not inpressed with the scapegoating here. Ainsworth deserves better. McGhee,McManus,McDonald,Law,Chalmers and pretty much anyone else in the squad has made a cunt of it many times over the season,do they all get the treatment? I had to laugh reading that tho. By senior players he has to mean Lasley,McManus & Prob Skippy,Hammy & Pearo. Probably the worst players in the squad for marking and defensive solidity
-
wouldve preferred Gomis in for a start with a view to the cup game
-
apparently we missed a major signing. Im sure the club or those "in the know" trundle this same shite out every deadline day lol. Were skint and shite,we got what we got so just get on with it instead of stories of ones that got away
-
in a heartbeat. guys a well decent right back
-
what a waste. All the talent in the world and ruins it due to attitude, unfortunately a familiar story with scottish youngsters
-
ach they have to make it look like birds footie actually means something
-
Exactly. We have Luke Watt & Chris Cadden at the top end of that bracket, who have played a lot of U20 football and impressed at that level AND have played the odd first team game, equally impressing but when we have a chance to "blood" them properly we bypass them in favour of destroying team continuity so McGhee really has to show the courage of his convictons
-
Its laughable we still count Dom Thomas,Craig Moore etc as inexperienced youngsters. Teams all over the country & world blood players that are 17/18/19 all the time, our "kids" are 20/21/22. Look at the likes of Falkirk, they have 19 & 20 year old lads leaving to sign for English teams having played up to 70 or 80 first team games. We have the occasional youngster break through then 3 or 4 lads sit around the fringes for 3 years before leaving.
-
he didnt need to move Hammell and Law wjen he had suitable options in Laing,Cadden or Leitch who couldve played mid. And to not even bother changing it when we were 3-0 down after 20 mins was shocking as well. We may have still lost had we swapped Ainsworth & Laing for Las & Grimshaw but you can pretty much guarantee it wouldnt be the single biggest defeat any team in the spl has endured this season!
-
he changed a settled defence, brought in Chalmers who is barely a pub league level player, played Hammell at right back & Law centre mid meaning we were an unorganized shambles with a horrifically poor midfield. Every decision was his, THATS why its 100% his fault
-
fucking embarrassment today. 100% at the door of McGhee!
-
anyone else impressed wi the Stranraer keeper Max Currie last sunday? Looked a prospect at only 18. And we released him last summer!!!!
-
the area behind the seats is a designated concourse. Not a problem with the last 2-3 rows of seats plus the end sections being allowed to stand but why do some folk always rip the arse out of it? Its a fucking concourse, its to allow folk to walk to the bogs/pie stall/leave the ground etc safely and WITHOUT OBSTRUCTION! not for watching a game, would you go to a gig/theatre show/cinema and stand in the concourse area? The club must feel like theyre pishing into the wind here,we have a 3000 seat capacity terrace, fans greet cause they want to stand, club designate 25-30% of the seats in said stand to become an area the club "will turn a blind eye to standing" in. Now we have fans greeting cause they cant stand in the fucking concourse to watch the game.
-
not that you really should have to explain yourself but your reasoning behind the complaint was entirely valid mate. Stand in the back row of seats but no real need to stand in what is a concourse leaning over a stranger with Bovril etc. I wonder tho,if it had been a couple of 16 year olds instead of aggressive drunk men, would they have been left to stand? I think we all know the reaction of the yellow jaicketed shitebags in that situation Il tell you one thing tho,I admire your control. If Id have been in that situation, the cunt who spat would have woken up in Wishaw General, fucking vile.

any news on the Grimshaw lad yet?

sure its closer to £5k a week

the "Matchday experience" for me reminds me of when I was in Houston a few years ago and went to a Houston Rockets v Orlando Magic game. For a start, our tickets were amazing and only around $25, the tickets were sold on a sliding scale from $7 for the rafters to $000's for Courtside so everyone who wanted to go had the opportunity. From the second we entered the arena, the cheerleaders were milling around doing photos,a local kid was djing in the concourse, the club shop was hoaching, restaurants in the arena were packed with families, there were vendors wandering around selling hot dogs / hats / beer. During the game every break was filled, the fans got involved with games on the big screen, the cheerleaders were out dancing etc, the organ was on encouraging fans to chant and sing. There was as much or as little entertainment as you personally wanted, plus some of the best players in the world .................. Then the week after I went to a Motherwell game, sat in the East Stand, paying £18/£20 and getting searched then herded into the ground, watching stewards pull kids from the stand because they wouldnt sit down, listening to a faint crackle for a pa system, enjoying an expensive pie that left me looking like Simon Weston after the grease exploded out on the first bite, kiosk shut just after half time and herded out after watching "professional" players who couldnt pass a ball 5 yards. my point is, were conditioned here to turn up,pay, get what were given and sit on our plastic chair shutting the fuck up till its time to leave, then fuck off and turn up again 2 weeks later. It could and should be much better

I take it from your comment you have played the game at some level? If so please tell me when your next game is cause if your running around like a fucking windmill it will be hilarious to watch. Reaching up but covering his face, arms out by his sides or stretched in front and aye you have positions which arent natural but can happen. Lasleys handball is a pen all day long. There is no need for anyone, let alone a professional footballer of 18 years inside a penalty box to have their arms stretched 3 feet above their head when making a challenge.

I wish we could be a proper forward thinking business and plan more than 6 months ahead. Guys like Bannigan & Cerny at Partick, Blair Alston & Keiran Duffie at Falkirk, McGovern at Hamilton all bosmans in the summer amd would be cracking for us.
-
with Ciftci,GMS,Armstrong,Gauld,Robertson all gone they are a shadow of their former selves. The Utd who were swashbuckling and tore us to ribbons at times a year or two ago are gone. They have good players but are more mechanical, less maverick. This game is set up for our counter attack style. Marv, Lionel,Moult & Skippy could have a field day. like the rest of the SPL, its pretty much 50/50, but if we hit them early I can see them folding whereas if they hit us early,we will still have confidence
-
Blair Yule and Daryl Nicol are their best players. The rest are experienced and rugged/solid players. Nicol is 23/24 and has something like 26 goals this season,he is moving to Australia so may be away by time we play. Yule is a very good young player,22 and a right back or central midfielder for the most part. Take them seriously and do our job as professionals and we will win by 3 or more, but this is a potential Albion Rovers type banana skin. They are flying in the Highland League way abead of Brora,Turriff,Nairn & Formartine who have all spent a lot of cash on their squads
-
Decent draw. One even better thing is Cove's striker and best player moves to Australia this month, he has scored over 20 so far I believe so will weaken them majorly. Formartine are a good side, spent an insane amount of money for a highland league team (£30-40k signing fee for Paul Lawson, £40k transfer fee to Fraserburgh for Scott Barbour,£30k to Keith for Cammy Keith,£20k signing fee for Jamie Masson from Aberdeen, several other transfer and signing fees and compo of around £30k for Kris Hunter and their new management team.
-
Paul Lawson is several levels above Formartine, however its an easy gig for him close to his roots and he is on a cracking wedge. They just signed a striker in the summer from Fraserburgh for £40k and Jamie Masson who was highly rated wi Aberdeen u20's. Theres some amount of cash in the highland league compared to anything else in scotland outside the premiership

They never stole a drum, they were forced to take it to communicate to each other cause the heavy handed polis presence was stopping them using their phones. The bus driver is talking pish,he deliberately bumped into 14 members of the young team trying to noise them up and get them in trouble and as for the stewards cap? He was a jumped up fanny in a yellow jaiket goading the young team for a reaction. The flare is just bringing some atmosphere! Fucking sick of the heavy handed policing of games. The young team go to support their team and get targeted for being wee boys. I hope the polis and stewards feel like real men now, picking on lads who are continually oppressed

Ive seen people arrested and charged for very little in many walks of life,it can happen no matter the legislation. It doesnt change the fact that the same group attract attention to themselves then cry about over zealous stewarding. Im 6'2 ,20 stone bald wi tattoos and often enjoy a pint in Daniels pre match, probably THE stereotypical troublemaker! I sing jump around and swear at matches and yet Ive never, ever been close to being arrested or thrown out. Novel Idea, support your team, stop antagonising stewards, bringing in flares or smoke bombs and jumping onto tbe pitch and I guarantee any "trouble" will practically dissappear! Laughable standing with the Green Bigade as well. A group also complaining of steward victimization but who are known for and have had fans banned for singing IRA songs, intimidation and destroying stadiums when they feel like it.
