2018/19 Game 27: Celtic (A) Sunday 24th February 3.00pm Kick Off
Shaka replied to Yabba's Turd's topic in Club Chat
I am dissappointed with Robbo's post match comments. He seems happy enough to throw his own players under the bus (Main & Livingston) but refuses to condemn opponent behaviour and deflect heat from his own 18 year old player who is getting roasted. I understand wanting to take the moral high ground but you dont need to make personal attacks to make a point. He could have muddied the waters by pointing out Edouard has left 2 of our players in the hospital and questioned if he should have been on the pitch to score his goals, just question tho and say he cant say for definate because he hasnt seen replays. And with Scott he should have just said it was inexperience but its happened before, funnily enough by a Celtic player! And is it worse than the blatant cheating we see with players diving to win pens and red cards? doesnt need to specify names/teams, and maybe praise Scott for his overall performance. You cant all out attack the Old Firm, the Media would never allow that, but just muddy the waters and open the debate then things specifically for James Scott die down quicker -
Not entirely, 2 yellows is usually a ban starting 7 days from the offence, Straight red automatically misses next game no matter when it is
-
We havent had a left back in the squad for the entirety of Robinsons reign, why would he change that?
-
Not dosagreeing at all, but just call it what it is! Its a Financial Decision, not a Career Decision! Anyone would do it, just dont come out with the "its a Career decision to go to X,Y,Z" when in reality its simply cause you can earn 4 times your current salary while fucking around in an under 23 team for a few years
-
The thing I hate about this bullshit is the "its a short career" bollocks. Yes, pro footballer may be a relatively short career, but its not as if you stop being capable of working as soon as you turn 33! Get a fucking proper job and work till your in your 60's like the rest of us mugs! Even in football, you can be a coach, manager, physio, official, scout , pundit etc all long after you retire so its not even as if you have to leave the game completely. What gives a footballer the right to swan around "training" for 10 hours a week and then playing a match and think they are entitled to retire and never work again once they hit 35?

I remember walking with my pals through Stirling town centre one afternoon when I was 13 or 14 (around '94), giving it "theres Mark Hateley" and laughing when we saw a tall guy with a baldy/mullet combo, "theres Basile Boli" when we saw a big bald Black guy, etc. Being a Well fan,I shouted "theres John Philliben" when I saw a guy who looked like Softy, only for the actual guy to turn round and say "its Mr Philliben to you, ya wee prick!" lol
-
Credit to him, Im not Robbos biggest fan but he has turned it around big time, still a work in progress but there is a good framework there. I think 6th is achieveable but maybe a stretch too far. I think trying to consolidate 7th would be a better target, finishing 7th instead of 9th would mean around an extra £300k in the bank! 6th would be the Jackpot but at this stage possibly just out of our reach

2018/19 game 25: St Mirren (A) Wednesday 6th February

Good win. Didnt play overly well but did enough, and scored 2 very good goals! Corners and free kicks were a total waste. We are actually beginning to remind me of Yogi Hughes's Falkirk team! Nice but pointless passing around the defenders and midfield, then back to a defender to launch it 60 yards up front. We either need to get someone better on the ball at Cd, or gain a bit of patience/composure, because when we actually do play it forward on the deck we are dangerous! -

What a goal from Hastie, and a brilliant save from Gillespie too! Gorrin likes to get stuck in but is giving away too many fouls for me, the pace of Hastie & Ariyibi is worrying St Midden. The most evident thing for me so far tho, is that our attacking free kicks and corners are fucking awful! -
Aye, apparently huckled by 6 cops outside Johnny Foxes this morning lol

Ariyibi has another year. Signed a 2 1/2 year deal last Jan Im sure

2018/19 Game 24: Livingston (H) Saturday 2nd February

Wtf going on here? I hope our lads arent getting piss tested after the game lol. Great start! COYW -
I remember watching the Super Cooper tape back in the 90's and it actually said We were really interested in Cooper at Clydebank, but our scout report was tickboxes and we decided against a move because he couldnt tackle or head the ball.

A permacrock midfielder? Why would we even entertain this? More junk "journalism"

2018/19 Game 22: Hibernian (H) Wednesday 23rd January

Sounded like Main got through a lot of work, although his finishing let him down again. Still same front 4 for saturday, as he is a grafter and we dont have anyone better! Hastie & Ariyibi had some fun by the sounds of it, glad we seem to have a bit of attacking threat now. Huge game on saturday now COYW -
Typical Robbo. Pull a result out the bag to take the heat off. Going by his previous record, we will be back to shite cone saturday.

Sensible post, I understand exactly what You are saying, but I have a different viewpoint on it. Weve fucked it up now by not getting rid in Nov / early Dec. Now any potential new Management team wont get to sign any players, however, they would get a few months to assess the current squad and work out who is worth a contract. Any move is a gamble, but its clear looking at our league results over the last 14 months that the Managers time is up. Apart from a Scottish Cup run last season (which did involve a good skelping of luck), we have been utterly utterly dismal for 14 solid months, and now this season, that poor form has run into both cups which in turn will have seriously hit us in the pocket. Im not sure I know of any club in the world where such garbage would have been tolerated for so long! We get a new management team in, they assess the squad (the majority of whom will be playing for contracts!) and we hit the ground running come the summer. What we dont need is to wait for the summer, then decide to sack Robbo & start a manager hunt. Its likely to be mid June before the new guy starts which gives zero time to assess things and get signings in.
-
The most worrying thing for me is that we have very few "saleable assets" in the squad. You could argue 3 in Campbell, Cadden and Turnbull. Two of those 3 are OOC and will be harassing their agents as we speak to get a move anywhere just to be done with our brand of Anti-Football. Plus pretty much EVERY reserve player is out of contract in May. Why should Livingstone, Maguire etc all stay if they can get a sniff of gametime and a chance to actually pass a football elsewhere? For a selling club, our squad is practically worthless cause its so bloated with utter shite, so wheres our future Johnsons, Moults & Kipres coming from?
-
Well in that case, We need to make space in the taxi for whoever rejected it! Just yet more evidence the people running our club have no actual idea about football. Yeah our media is nice and fluffy and the players love going for a coffee and a chat with whoever does the intervews, but its just a pity we have not 1 single fucking player over the age of 21 able to control or pass a fucking football.

Scottish Cup 4th Round Motherwell v Ross County Sat 19th January (H)

Hmm. He HAS a contract for next season too! Gonna cost us even more money to get rid of the inept cunt -
I wonder how many of the "record number of season ticket holders" will be encouraged to stay next season? Our crowds will now dwindle between now and May. Yet more money this incompetent clown is costing us

Consolation from Hastie. Too little too late. Embarrasment of a team we are -
Unfortunately there are still too many happy clappers quite chuffed we made it to (and got horsed in) two cup finals last season. Plus his pal is Chief Exec, so he's going nowhere

Robbo bingo time. "They are a tough team and top of their league for a reason" "We had a great build up but things just didnt click" "We have a great group of lads at the club" "We will work hard to make amends" "We didnt do the basics right" "We didnt earn the right to play football" "We will dust ourselves off" "We go again" How many will he reel off tonite?
