Having said I'm not sure if it's feasable to drop the season ticket prices massively, I'm an example of how it can work. I definitely wouldn't have gotten into going to games (maybe wouldn't even be a mwell fan) if it wasn't for the 50 quid season tickets they sell at Dalziel. Folk like me who never had any family members to introduce them can easily be won over by heavily reduced STs. I don't understand why they don't do that offer round every school in the area, gauranteed to make some new well fans!

Agree bout Sutton, but you imply that Murphy is as good right now as he'll get if your happy for him to be sold for that much, and with a good bit left on his contract. I'd be gutted if Murphy went at all this season. He's part of the core of the team, and a lot would agree, one of the best prospects in scotland thenow.

Should defo take the money if it's offered! By all means he does a job for us, but has never been more than a sort of reliable grafter to me. Never seemed much to get excited about.

People want a better product at cheaper prices. EVERYONE KNOWS THIS!!! How do we get this should be the real point of discussion. So. The only way to do this is start bringing in more money from other streams. But then the fans dinnae want this, cos it 'alienates them'. But we still demand cheaper prices and better football!! To be fair, am one of those very fans. But simply put, It's a big durty catch 22 so it is, and scottish fitba isn't gona wriggle out of it without some serious imagination!

The fact they're going for the a "Premiership" and "Championship" just shows how they're trying to desperately emulate England, , when they should be coming up with somethin more imaginative and interesting, something a bit wacky even. To be fair however, if the clubs can vote for (a) more money, less teams or (b) less money, more teams, they have their hands tied by their financial state. And finally, I really don't think there'll be that noticable a difference.. Basically, accies and st mirren games will be replaced, the OF still dominate, samesame. And I'll still go... just cause it's the fitba team I support.

Away ye go, was pretty good in the second half. Seen loads of far worse games. Agree that randolph hasn't quite been given the praise he deserves this season. Better than Ruddy I'd say.

I'd say a pot to get the east stand a new roof/tannoy/bins to catch water would be a better idea imo, so that everyone can actually see where the money went and not be whingin over how it was spent. Not that I'd necessarily put any money towards it...

I thought Fitzy had a great first half yesterday tbh and a reasonable second half. I don't think it's a question of waiting for him to show some sorta huge potential, just nae harm in having an inexpensive back up surely?

The only solution is to have SOME SORT of playoff for the title. You can fiddle with figures, rant about how you want a montrose away day, cry about revenue, youth setups and leaking roofs. But at the end of the day, Scottish football must become a competition! Thats the only hope.

When you take a step back it all comes down to the cold hard fact that increasing the number of teams will equal a bad financial hit for the club. T he club simply cannot vote for that! Surely the arguement ends there.

Sorry should have said more along the lines of 'completely desintegrates into oblivion'! And of course playoffs alone won't revive scottish football, but I believe they could be part of the formula, needless to say, along with a load of other things. And I honestly think they'll go a lot more towards diggin football out the hole than changing the number of teams in the league!

Nice system Pony! Possibly a wee bit complicated? And I feel possibly just a touch too innovative/imaginative for the authorities to consider. Particularly like the top 4 play off for the championship bit, with the 6-4-2-0 points thing. -A lot more fair than just a simple play off. Get it sent off to Hampden!! ..or wherever they discuss these things.

How abouts if you have a lead of 10 pts over your play off opponents you get a 1 goal head start, 20 pts - 2 goals n so on. That way those who have been "more consistant" (OF) still get rewarded but there's still a good competetion.

Win win win situation as far as i'm concerned. Apart from it bein a wee bit unfair.. But hey, rather that than the stagnating old firm fest we have the now.

If i remember correctly most shops in the town centre had a Motherwell display in the window for the CIS final in '05. So not too unfeasable surely?
