With a lot of them it comes down to lack of ambition. How many times have we heard of players form smaller teams moving to the mould firm knowing fine well that if they are lucky they will make the bench. Many times these players have been on the verge of international call ups but a lack of ambition means they go to warm some other mobs bench before disappearing into obscurity. Although a lot of it has to do with them getting more money to warm someone elses bench it's mainly lack of ambition. Any class player who has ambition will stay at the smaller club to improve their technique then when their big move comes it will be to a bigger team that they are good enough to play for and they will get the big money.

If the lie had zero consequences then why is Craven out of a job? The bottom line is an official in a game of sport lied therefore bringing the game into disrepute and should therefore be shown the door. Too many people saying he shouldn't go because then Celtic win. It had nothing to do with Celtic it's about an official bringing the game into disrepute & there should be nowhere back from there. Can't disagree as i said i can only go on what other people say & the buzz around here seems to be Lasley is the Chosen One. Now i admit i take such views with a pinch of salt but im not in a position to put up a different view. The general opinion is that the whole team played very well against St Johnstone without Lasley so is he as important as people make out? I honestly dont know but im interested if Gow is an asset to what could be an understrength position next year. If he is going to be then we really should be doing our best to keep him.

For obvious reasons i don't get to the games these days but by all accounts Hatley is total pants in midfield & unless we have Jennings & Lasley in midfield we struggle. As would appear likely Jennings will be off next year when his contract runs out & Lasley not getting any younger it looks like getting new midfielders for next year will be priority. In that context is Gow an asset?

As much as it annoys the hell out of us Motherwell will always be a selling club. Our whole structure is built around bringing up youngsters to sell onto bigger clubs. In dream world we would keep all our best players and make a real go of things but in the real financial world we need to sell our best players to survive. With a very low home support income is hard to come by & offloading assets is vital to keep the club on an even keel. I know that history tells us that we always seem to get shafted with our best players going fo less than their value but if you get offered 250k for a 500k player it's better than a poke in the eye with a pointy stick. As fans we would say tell them to shove their 250k but as chairman JB sees that as money that can pay wages or pay for ground repairs so he's left in the position of take the shitey offer or pump more of his own money in.

Shock horror Motherwell drawn away in the Scottish cup! Never seen that before. Good chance of getting pumped out due to our recent record against first division teams. But could be worse like Kilmarnock & St johnstone's ties. Have to feel sorry for the non league teams getting shitey draws. The SFA is just an old boys club & thats why refs will never be punished when they make an arse of it. The whole jobs for the boys culture will continue until there is a radical clear out of the SFA. Also i agree 100% that refs should be made to state which team they support. The fact they can officiate in a game where they have a vested interest is just absolutely ludicrus. If any Well fan was the ref in a game against Airdrie can they honestly say they would officiate it fairly? Yet every week we are supposed to accept that refs can put their bias aside & officiate as a neutral. Yeah right thats gonna happen

Refusing to make negative comments about refs isn't doing us any favours. No matter how bad the decision he sits there and says the party line about how the refs have a hard job & that they are honest individuals. Then the next game we play we get more howling decisions against us. It appears to be for Motherwell your damned if you do & damned if you don't. Laughing at all the people on here that got a semi when Hearts beat Celtic midweek. The fact that a Hearts win was the worst result possible for Motherwell was irrelevant as long as Celtic got beat all was good. Wonder if these people still have a semi now we've been pumped into 4th. Levein says Humphrey is in contention for a call up despite missing out on this squad. That's speccy bastard speak for "aye son when you move to a biggger club we'll gie you a game". Doesn't matter if you think Humphrey deserves a place or not you can bet your bottom dollar if he played for Dundee Utd Houston & Levein would have made sure he was in the squad. Interesting to note that although the speccy bastard says Humphrey is in contention there was no mention of Murphy or Reynolds. Would appear they are not even on his radar.
