Have no doubt we will sign players probably some good & some not so good my only concern is getting a decent keeper on board & hopefully someone up front with a bit of pace that isn't called Daley.
-
As things stand we will be going from the fastest forward line last year to the slowest next. However with Humphrey & Henrik away i don't think there is a hope in hell that Higdon & Faddy will still be here next year. Lawson must be raging he signed for a great team & now finds himself in with a bunch of youngsters and reserves. Will be very interesting to see what McCall can pull out the bag because as things stand i don't even know if we have enough players to fill the bench on a matchday. First port of call has to be a new keeper whether it's first choice or back up to Hollis we can't operate with just one keeper (unless there is another Stevie Kirk in the team who can pull off goalkeeping magic)

Used to enjoy reading opponents forums when we were due to play them there was always loads of punters giving their opinion on who should play full back to mark Humphrey always followed by someone else saying that full backs no fast enough get this other guy on him give him an early kick & Humphrey will no be interested after that. So whatever we thought of him he always gave our opponents the fear to the extent they would change their team to try to combat him leaving other areas exposed. Like someone said before we will now find out exactly what he brought to the team & for me if it was the choice between keeping Humphrey or Higdon i would've picked Humphrey. Good luck to the lad at Preston.

Is that the steelworks or a row of candles?

Delighted for him but wasn't the whole point of now we are out was to use the last few qualifiers to prepare for the next tournament? Unfortunately Hammell isn't going to be in the next tournament qualifiers so don't really see the point in selecting him for this. But again delighted for him & hope he actually gets on the park and not just the bench.

Some of those teams we could give a right good game & then there's others who would absolutely pump us both home & away. Will be an interesting draw.
-
Maybe he told McCall fat sally will be away by Christmas so hang tight & the sevco job will be yours.
-
I'm just laughing at Scottish football bigwigs idea of punishment. Sevco have top players cooling their heels until September comes around & if the are struggling in 2nd Division then the cheque book will come back out in January. What part of that is a fitting punishment for being cheating bastards?
-
Winning one 3rd division title and kidding yourself on that you are not a new club doesn't make you the biggest club in Scotland ya bampot. No wonder you're called zombies you don't have a brain among you.
-
Really lost all respect for Law now. Not that he's joined the dark side but that he's bought into the 54 titles shite. They have won 1 3rd division title & that's all. While the mighty Well are playing in Europe he'll be sitting on his arse waiting for September to come counting his bank balance. Hell mend him when they go tits up again.
-
Now a possibility that the winner will automatically qualify for next years Champions League if UEFA make the change in time. So yeah would be a good time to win it

Is Steve Nicol back from the states? I seem to recall he done quite well over there. Also just had a thought that gives me the fear would Roy Aitken be up for his first major management roll?
-
No ones mentioned that other Calderwood... Colin. Let's hope any new manager we may need doesn't have the surname Calderwood they are all bangers.
-
If McCall goes then i think we have to stick with the formula that has served us so well recently by bringing in someone with knowledge & contacts of players down south. Scouting around picking up other SPL teams cast offs with a manager that's been round the Scottish scene going from team to team is a recipe for a very poor season imo. Hell if that's the route we are going then we'd be as well bringing in Jimmy Tango Calderwood and ask the last person to leave to turn off the lights. Although casting the net out to 'more unorthodox applicants' will probably see us again linked with Chris Sutton

It's not just about the money though if you look at the bigger picture. Being in Europe is a carrot to attract/keep players at the club and players with European experience should then be able to be sold for a higher fee later on. (except if you play for Motherwell then you get sold for 2 packets of salt n vinegar & a bottle of buckie)

It's long been mooted on here that Saunders was our best right back & an ideal replacement for Hateley. Does the fact that we have released Saunders mean that Hateley is staying therefore no need to pay a wage to Saunders?
-
If we have to get a new manager i think it will be someone no one thought of. Gannon, Brown & McCall are all people no one would have picked as the next manager & i think that would be the case again. I would be more than happy with McCall staying but if he did go it could also be a good thing if we get a manager who has connections down south to bring a few gems up as it appears McCall is going for the SPL players this time around & im not so keen on that. But as i said previously i don't see McCall going anywhere except Ibrox.
-
Not convinced McCall will be going anywhere he seems to me quite committed to his job at Motherwell. However if fat sally gets the boot from zombieville then i would start to worry.
-
I don't think Law being settled here would have any influence on him looking at the zombies. If it was as simple as that im sure he could get a move to Celtic & stay settled get his financial benefits but also get higher standard football & European games. I don't think McCall would be steering him to Ibrox but at the same time i don't see him doing anything to steer him away from there either. If at the end of the day Law asked McCall what it's like at Ibrox then McCall would answer, in all honesty, that he loved his time there.

Amazing achievement by everyone connected to the club far exceeding what is expected of a club our size. The funny thing is we had such an amazing season but we still had loads of panty wetting going on. Wait til next season there will be floods of pish flowing. How long til we get the standard McCall must go thread.
-
Danny Lennon has confirmed Motherwell have been in touch with him in regards to signing Samson so looks like he will be our new keeper.
-
As long as they go for footballing reasons and not to follow the money to zombieville.
-
Would happily take a point but would also love to see us get a bit of revenge for the drubbing we got up there when we had probably our poorest performance of the season. If the team plays like they did against Utd & Celtic we will win comfortably but if they play like they did against St.Mirren & first half Caley then we will struggle to get anything from this.
-
Do we keep the money for finishing 2nd (maybe 3rd) this year & as of next year it starts to be more evenly spread or does all the prize money for this season get split more for the beginning of next season? (except Celtics 1st place money which has been deemed untouchable) Seems a bit rushed to get it in place for next year with the fixtures announced in 5 weeks or so but apparently as the league formats are the same they can tinker with details after the season has kicked off. Sounds good on the whole though.

I really don't understand the badge up so high it's practically on the shoulder.
