  1. Heated spa this time of year & im looking forward to the A league starting but as usual i'll be fed up with it after about 4 games
  2. I think you will find that Hibs are a bigger attraction for Blackpool fans than Motherwell are. When playing a home friendly you have to pay for stewarding, policing, catering, cleaning etc so you want to play against a team that will tempt your own fans to attend & like it or not Hibs are a much more recognised club than Motherwell.
  3. What incentive would there be for a Leeds or Blackpool to invite Motherwell down to play? It's not exactly gonna be a crowd puller for them is it. It would be like us inviting EK Thistle to Fir Park & watch the crowd roll in
  4. Humour is subjective hence why some people find the Vicar of Dibley to be funny and why Seinfeld often wins best tv sitcom of all time. Personally id rather watch the mould firm than either of those shows but hey ho each to their own.
  5. You just know that the goal machine will go on & have a blinder of a season at wherever he ends up. Anyone know what happened to Shivute when he left us?
  6. Same as i do every Saturday take the wee fella to the beach in the morning & sink a couple of coldies in the afternoon in the backgarden spa The thing is the fitba wasn't on here til the wee small hours of Sunday morning so close season or season on makes no difference to a Saturday here.
  7. Don't think i want him which could put me in the Minority. Report came out that he's done his hammy jumping on a couch. Maybe if he was fully fit the difference could be Knight And Day.
  8. By diddy teams i mean teams like Accies who are always gonna be fighting relegation no matter what size the league is. The trouble is the OF will never agree to share the wealth so chairmen with balls required to vote for an SPL without the OF. Much better league, more equal reasources & no weekly bile. Everyone's a winner except the OF but who gives a toss about them. When they stated that first chance they get they will be off then they made their bed so they can lie in it.
  9. The problem is no matter what format you go with Scotland has too many diddy teams. If you have a 14 team set up with the diddy teams fighting relegation you have the mid table teams left with mid/end of season dross which results in falling attendences. If you have a 10 team set up you have have half the league fearing for their very existence which leads to dross games and again falling attendence. I'm not proposing to know the answer but i can't see either of these formats making football more attractive to the Motherwell, Hibs, St. Johnstone fans of the world.
  10. Talking about nicking things World Cup in Mexico'86 the English commentators came up with the phrase the Mexican wave. However just because it's the first time they have seen it does not mean it's the first time it's happened. If they had bothered there arse to do some research they would have found that supporters of American football where doing it long before the Mexican world cup. I believe the first time i seen it was on Channel 4 and the Miami Dolphin supporters were doing it. Not being an English prat i didn't decide to call it the Miami wave because i wouldn't be so arrogant to presume no one else had already done it.
  11. Stuart McCall in a suit was the highlight of the final fair made me laugh
  12. You can pick up Sutton's kit for next to nothing as he no longer needs it as he has a shiny new jambo minging thing.
  13. Looks like a few people will be changing their avatar now What i don't get is this we've been punching above our weight mentality. In the current finacial climate and the amount of debt acrued by clubs Motherwell are in a pretty solid position. So someone please tell me what exactly is the weight we should be punching at? What level do you think Motherwell should be and anything more is punching above our weight? We have good games and bad games like everyone else but as soon as we put a run of good games together all of a sudden we are punching above our weight yet when we put a run of bad results together no one ever says we are punching below our weight.
  14. You can spout names out til your blue in the face but unless you are familiar with the players from the Shrewsbury's, the Northampton's etc. then you will find we sign players you've never heard of. It's the Motherwell way.
  15. The defence launches the drunken shenanigans appeal. But then the prosecution hits back with unless the perpatrator is in the habit of taking a set of screwdrivers on a night out then it reeks of pre meditation and hardly a spur of the moment drunken prank. Ooh the plot thickens. Judge Judy is gonna have her work cut out on this one
  16. But wasn't he just allround gash at the point? If my memory serves me right he came onto a bit of form after the St Mirren game. And by jings there's loads of people living in dreamland here with some of the friendlies that are being mentioned. When was the last time Motherwell played a friendly against a team that wasn't in the Scottish lower divisions or the highland league? See no reason for it to be any different this year especially with the shortened pre season. Oh and just looking at the SPL friendlies already announced there's a good chance we'll play Livingston as every other team seems to have them lined up.
  17. For me next year we will have a fairly solid back 4 with Randy, Saunders, Hutchinson & Hammel. But we will need to make serious improvements to centre mid if Jennings leaves & Lasley isn't getting any younger we could be really struggling there. Up front if Jeffers & sutton leave then we have no recognised centre forward either. McCall's got a lot of wheeling & dealing to do.
  18. Love how when the news first broke it was a disgrace & some people are scum but then when it was found out that it was one of the regular posters then all of a sudden it was just a jolly wheez.
  19. Slightly off topic but in one of these friendlies id like to see Hump playing behind Sutton or whoever or big striker is ala Rooney (only not as good). The big man wins the ball & Hump picks up the knock down & he's charging straight at their central defence plus his shooting is better than his crossing. Just try it in one meaningless friendly just to see if it would work.
  20. No point kidding ourselves its a sure thing our pre season will be a tour of the highlands or couple of away ties to 2nd/3rd division teams with someone like Ayr being the highlight.
  21. Make that 38 clubs as i think you'll find Dundee Utd want Celtic to win so they get into Europe.
  22. Im up coz it's just shy of 4pm here. Cup final's a midnight kick off for me
  23. Jings all this time i thought 100% was the maximum you could give! Next someone will be telling me that a circle isn't really 360º it's actually 400º
  24. Indeed i have the only trouble is i believe it will be a midnight kick off here so i might have to start tanking it early
  25. If your calling the Stone Roses old skool then your obviously just a youngster.
