  1. plus we have Jon Page who did well when he came in,tho it looks like JG has him earmarked for right back. Still a great headache to have, Personally Id go with Reynolds + Hutchinson

    Passion

The thing about it is that we have been playing good football but usually it all goes out the window and teams adopt a backs to the wall attitude against the old firm, whereas we kept the football going and even took it to a higher level at times, so we have every right to enjoy it
  3. would be pretty happy with 5 points, Hibs and Utd are never easy games no matter where we play them. and would be delighted to find another scoring outlet during these games as we seem pretty lightweight up front
  4. i was in the POD yesterday and £25 for a seat that is just a wee wooden board is a fucking disgrace! im not even gonna start on the £3.40 so called cheeseburger at that hole of a "concession stand" I Took my bird to her 1st ever match at Fir Park yesterday (even she admitted at the end, shes got the Well bug now!) along with my sister and for 3 seats (that were worse than most highland league grounds ive been to) a cheeseburger, macaroni pie + a bag of crisps I was £82! and we wonder why scottish football is going down the shitter
  5. starting Murphy next week against Utd will be like starting with 10 men, Dods,Wilkie,Kenneth will bully him and dominate him, even him v Papac on sat was like Papac swatting away a 10 year old who`d wandered onto the pitch by mistake, horses for courses, against Utd, Sutton/Jutkiewicz with Coke backing up for me
  6. funny how I never seen ANYTHING in the Sunday Mail about the Rangers choruses of billy boys and the old "up to our knees in f****n blood", hmm surprise surprise. Was in the main stand yesterday, £25 for a shitey wee wooden board to sit on? fucking disgrace! also pissed off at O`Brian fluffing that pen and losing me £100 quid, lol, however the pitch looked amazing, and the football played on it was as good as Ive seen any Well team play in many a year, remember, we were playing a team who play champions league football just about every year and win trophies every year (and you could buy our whole club for the money they spent buying Bougherra) and for long periods we had them chasing shadows, great seeing guys from defence to attack all looking for the ball and content to keep ball and probe for openings, really loving Gannons stewardship, Love the fact he always seems to have a plan b+c when things dont work, like Murphy being out of his depth and subbing hm for Jennings to change formation a bit

    Rangers

I had £3.50 on Coke to score 1st at 20/1(and he was dying to take the pen) and £3.50 on h/t draw,f/t Well Win (I only had £7 on me when I was in bookies) so for losing me the best part of £100 on ma birthday, Jim O`Brian is a penis and should never be selected for motm ever again!!! Loads of good performances yesterday, Ruddy was superb, Saunders and Reynolds controlled Boyd + Miller, Hateley + Coke were immense but thought big Yassin shaded it, it must be hard running that fast with a french international in your back pocket (on another note, Rothen - the french Charlie Adam? ) His pace was unreal, very assured on ball, defensively solid, all round great and if only our midfielders didnt have a hardon for Jim O`Brian he could have really punished Rangers, every time we had the ball, he was up, blind side of papac and dying for a pass and just about EVERYTHING went out left!
  8. Im still getting used to the novelty of having a manager who actually sounds like he has longer term ambitions at the club, every time you hear him speak he is talking about the benefits of the young guys next year and things to help the club in the next couple of years! The average age of the squad before he came was around 24-25, now its barely 22 and when you think about the older players not really being in favour, we might not be too far off 19 or 20 come next summer. A good start all round for Jimbo, but as has been mentioned, there will be blips along the way. How are Stockport doing so far? how do you think you guys will do this year?
  9. Thats why he is talking bout the next couple of transfer windows, he signed a 4 year deal 2 years ago so has 2 years left, therefore january or next summer would get best price for him, if we dont sell then,he would go for a crap fee in 18 months time or free in 2 years.

    The Squad

this is a better subject for mid october once weve played everyone in the league, at the moment there are just too many variables. Lets be realistic, Its a new manager, 9 guys gone,8 new players in as well as 7 youngsters progressed from the 19`s. We have a 27 man 1st team squad now with an average age of 22 which is incredible . These guys have only played a handful of games together and while some have looked the business others have been slower getting up to speed. Numbers wise were stronger,a lot stronger! quality wise? we will find out soon enough but early impressions are that we are potentially stronger in every area apart from up front
  11. Aye we certainly have a cracking youth set up,Long may it continue. Was speaking to my birds best mate the other day and she was saying were chasing her nephew, He`s a 6 foot striker who plays for Dundee Utd, oh and he`s only 11! he`s so big and strong he`s playing wi Utd`s 16s team and scored 8 of his teams 9 goals the other week. He`s basically got the choice of heaps of clubs who want him but Utd,Hibs + Well are the favourites, good to see were casting our net a little wider too!
  12. Fucking hell, Dundee fair going for it with the spending this year, easily the best midfield and attack in that league, possibly better than a chunk of spl teams too, but unless they spend a bit more on that shocking defence its gonna be a rollercoaster for them

    Chris Humphrey

Best Wishes Chris, Hope Everything works out well
  14. Excited about Raynes if true, 6`3 centre half with a real good pedigree, love the end of transfer window and the excitement it brings lol
  15. His first season I will always be thankful to him for but even during then his conduct was far from pleasing, If Scotland had wanted him, Uncle Phil passing or not,he`d have been off like a shot, he was even in an airport departure lounge on way to meet Mad Vlad when he had a change of heart (read double your contract offer!), season 2 and the Nancy game,Hamilton x 2, Killie,St Midden x 2 all were monumental fuck ups where he was showing his "tactical nous" . He got us to 3rd by severely increasing our wage bill to over 70% of the clubs turnover, brought in a constant stream of loanees who did nothing when he could/should have been developing our own young guys. he wrecked Murphys confidence, played Saunders for 3 games where he was superb before dumping him for his golden boy and never giving him a chance again, and eventually left us with a squad of 10-12 full time professionals, If thats a club he has a "Special Bond" with Id hate to see him in charge of a club where he doesnt give a fuck!!
  16. Thats pish unless its a 14-15 year old we havent heard about, our best prospects for the last 2 years have been Slane,Page,Hutchinson,Forbes,Murphy,Archdeacon,Meechan,Lawless,Pollock,Saunders, McHugh who are all either in the current 1st team or current u-19 team, the only prospect weve lost in recent years was the goalie Alan Martin to Leeds,
  17. Absolutely LOVE hearing Gannon talk, the man is top notch. Superb performance by the sound of it on Radio today, Hutchinson + Forbes scoring exploits are so refreshing when you think that last season we scored feck all from Mid and Defence, Sure in the 8 games weve played Hutch + Forbes have scored more than our ENTIRE Defence + Midfield managed in the whole of last season! Special mention has to go out to Gordon Young and the Youth Development team as well! And what an inspired move switching Hutchinson from centre mid to centre defence, now we have that big, strong, dominant centre half weve craved for years, AND he can play a bit. Some cracking youngsters in the team now and by all accounts some top prospects still to make the step up, all in all, superb work guys! And in Gannon I believe we have the man to develop these guys to the best of their potential
  18. Gary Smith netting 2 as well, sure thats the boy we signed from Queens Park, great start from the guys, even more impressive considering Patrick McPake,Seb Kosirowski,Bob McHugh, Paul Slane + Steven Saunders from the 1st team are still eligible and didnt play any part today! Pollock,Smith,Lawless + Meechan could soon be following the other boys into 1st team contention, some cracking prospects coming through just now, makes it even more exciting that we finally have a manager who is taking a big interest and is gonna help their development even more!
  19. Paul Gallagher has just signed a 3 year deal wi Leicester from Blackburn so another name bites the dust lol
  20. Didnt we finish higher than St Midden on the cards front? total joke but then not really surprised, most things the SFA does are nonsense!!
  21. Wrong brother, Adam is a Left Back, Richard (who just signed for Burnley) is a Right Back
  22. Dont see Steven Meechan`s profile in either the u-19s or 1st team squads, is that a typo or has he left? He is meant to be pretty decent and another big prospect in midfield
  23. but if these guys contracts are coming up at the end of the season, surely its better to tie them up as soon as, why would they re-negotiate in dec if they can wait till jan to see what else is on offer! Plus McHugh,Slane,Forbes,Saunders have all had impressive displays at u-19 + reserve level, several had international recognition and 8-10+ games where they have looked impressive in our current 1st team, id say that was enough to merit contract renewals. ( Hutchison,Page + Murphy are already tied up so they are fine) Tho this might be the case and the club are doing it at the mo, or these guys might already have signed new deals and this might be a moot point!
  24. might well be a struggle, pretty sure Kyle will score, how many depends on how well/lucky we defend! Heart says 2-1, head says 1-2, so Il go for another draw lol
  25. Jamie Murphy signed a 3 year deal the season before last so he has 2 years left, Hutchison + Page signed 3 year pro deals this summer, Forbes I thought was out of contract this summer so must have got an extension,or he might just have 1 year left on that deal, Coke doesnt worry me so much either as his deal is 1 year with optional extension so we have the extra 2 or 3 years to tack on, the players Id look at 1st is McHugh,Slane,Saunders + Forbes (depending on his situation)
