Who has returned to us "simply because of Robinson"? Hastie came back cause he has his wedge from Rangers and probably fancies convenient games where he can stay at home, and Long came back cause nobody else wanted him! Robinson gets lauded for "bringing in millions in transfers" but in reality any manager of Motherwell would have brought in the same. Cadden, Turnbull, Hastie, Scott, McAlear, McKinstry were the cream of the crop in our academy, and apart from Cadds, who was established long before Robbo, the rest played less than 40 games for us combined so his developing of them was limited in the extreme. We are lead to believe this guy Foyle is a player scouting genius so Kipre wouldve most likely have been here so what exactly has Robinson done to get us these millions of pounds apart from simply being here? Its the same with the Cup Finals, as a club by fuck do we count "success" in the loosest terms. Releasing DVD's of the 25th anniverdary of winning the Scottish cup and celebrating getting pumped in cup finals. Since we last won a trophy Inverness, Ross County, Falkirk and Raith fucking Rovers have won silverware, 2 of those teams never even existed in 1991! It was a couple hundred grand extra in the bank and a day on the piss for the fans, thats about the success of them. And as for league form, last seasons form is very relevant, because it was plain to see from January that we couldnt score in a brothel with a blank cheque, and were struggling badly. Since then we have had a transfer window where the club have backed the manager and brought in several players and if anything we are WORSE now! We now cant score AND are guaranteed to chuck at least one in at our end every single game. I swear we could be down in the Championship next season having not won a game in 6 and there would STILL be people on here saying "aye but he got us to 2 cup finals 4 year ago, give him time!"

I just dont see that. There is a BIG difference between playing well and having some nice passes while the opponents happily sit in. Our best performance of the season was against Hibs, and even then, apart from the Whyte offside shot we never looked anywhere near scoring. Todays game was the same as the rest of the season, we are utterly toothless and ultimately end up chucking a goal or two in at our end. Teams know this and the likes of St Johnstone, Killie etc will happily sit in and wait till we give them their goal. You would think after 6 games we would at least look solid and hard to beat but we simply are not. We are 7 games into a new season, and the manager STILL has absolutely no idea what our best team or formation is! We have no left back, our midfield "balance" is all over the place and our "attack" is in disarray. How do we fix that?
-
Anything less than 3 points against St Johnstone and the manager shouldnt even make it to the handshakes without being handed his p45!
-
Eh? There isnt a single player in the SPL, goalkeepers included, who WOULDNT have scored their first goal! Lamie stood off so much Forrest could have jogged home, had a cuppa then jogged back and still picked his spot with ease.
-
"Minimum 8 weeks but probably longer" were the words out of Robinsons mouth before the Livingston game. So probably looking at early/mid November
-
Our problem is that Celtic didnt beat us today because they are so much better than us, they won today because offensively we are unable to lay a glove on the opposition and defensively we are guaranteed to throw at least 1 in our own net EVERY FUCKING GAME. Because they ARE much better, they should have scored 5, probably more, but we were let off the hook in that respect. Our form is an absolute disgrace. A manager at any other club in world would have 1 foot out the door at this point, if not gone already. Instead, ours is bulletproof and probably looking at spending some of our recently gained money on yet more utter shite to add to our squad. We are bottom of the table, and arent going anywhere anytime soon. Its a fucking shambles
-
Shocking defending for the goal. Lamie wouldve been easier picking the ball up and chucking it in the net rather than kidding on he was "defending"
-
Considering our next 4 opponents, the fact we have won 2 league matches all year playing substantially inferior opposition, the fact we look incapable of scoring against professional opponents and the fact weve just sold by far our best player. I think it would be silly to not be a little concerned!

Better than ALL of our wingers....... put together!

Thats the way I remember it too

Adam Livingstone to Cove Rangers - 2 Year Deal
-
I agree the commentary was poor. The main lad (paul whatshisname) was horrendous but I think Craggs was trying too hard to be fair to both sides and it ended up a bit gibberish. Dont think he was negative to us at all
-
Such a fucking Motherwell thing to do. Good win, but ruin the clean sheet with the stupidest penalty you will ever see
-
Eh?
-
Its scandalous.

Are we trying to save a couple quid by only having the floodlights half on? The tv picture is bizarre its so dark And take Grimshaw off now! We dont even need to put a sub on, just get Grimshaw to fuck. He is an abomination of a footballer. The fact he is Glentoran's best player tells all you need to know.

Me too is this another Robbo special?

Read the last 5 words on my post bud. Im not angry, not even bemused. It was obvious this was lined up, probably from last year so its not a surprise. I wish David well, it wouldnt have been my choice, but that means nothing. Il look forward to seeing him make his Scotland debut next month now he has joined them, and Il keep an eye out for him on match of the day in acouple of years The point in my post was that last year it was reported as £3.25m plus "add ons & a sell on" . NOW? Its a deal "that may reach £3.25m". That figure is a bit too specific to be plucked out the air, and journalists nowadays have moles everywhere. No mention of any sell on clause and a fee lower than last year. (Il do the last bit in bold to help you) if that is the case then its a fucking disgrace! We mention sell-ons in every deal we make, strangely quiet on this one. Celtic disclose plenty , ie Tierney fee, Dembele Sell on, Van Dijk Sell On, yet this time its "undisclosed" . Personally, I dont care as I have no control over the running of the club, but as a fan it stinks!
-
We all know it will be the same team as last week, with Polworth for Turnbull! White is shit, but has a track record of goals in the scottish lower leagues, and lets be honest Glentoran are nothing more than an Alloa level championship club so I think he will score in a terrible 1-0 victory for us
-
Accounts will only show anything if its all being paid in 1 lump sum, which I highly doubt. And the DT fee will be lumped in with any other transfer business so we will never know the truth
-
"A fee that could reach £3.25m" while being vague in detail, the "final fee" is a very exact figure so I think its safe to say there is no sell-on fee! Fucking disgrace and a slap in the face to the fans and club as a whole if that is the case
-
Agree with pretty much everything you said mate, but Watt was not a flop at St Johnstone. From what I saw and heard he was one of, if not their best player. Playing as a target man/hold up striker. He then left them to chase cash in Bulgaria. Thats why I cant understand why he isnt getting a chance! He wont get many goals, but he is the guy in our squad with the experience and pedigree to do that job, and bring the 3 behind him into the game
-
Thats good. I look forward to seeing DT score against Glentoran tomorrow
-
Wow. That has to be a new low!
-
Turnbull will be named in the squad too once his transfer to them is confirmed!
