The reserves / kids are looking like a really good group. Was a little concerned with Craggs saying Turnbull had to work more on the defensive/tracking back side of his game. The kid looks the real deal and offers a lot going forward, I just hope we dont shackle him too much. Is Livingstone far away? He looks like the perfect player to solve our left wing back woes!

Thoughts? Sammon for Johnson is still a criminal sub, we had a couple late chances where a poacher could/would have been in position to finish. And Frear for Campbell was gash as well. Frear had a great cameo but should have come on for Rose who I think might have touched the ball at most, 4 times in the entire match. Our equalizer came as Rangers shat the bed and tried to defend their 6 yard box, they were in deeper than Ron Jeremy! I still maintain those exact subs were absolutely terrible!

Decent first half, the front 2 are causing Rangers problems! Bigi and Campbell getting stuck in too But our defence is fucking howling, cant stop crosses or mark effectively. And when Carson throws one in were pissing into the wind. On the plus side, its far better than a 1-0 shitfest with no shots on target!

The issue is how the "plastic pitches" are firstly installed, and secondly maintained. There are dozens of top level clubs all over Scandinavia and Russia playing games on such pitches without issue. They are regularly used in Champions League & Europa League matches as well as internationals but it seems only Scottish players greet about it. I feel its less to do with the surface being dangerous and more to do with the surface highlighting deficiencies in players technical ability! Most Scottish players cant trap or control a solid pass ,have embarrassing close control and can barely pass 10 yards to a teammate, at least on grass they can blame a bobble etc

Ive been vocal in my criticism of Robinson but as yet Im not calling for his head, although I believe we should be considering it after the next 3 games unless there is a drastic turn around. Last season we started well but after November, fell off a cliff! This reaction I believe is more an accumulation of that, the summer recruitment and the start of this season than knee jerk. The start of last season and League cup final bought Robinson extra credit, I believe any other manager would have been sacked last January after the horrendous run of form we endured but he remained. Then the Scottish Cup final bought Robbo yet more credit and look how he has "spent" that?! Lets be honest, the 2 cup finals were nice to get to, but the highlight of both games for me was Cook & Indis World Buffet afterward! The "performances" were average to pathetic and we lost both at a canter. Once again we have made an utter cunt of a potentially great situation! How good would it have been to actually build something this summer? We would have some money and a lot of dead wood out of contract and some very promising performances from a couple of our young players, but instead we strengthen the fucking bench players, and at the moment strengthen is going some! That means when we ultimately sell someone (Kipre) or lose players to injury (Dunne,Bowman, Tanner) our starting 11 is actually WEAKER than last season?! Surely even the simplest of people understand that you strengthen "numbers 12-18" by buying better players, forcing last seasons guys to improve or warm the bench? And surely our policy of developing youth means we should be having even 1 or 2 of our young players properly involved in matchday squads instead of firing a few on loan and keeping a couple of token subs we are never gonna use? Now on to this season, we started brilliantly against Edinburgh City but were actually outplayed the entire second half of that game. We "lost" to Stranraer and scraped past QOS & Clyde with horrible performances. There has been no cohesion or build up from our pre season, we need match fitness in players and yet we play a different team every 45 mins in each of our 3 friendlies, we need to build a settled team but we chop and change in all 4 League Cup Matches, and the result is we lose our first 2 league games at a canter and I believe Robbo has no clue as to his actual best formation and starting 11. We now have a cup game v Livvy we should win but our confidence looks shot even at this early stage, and then league matches against Hearts & Rangers, both of whom look like they will murder us! We are playing football so badly it could make your eyes bleed and It looks like Robinson has no clue how to change it. We are in exactly the same situation Oldham were in when Robbo was sacked and for me thats worrying.

Two? Do League Cup games not count like? We have played 6 games and been utterly horseshit in every one! Im not saying sack him right now, but unless he picks up a Minimum of a point v Hearts & Rangers plus a win v Livvy in the cup I believe his jacket should be on a very shoogly peg. Just worried we are gonna go with cheap option Lasley to get us out of the mess Robbo is leaving us in

The big worry for me is, even if we do punt Robinson, Our next manager is his assistant Las! Seeing as he is already part of our management team, would we be "treated" to the exact same style of football? And is he experienced enough to get us out of the mess we may get in?

I never said that, I was commentating on how utterly abysmal our league form is and has been since November! The cup games have papered over very substantial cracks here. And I wasnt "discounting" the games after the split, I was commenting on how those games were played in exceptional circumstances as our squad were playing for cup final places while nearly every other team we played were already on the beach.

29 points from our last 90 is relegation form. And that number is bloated due to picking up 10 points after the split last year when we were going for a cup final and our opponents had nothing to play for. In actual "competetive" games our points tally is abysmal Big few weeks for the management team

Yip. Ronaldo would struggle to score in this team. We cant afford anything like proven quality, so it makes it all the more important we find a system and players that allow us to create chances for the strikers we do have.

The problem with that is Frear just isnt a wing back and Bigi/Gorrin probably arent enough of a combo in Cm. So to play them all you're looking at something like a 4-3-3 with Bigi, Campbell , Gorrin Cadden , Johnson , Frear Does that give us enough goal threat or does it leave Johnson isolated? Tough. Our recruitment this summer shouldve been better to give us a plan B or at least a competent plan A

I love it on this forum when you are critical of a shite performance and you automatically become a pant wetter (and vice versa) Today isnt a knee jerk, its game 5 of the season and we are still utterly pish, hopefully we come good and today was just a blip. The issues we had last season however, have not been addressed and our recruitment has looked decidedly shaky so far. But the most annoying thing is this pish about the likes of Hartley not being fit. Robbo made a big thing of early recruitment and (I think) everyone has had a warm weather training camp, several weeks of pre season, 3 friendlies and 4 competetive games. Hartley was out a while aye, but was fit enough to bench in the cup final which means he was capable of at the very least light training back in May. These guys are meant to be fucking professional so if they arent fit enough after several games and 6 weeks training its on either them or the management. Enough of this "not match fit" bullshit please!!

The only way we will be playing a ball playing midfielder is if Robbo is sacked. He has shown with his disaster at Carlisle and his time at us that such players are not welcome in his teams. "Physicality" , "Aggression" & "Power" is what he looks for in a midfielder It worked to an extent for us last season, hopefully it does this year too

Im not being funny but I dont want Robinson to get a penny of the Kipre cash! Id rather wait till we sack him and spend it on a couple players actually capable of passing a football. Robbo is a 1 trick pony, if he is allowed to sign more players were gonna pish money away on another couple of "robust" cloggers And before anyone starts, Im not saying sack Robbo! But I do think he will be found out this season and we will struggle badly. Id just rather keep our powder dry than spend the little cash we have on another 6 foot clogger to hoof the ball up the park
