield.

Clarkson equals leg end! Worked hard every game and left everything out on the field! Never the most skillful player but would have him back in a heartbeat

winging headers on the wing is alot easier than in middle cause full backs are smaller (on average) than center halfs. still dont think he is quiet good enough would like a new porter (who he was bought to replace) and he just cant do what he could. Yes he does score some goals both important and amazing. But i remember seeing Big jim hamilton score amazing goals didnt mean he should still be on our books. Defo not saying that sutton should be sold but i dont love him and when he does leave he wont leave the memories or love that i have for porter faddy or clarkson but is a steady player.

One thing that will be interesting is the restructuring of the spl if it happens for 2011/12 that will mean no relegation next year with us losing money last year do you think we might skimp on signings and rely on youngsters a bit more. wouldnt like this to happen but can think a few spl clubs might make cut backs this year especially killie st midden.

Still dont love sutton think he is over rated but does score goals for us is a simple player who scores tap ins. We need a player who can hold the ball up front and score headers think duke and murphy are better players starting to see murphy coming into his own. Really need to find some wingers so that murphy or sutton can play up front next year.

Would love us to buy tuffey suppose to be a quality keeper and must be within our price range! Dont really rate bryson too highly but would give him a chance! need wing players to replace Jim and one on the left! Higdon and Mehmet are awful players would be upset to see them with a well shirt on barr and arfield would be amazing but out of our league always rated taouil so would like him.

Work with a Dundee Season ticket holder and he says Kimpl been awful after a decent start, rumours he is on huge contract (OF proportions) so if he doesnt mind a wage cut could end up at dons. Think Mcghee trying to replacate his first season success kyle would be porter (though not any were near as good!) and kimpl would add steal. I would go near any of them if I was well manager too much money for players that would not get in our first eleven

Sounds like a good wee player bit more experince and some good players at that level, hopesaunders still gets a chance to play but Rhys could help him
