Training with Hamilton now! A pity we wont make a move, he's 20 times the player Grimshaw is
-
I take it the deal for the Wigan lad is in the bin now?
-
Exactly what Im thinking! And I dont care what you say Steelboy. You lob a cup of hot tea/bovril/whatever then in my eyes You are a prick! There is, and will never be any excuse for a "fan" doing that. Looking forward to the not guilty defence, "no sir, I did not chuck the cup at Morelos, it slipped out of my hand and just happened to travel 15 feet straight at the Rangers players coupon. I believe there was a freak solar flare that caused an anomaly in the earth's atmosphere, mustve been that. I bought the drink, was holding it, but it was definately not me that threw it"
-
Whats it got to do with Burrows if some prick wants to chuck a hot drink at a Rangers player?
-
Ok Polworth isnt perfect, but jesus fuck some of you are hilarious. So he scores 3 goals & has 15 assists and is 90% pish? Therefore if he was only 50% pish he would be expected to be getting us 15 goals & 75 assists? Jesus fuck Poly is the "playmaker" playing generally beside 2 others who do the dog work. For a team like Motherwell, its that kind of player, or 3 cloggers in the middle of the park and we lose 10-12 of those assists! We cant fucking afford players who will be great 70-80% of the time, because those players are playing at a far higher level than Motherwell Fc!!!
-
Eh Rangers twice? Are we playing them again? Who the fuck thought three utter slaughters was the best way to go into a season? Fucking shambolic that
-
Its quite funny, people talking about "bidding wars". Clubs know our price, and after him signing a contract extension Id be amazed if there wasnt some kind of release clause inserted. NOBODY is bidding more than £3m for him. Any interested club will match the first bid accepted and look to win him on the sales pitch. Its imperative the club shows a backbone and accepts nothing less than the £3m we accepted last time
-
Wouldve liked to have seen him here! Good luck to the lad
-
Beat Utd 1-0, Jordan White scorer. 2 different 11s, 45 mins for each. Interestingly, Cornelius played at Rb, McIver played CM and we had a young u18 player at Lb second half
-
We are the "home" team. Would it be Fir Park? Or Forthbank?
-
Why would it be 5 subs? I thought the English doing that was to counteract injuries and strains caused by a short "pre season" before finishing this season?
-
Its on the MFC website so Id assume its 100% gen
-
Polworth is never a winger in a billion years! The lad from Wigan will be the LW option
-
Or it could be that we see Lang as the wide left option? Tm. Watt / Long / White Lw. Lang / Seedorf Rw. Hastie / Hylton Am. Turnbull / Polworth Long & Watt quite similar so 6'4 White is a different physical option to the others.
-
If that is indeed the plan (as I also expect it is) its imperative we get him on a 3 year deal. 2 years is utterly pointless, unless he goes on to score 20+?this season
-
I did hope the smileys would indicate my post as a joke, unfortunately clearly not for some.
-
Personally I feel we should go nowhere near this lad! 2 transfer fees in the same summer gets me thinking back to the early John Boyle years or (shudder) the McLeish era and gives me the fear! Aye its fine paying 50 grand for a Mark O'Hara and 200 grand for a promising youngster , but its a slippery slope and next thing you know we will be forking out £150k for an Andy Roddie, £400k for a Shaun McSkimming, £250k for a John Hendry and £200k plus 2 players for an Eddie May!
-
Not only that, when was the last time we actually spent money on 2 players in the same transfer window?
-
Aye I noticed that. Plus first 5 games more than winnable, as are the 5 before the split. Overall very decent fixtures for us!
-
This "wouldnt turn down a huge pay increase" stuff is a pretty poor argument when it comes to footballers like Hastie. Fair enough if You are 29/30 and getting a big contract where You are offered 5 or 6 grand a week (or more) more than Your current wage. That is likely to be the last big contract You get so you "set yourself up" in that scenario. A 19yo promising talent should be looking to develop his career, the money will then automatically follow. Thats why I question if Hastie himself doesnt have the belief he has what it takes to play higher. Turnbull & Hastie both grew up together, 10 years in the same team from the age of 9. Turnbull knocks back what would have been a far more lucrative deal at Norwich for Celtic as he saw them as the perfect platform to move his career on, Hastie takes the first decent deal on the table knowing he will never in a million years actually play for Rangers and will spend 2-3 years on loan before getting released.
-
None at all! Which is why I will not be called a bigot from some wee keyboard warrior fud.
-
You can shut the fuck up with the bigotry chat pal
-
I think its ridiculous because weve signed a deal where one of our key players is only available when Rangers allow it. Lets be honest here, Seedorf & Hylton are both pish so Hastie is being signed to be an integral part of our team, and now anytime we play Rangers in the league, and if we draw them in the cup (our only chance of any success during the season. And any successful cup run will most likely bring a match v Rangers) we automatically lose an integral part of the team before a ball is kicked. For a club with a small budget and smaller playing squad that is absolutely mental
-
Firstly I dont care who he supports. And secondly that attitude of "Rangers & Celtic games are just a bonus" is exactly the reason evedy other team in the spl have beaten the old firm but us in the last 5-10 years. We are running a small squad anyway, to deliberately make it 1 man less in some games is mental! And cup games are the best chances we have of beating Rangers, now if we do draw them they know we are a man down before we even kick off. I dont blame him for leaving, Ive said plenty times I felt we as a club fucked up with him. But at the end of the day he played a handful of games for us, couldnt sign for his "boyhood heroes" fast enough knowing never in a million years he would ever play for them, then downed tools with us as soon as he got his deal. For that, as far as Im concerned he can rot in their reserves and sign for Falkirk or Carlisle in 3 years time to rebuild his career
