  1. Actually havent bothered taking much notice at the table recently but had a look today and were 13 points (12 & gd) from a top 6 place already? Given the financial position of the club, were about 90% certain to end up in admin if we go out the scottish cup early and fail to finish top 6! Relegation would all but finish us for good. In light of this, can we afford NOT to sack McCall? Ok Im not his biggest fan anyway but what is obvious for me (and was confirmed by Bradford fans when he came to us) is that McCall is a solid fair weather manager, able to keep his team in good spirits when they are settled and doing well, but he flounders once he loses his top 11 and will favour shoehorning in experienced "favourites" over developing young players! THAT is exactly the kind of manager we can do without at Fir Park. The longer this shambles goes on the harder its going to be to dig ourselves out of it! We must act now or it will be too late. We dont have a great squad but as I pointed out in another thread, its more than capable of SPL top 3/4 if the players are well drilled, fit and playing in natural positions. We need a new leader woth the above attributes and not the ginger mulleted ostrich we currently have
  2. Shaka

    St Johnstone

Ainsworth closely followed by Ojamaa. Vigurs had a good game too and wee Dan kept it respectable
  3. I dont actually think were too bad a team IF we were fit and well drilled in a formation where we didnt have centre halfs at right wing, midget full backs at centre half and strikers wide left! Dan Reid,Kerr,McManus,Hammell Carswell,Lawson Ainsworth,Vigurs,Ojamaa Erwin Gives us experience in Gunnar,O'Brien,Lasley,ZFA ,Sutton and young blood like Leitch,Cadden,Thomas & Moore to come in Thats a decent, easily top half SPL squad if they were fit,the defence well drilled,we played a formation that suited us AND players in their natural position! Unfortunately none of tjat happens or has happened for quite some time (Not even entertaining Cummins,Law & McHugh)
  4. Two comedy goals to lose yet another game. No midfield, allowing them to run 70 yards unopposed then the second was pure slapstick! I thought Kerr was unlucky to slip but wtf was our captain doing letting the lad have a free shot from 6 yards? That is a poor St Johnstone side who played well within themselves and they should have won 4-1. McCall can say all he likes about our chances,we didnt have a guy beat himself when clean thro 5 yards out and we didnt force their keeper into a stunning save from a bullet header! Sutton is a waste of a jersey and Lasley is finished. He shouldve been released in the summer but instead were stuck with him another 2 years,he has been great for us but is ruining that legacy by being utter shite in every game so far this season. How in tbe utter fuck can a team playing their 3rd game in 6 days look so much fitter than us and finish the game so much more strongly? McCalls team selection was yet again garbage and his subs just shite. Lasley has been shite all season and is first name on teamsheet. Sutton as bad and second on sheet. Josh Law is an imposter of a "pro" footballer and plays every game,Kerr will never be a winger and our formations r nonsense, this has been true since July and 14 games later is still as true now. This shows McCall cant/wont change things. His time is up and if he was any sort of decent person he would walk, he is an utter embarrassment. And take Black & Marshall with you! We are all Stuart McCall? No,FUCK-OFF Stuart McCall before you manage to kill off my club. Were a sinking ship here and with this captain at the helm were only gonna go down faster
  5. The managers time is up and we simply cannot afford to wait much longer! The last 2 seasons weve finished 2nd without cup runs but maybe 2 home euro games and lost significant six figure sums. This season we got 1 euro game where we got humped by a pub team,we got put out league cup in 1st round by Hamilton reserves and were 11th in league. Finishing bottom 6 will lose us £500k in league placings plus £100k + in losing crowds etc. THAT will either put us in admin or force us to savage the playing squad to the point we'd be playing with a mid size championship team budget, either way would be catastrophic. We have the Scottish cup in dec and need a league boost. For the future of my club,we need to act now
  6. 4-2-3-1 will only work if we utilize the players we have full but we all know McCall wont do that 4-2-3-1 Nielsen Ramsden,McManus,Kerr/O'Brien,Hammell Reid,Lawson Ainsworth,Vigurs,Ojamaa Erwin Would work but we all know Sutton,Law and Lasley are the first 3 names on the teamsheet and the team is set around that. Sutton/Erwin is a 50/50 swap so either could/should start but Law & Lasley should be in the stands with Cummins & McHugh
  7. Aye great to see McCall & Lasley talking tough in the paper. Just like they did after Rangers,Hibs,Aberdeen, Albion Rovers,St Johnstone, Stjarnan bla bla bla. All a load of empty promises and shite. Team - Lasley,Law & 9 others Formation - 4-4-2 with strikers on the wing, defenders wide right and midfielders up front probably Result - 1-0 Dundee Aftermath - McCall & Lasley talk angry in the paper Rinse, Repeat
  8. Just when we need him around our Manager will be fucking off on Scotland duty. Hopefully he resigns before he gets on the plane. His time is over,he has lost the dressing room. McCall out
  9. Fuckin pathetic. Yet another cup fuckup, and yet more money chucked away. Any other managers jacket would be on a shoogly peg!
  10. Personally, I feel we need to put Alan Burrows back to his Media role and bring in a Chief Exec with some experience who can work with companies to try diversify away from the Cap in hand to Fans tactic our current board feels the need to use. I cant be the only person sitting in Fir Park noticing almost every Executive Box we have sits empty on a match day? There are clubs in England (even in lower leagues) that have a "Premier Club" and/or a "Business Club" that looks to expand Business contacts in the local areas or offer something a little more special for fans that have the money. We need to think outside the box here. The main thing we need is a new structure and Ethos within the club. We need the Business Side,Football Side and Academy Side all working together. From the ground up we need our youth teams trained correctly and a through road evident for the development of our youngsters. We need a Head Coach who actively encourages youth development and integration in our first team and we need a business side capable of forward planning, selling our best youngsters and developing the business side to maximise our money earning potential. We need creativity + positivity, we have short termism + pessimism At the moment we have a business side who seem disjointed and silent, who only pipe up to remind us how skint we are. We live from season to season with a track record of developing talent for a so called selling club that is shocking and we have a management team who largely ignore our own youth and look to play their favourites come what may, the ave age of our team is sky rocketing and the entertainment is garbage, all wrapped up in an ever increasing cost to fans
  11. Ive been going to Fir Park since I was 4 and after 27 years,I finally got myself a season ticket 2 years ago for the first time, Myself + my Dad got them for the Cooper as it was the first time we had both been close enough (Edinburgh + Perth) and work allowed us to go. The football was brilliant to watch and we were superb but we decided against renewing due to the fucking around with ko times and dates etc as even with a considerable amount of extra effort and expense to make these games we still only managed 13 or 14 home games. I started with the notion Id have the season off and look at picking the season ticket back up this year and over last season I made 6 or 7 paying at the gate which was around £60 per match wi travel and food etc. Il be honest, every game was fucking brutal and the "entertainment" served up was non existant. Still, with finishing second and the unbudgeted bonus we got cash wise from that, along with only the potential of 1 or 2 (high earning) players leaving and possibilities of players coming in I was quite excited about this season. Then we got the price rise, Chief Exec walk away,Cheapo option "reorganization",Physio walk away, Board telling us the Well Society is doomed, Josh McCall from some 9th division English pub league being our only actual permanent signing of the summer and the Stjarnan disgrace and I stood back and thought, what do I actually get from this several hundred quid outlay? Is it worth the time, hassle and expense? So I didnt bother with the ST and to be honest, with the shambles we currently have I honestly dont know when Il want to go to a game again, We have no saleable assets, play the worst "brand" of football in the league, have the worst fitness in the league, poor organization, a Manager who refuses to develop youth and such a general feeling of apathy and short termism running through the core of our club that it is really putting people off parting with their cash, especially nowadays! Im sure I cant be the only one feeling like this! We need a spark, both on the pitch and in the boardroom
  12. Sounds like a good old McCall sub! And like his brother, pretty sure Josh is picking up the "McCall" mantle. Why is Erwin on the bench after his encouraging start? Has he been injured too?
  13. Were never allowed to moan about mccall! Dont you remember we were shite 30odd years ago!
  14. If fit,Id have Lawson before Lasley. Less of a liability and far better footballer
  15. I do! Do either of you know that we are "punching above our weight" and there are many fans on here who "have seen far worse in my 40 years, dont you know we were in the first division once" so Im pretty sure there will be a queue shortly to point out "its all part of the rollercoaster" and tell you to appreciate what we have, no matter how accurate you (Or I!) think Catweazles assessment is
  16. With the way this club is budgeted, If were even in this position with 4 games before the split the administrators will be at the door! Im not saying we will be but after almost 6 weeks and 6 games weve won 1,drawn 1, lost 4 and been outplayed in every match by teams (well 5 teams anyway) that we should be beating. Even not counting injuries we look far more unfit and ill prepared than every team we have faced. Time for McCall to earn his wage and beast those so called professional sportsmen and take a long look at himself when it comes to game planning cause as of now, were fucking dire with no sign of improving
  17. Glad Erwin got a goal and sounded like he put in a decent performance, just a pity our promising striker will be back on the bench when McCall gets his own promising striker on loan from the reserves of some team in League 1!
  18. Ya Bezzer summed it up pretty well there Ive said it for years but the last 3 have been the worst in terms of positivity from the club powers for me. Yes we need cash and yes things in scottish football are poor but our directors etc just seem to emphasise ths bad while glossing over the good. Weve had unparalelled success the last 3 years but even b4 the scottish cup final,we had McCall saying how the budget wd b cut n the cup didnt make us much money, and europe cd b a distraction, then we get champ lge football but hear that our budget will be cut again and we lost money cause we were shit in the cups. Then yet again we finish second and the talk is of extra player holidays and club losses due to cup failures. Plus you can add our shocking record of producing good youth players over the same time and the short termism employed by the management team All of this means when we lose players and have our Albion/Stjarnan debacles the negativity is emphasised and it gets harder to pick positives. Some positive spin from the club or positive changes in direction would go a long way to helping rather than the negativity/were skint n need your money 1-2 combo the club like to use now
  19. Ah forgot that,ok Vigurs will be missing but Id put money on the other 10. Remember feb time? We were getting humped and carrying 4 or 5 clearly unfit players for a few games in a row as McCall doesnt sway from the usual suspects. He is suddenly going to change now? Unless guys have missing limbs or broken bones they will play
  20. Twardzik Reid,Ramsden,McManus,Hammell Ainsworth,Carswell,Vigurs,Law,Lasley Sutton (Kerr & ZFA for Ainsworth & Vigurs after 72 mins) Anyone who thinks our team will differ from this are nuts. Its the McCall way, even if Lasley is missing a leg or Sutton wakes up blind and crippled on saturday morning McCall will go with tried and trusted experience and favourites,no matter their fitness, over youth.
  21. Could well be John Porteous is our biggest loss this summer! Last few years weve managed a threadbare squad patched together when needed by the best physio in the country. Now we have an even lighter squad and he is gone!
  22. looks like everyone in the age group plays 3 games against other random teams (we drew 1-1 v Co Londonderry , lost 2-1 v Southampton + won 3-0 v Santa Marta De Liray) after which you have a 28 team league standing. Then you split into a 4 team mini tournament with the teams around you in the league, we beat Chivas on pens after a 1-1, then Co Down 4-3 to win "The Bowl" . Well done the young lads
  23. They sign them on a low contract and as soon as he starts looking the biz, throw a 3 year deal on double the cash in front of him and convince him Utd is the place to manufacture a big move from. Kind of like what we did with Anier + Ojamaa. GMS came from Airdrie for buttons willing to prove himself, after a couple months where he proved his fitness was up he got a new deal, Exact same with Ciftci, Robertson came in on £700-£800pw from Queens Park and within 8 weeks had a 3 year deal on £1500pw,now 1 yr later he is in the premiership on £15k pw! Our problem (and its not meant as a dig at McCall even tho my feelings are well known) is 2 fold from our management, 1 - Young players dont get a fair enough crack, they get 1 or 2 starts only if all other options are exhausted and apart from that need to settle for 10 mins here + there as a sub so we cant judge if a guy is the real deal or just has a lucky debut. And secondly our management (and club in general) refuse to big our own players up! Aberdeen have McGinn,Jack,Pawlett,Reynolds , Utd have Gauld,Robertson, Armstrong,Ciftci,GMS,Souttar all as future superstars or international class at the moment but what did McCall say about the best keeper Ive seen at Fir Park in 30 years? "If he keeps his form up and gets a bit of luck theres no reason he cant play with a top League 1 team" League1? The guy is a premiership class keeper easily! fuckin unbelieveable.
