Great through ball from Polworth Fucking idiot

Maguire has shown well. As others have said, I like the "keep it simple" mantra. Something that really impressed me about O'Hara as well, especially in the County game. Havent seen a Centre Half put the ball in the stand so many times in donkeys years! Just clear lines and get back into position, lovely lol

I think we do have a chance next week. Celtic will be going all out on Thurs for a win in Prague, traditionally sunday league matches after those kinda games are a struggle. Plus we do sometimes get the odd draw with them, its Rangers we always lie down to in the league
-
Nope, just that it was a weird situation. It was an "injury" that never made him miss any games and was only picked up on a scan, yet needed serious surgery. Therefore, to my mind not an injury in the traditional sense, but more some kind of defect he always had. Anyway thats beside the point. They have Ryan Christie who is apparently the second coming of christ, Ntcham has been moved forward from his "traditional" deeper role and now Rogic is back on the scene in a big way. Theres no chance Turnbull is getting anywhere near that team this season, apart from a few 5-10 mins here or there. They had literally no other attacking midfielders in the recent Old Firm game and STILL Turnbull only got a couple of minutes
-
David Turnbull left wi skelfs in his arse again today. Cant help but think his mysterious "injury" last year has panicked him into a wrong move. At a time when he needs to be playing, he is on Celtic's bench, getting 2 or 3 minutes every now and again. Still, hopefully he will be an unused sub in the Cup Final and can get himself a Medal!

Any word on Carson?
-
....... always said Robbo should be given time!
-
Not that concerning. As much as I despise them, Rangers ARE the best coached team in the country! And MFC are a very very poorly coached team, but Im not sure how much of that is up to him tho as he isnt anything more than a first team coach helping apply the plans of Robbo & Las.
-
Yip, Fuck him. Been terribly advised to the detriment of his career. Hard to feel sorry for him when he shafted us out of hundreds of thousands
-
They have a first team squad of 30 I think, so 14 are now out with "covid"? Bollocks. Anyway You can start a match with 7! They have 12 fit professional players and Im pretty sure a few U18's fit so why cant the game go ahead? Scottish football is a fucking embarrassmemt
-
I thought McBurnie was decent! And Im not a fan, but he chased well, won everything in the air and was forced to live off scraps. Dykes was almost the exact same but I think he got involved a bit more. We just cant play Dykes & McBurnie together as they both flick headers on to nobody. As we dont really have anyone nippy, Id try Fraser up front wi Dykes on sunday SOD was absolute murder for 60 minutes, but finished strongly and deserves credit for the clean sheet. Gallagher was the best Scotland player...... and it wasnt even close

Marc McNulty signing for Utd. Good move for them. Wouldve loved to see us spend a little of the multi millions we have raked in recently on a proven goalscorer instead of the "fling shite at the wall and hope some sticks" approach of Robbo. Still, probably not much point in that considering how poor our "attacking" players are at creating chances for our strikers
-
Unfortunately we still have another fortnight of uncertainty over Campbell, sure the English Championship can still sign players until the 17th or something like that
-
Decent signing for them

It can be funny at times. Mainly for ripping the pish out of the media I remember my Aberdeen supporting mate pulling the Yerda Sellsavon trick a couple years ago and getting retweets and if I remember a short online article proclaiming the "exclusive" Dons signing news. I had another mate a good few years ago post that he was a baggage handler at inverness airport and had just seen an international (Romanian/Polish/Eastern European, cant remember the name) who played for Chelsea get off the Gatwick Easyjet flight heading to Caley park to sign a season long loan. An hour later he drove by the stadium to see P&J & BBC reporters sat outside looking bored
-
Wouldnt surprise me. Ive had a few Sellik fans at work asking me about him. Apparently theres the odd rumour they are looking at him as Broonys replacement cause they see him as a Hibs era Brown
-
Not sad to see Hylton leave, although he was the best of our 3 wingers! Not convinced about Cole. He's a decent player with pace to burn but not too much of a goalscorer. Last season he was predominantly thro the middle of the 3, are we going back to that? Lang / Watt / Cole could be a decent front 3. If its 2 up front then is it worth it? We would have Watt & Long / Lang / Cole / White. Just seems excessive.
-
Havent heard this poker night rumour, but if true it should be a 2-0 walkover for us. They knew the rules!! Taking the piss if they have done something that daft Unfortunately as posted above the SPFL will do evetything to avoid making a decision so as to not set a precedent that could affect one of the Old Firm
-
Now THATS an idea!
-
That is shocking if the game is off. All they need is 11 fit players out of a squad of 25-30 at least. Infact technically isnt it 8 minimum to start a match? If they are gonna start cancelling games for this, the season will never end Considering the lengths some other clubs have gone to with players out with covid, this is poor. Not a fan of Jim Goodwin but surely he is fucking raging, and rightly so

This game on tv?

It isnt about their ability to play. Look at Hartley & Aldred, they organized on the pitch. McHugh may have been limited but took responsibility and tried to keep those around him going, as did Tait. Look at how well Declan showed up with Hartley beside him, and how poor he has been this season with Lamie & Bevis beside him! We have no leaders at the moment other than Campbell who is a "lead by example" type. Could it be Donnolly? I dont know but even if it is, he is out till the new year! Our squad is very unbalanced. Robinson has made big noises about how thorough we are in our recruitment and look at temperament etc to make sure we have "the right characters" so Im very surprised the likes of Tait & Hartley werent replaced character wise. We do need some new recruitment, but it needs to be guys with leadership qualities and a bit of ability about them. Unfortunately with 2 weeks left in a transfer window those kind of players are non existant without transfer fees! The last thing we need is panic loans or bodies in for the sake of it
-
100% convinced we wouldnt have finished 3rd. And considering how we have carried on since restarting I dont think that is an unreasonable assumption. I agree I may be looking at it too negatively, however my worry isnt about quality in this team, as I believe we have that in abundance (when everybody is fit and on form!) Its about leadership and the fact we have none. And thats from the Manager right down through the squad

I want to add my reasoning to the debate here. I know Im tagged as a boo boy as well, but I at least want to show the reasons my opinions are the way they are. Motherwell are the 6th biggest club in the country, historically and points wise. That, and the league quality being utter shite, I feel finishing around 6th / 7th should be our level. With that being said, In Robbos first season, we finished 7th and made 2 cup finals. An undoubted success! We got pumped in both finals but made a good bit of money. However, after the League Cup Final, we went on a run of 2 wins in the following 21 league matches! Robbos second season we finished 8th, got a qf in the League Cup and 5th round in the Scottish Cup. Not what Id call a successful season, but not a bad season either! However in this season we went on 2 awful runs, winning 1 of our first 9 and 1 in 7 during December Last Season was incomplete. Both cups were very poor! The 3rd place finish is a nice CV header but means little considering the season still had a quarter to run. However wether we had finished 3rd, 5th or 6th if the season had run its course, the fact we guaranteed 6th meant it was a good season, nothing more than good due to the 2 bad cup exits. However, once again, we went on a shocking run, winning 2 of our last 10. This season we are 2 wins from 9. My biggest concern is that unlike in previous seasons, we dont have Moult/Main in 17/18, Turnbull in 18/19 or Scott/Donnelly in 19/20 to drag us through games. Yes Donnelly is still here but he's out till the New Year and Long is a shadow of the player he was last year. We also dont have players like Tait, Aldred, Hartley & McHugh who can lead the team anymore! Every season Robbos teams go on lengthy shocking runs, but have ALWAYS had a Turnbull / Moult / McHugh / Aldred / Hartley to push us on. This season we not only have none of that, we have players in Lamie, McGinley, Seedorf, Hylton & White who are nothing more than mid table Scottish Championship players, and thats being kind to Seedorf! Add to that the fact that 3 months into working with this squad, the manager doesnt know his best 11, doesnt know his most effective formation, and the team are making the exact same mistakes they were 8 months ago. I have never once said Steve Robinson has done a bad job here. He hasnt! But by the same measure, he isnt some kind of messiah either!! Everyone has an expiry date, and I just feel his has come at Fir Park. This season, our squad is weaker, evidently poorly coached, poorly organized and Im not even sure they seem as motivated as in previous years, theres just something not right. With Campbell undoubtedly away in the next 2 weeks I really do fear for our league status with no goals or leaders in the team

If my Aunt had balls she'd be my Uncle! Lets ignore how we ended last season and the issues that were very visible. Wipe the slate clean and start afresh from May of this year Robinson made a big thing of the defensive issues we had, the striking problems we had and how correct & early recruitment was a priority. He was backed to the hilt by the board, and his new players all came in early. He was given weeks of pre season to gel the team, and we are now 2 months into the actual season and how does it look? We STILL struggle to score, have no shape or purpose going forward and look utterly toothless. Unfortunately Joe Lewis cant play for every team. We STILL have a poor defence, if anything its actually worse than the end of last season We STILL cant defend crosses into our box Our own attacking set pieces are STILL comically bad We STILL dont know the best starting 11, best formation and are a badly organized shambles! Our squad is evidently a lot weaker than last season and our lauded new signings look like some of the poorest players weve had in a long time We have now sold all of our best Young talent and have NOTHING LEFT in the Academy, so no back up there! We are giving away penalties at a rate of 1 EVERY MATCH. After 9 fucking matches! We are making the same poor decisions and the same mistakes every week. Where is the accountability? Where is the leadership? Where are the consequences? Why, after 12 weeks does the manager not know his best 11 or the most effective formation? Why is our Plan B "stick on Seedorf & hope he has magically learned to play football"? I understand the manager shouldnt publicly crucify players, but when the same players are making the same mistakes or putting in the same poor performances every single game and still getting picked the following week, where is the incentive to change their ways? Why cant Maguire get a start? Or Devine? They cant possibly be any worse than what we currently have! The only thing saving us at the moment is that the SPL is as poor as I can ever remember it. The Rangers result yesterday doesnt bother me 1 iota, neither does the Beer Sheva result in midweek. What does bother me is that those teams didnt need to put any effort in to beat us, they just needed to wait until our inevitable implosion. They never got out of second gear because they never needed to. We should be pushing these teams and making them use their undoubted quality to beat us, not giving them penalties for nothing and not bothering to mark or follow Attackers. We SHOULD be learning from our mistakes and cutting penalties out, not actively going out of our way to concede MORE. The players have a lot to answer for (Carson, Campbell & Watt excepted) but the biggest issue is how poorly coached we clearly are and that is 100% on the manager. We know we dont have money and cant afford even Hibs / Aberdeen level of signings. So how do we combat that? By making our set pieces count, being a fit, well organised and hungry team and being defensively sound. The management team drill the players and organize us so that we MAKE teams have to break us down. But that isnt happening, and if its not happening after 3 months working with the players are Steve Robinson & Keith Lasley really the men who can make it happen?
