  1. yes-yes-yes ............ great spirit, now keep it tight FFS
  2. looping header 10 yards out, over the 41yr old Alan Main, from a Hammell free-kick. according to Sky ......................... fekk-fekk-fekk
  3. c'mon Motherwell. If we have aspirations of finishing Top-6 we simply have to get victories at McDiarmid and the likes.
  4. Fuxsake ..................... c'mon guys. Same here Shaka.... that leaky roof that kept me here has been a godsend so far
  5. a lot of legislation came into place round about then, safety at sport stadiums act, local council safety certificates, etc., 2 new rows of crash barriers were constructed at the same time fence went up I think, and they blocked off access to the back of the Shed - a favourite battle ground on match day. OB really didn't have a clue back then did they
  6. Apparently we had too many Tims in the team for Big Jock's liking. Very sad news if confirmed. Brian was a real quality player, naturally gifted and part of a very decent Motherwell team at that time. I will go and raise a wee glass to the man's memory
  7. wasn't sure ............ so long ago and I was so young then
  8. Couple of landmarks here ....... 1975/76 season saw the new Premier League kick-off in Scotland. We drew 1-1 at home to Ayr Utd in front of over 5,000. I proudly wore my new doc martens, one amber lace and one claret lace , Brutus jeans with cheesecloth shirt, one scarf tied round wrist and other in knott round neck Sure that was when the fence went up in the Shed too. League used to start at end of August, after 6 League Cup section games.
  9. Me too ....... here's hoping he does well and enjoys his time here.
  10. gave it to Deemfc, sorry Mr B
  11. give me a cuple of weeks so I can sort thru some of the boxes. You interested in old strips ? from the 90's.
  12. aye she was the steelmenonline.co.uk of the pre-internet days ............... she knew everything and everyone
  13. but he might scald yer arse sir
  14. I've got anattic full of MFC stuff, much of which is simply gathering dust and is deservingof a far better home; OSB's GLF's KtH's and progs. Obviously some stuff is not for parting and it depends what you are after. Don't look for money off a fellow Dosser. If I have what you are after and I'm willing to part with it and you are prepared to pay the P&P from Skaville ......... it's yours.
  15. Indeed ......... famous Dundee fans song from the 70's/80's which ended with the repeated lyrics .... Dundee United ARE SHITE, Dundee United ARE SHITE, etc., etc., The TV gantry at Dens was under their Shed terrace roof above their more vociferous fans and this little ditty was often heard on Scotsport on a Saturday night
  16. I reckon we'll do ok, don't think the standard is that high tbh. I also think the Jambos will have a decent season . 1. Tims 2. Jambos 3. Buns 4. Are Shite 5. Motherwell 6. Hibs 7. Aberdeen 8. Kilmarnock 9. Accies 10. St Mirren 11. St Johnstone 12. Falkirk
  17. Think they went 2-0 then we went 3-2 then they went 4-3 then we went 5-4. What a game it was. As for the Hibs 6-2 game, I was late leaving Edinburgh and was about to park the car at the civic when Hibs went 2-0 up. Sod that I thought and didn't bother going in. Another comeback was Dunfermline in late 80's. We were 2-0 down at half-time and plenty fans wanted out at that point.....me included. Enter Stevie Cowan ............... and we won 3-2
  18. Me too ........... That Spurs game in particular, 25 000 crammed into Fir Park for that 3-1 victory in 1971 was an early highlight for this Dosser.
  19. Derek, it's difficult to know how our line-up will appear. It'll be an attacking one though, that's for sure. Skaville to McDiarmid maybe a long journey but I'm looking out my MFC boxers C'mon ye 'Well.
  20. the older ones amongst us will remember the frequent violent scenes which followed some English clubs in europe in the 70's/80's. coming from the same island, many in europe ( remember Nancy's worries ) kinda expect us all to be the same. Now while the majority of English fans seem able to behave themselves abroad, it is often the natives who seem up for trouble. We must never underestimate the impression made by us football fans when travelling abroad. For decades mainland europe had us Brits classified as animals .............. but oh how proud we felt seeing the reaction of the locals when we marched from Stan Sq to Marcel Piqot. I had tears in my eyes when we were applauded off the ferry, by staff and passengers alike, returning from Dortmund
  21. so they cheat to avoid getting a hard time ? The sooner they are able to utilise tv technology the better IMHO.
  22. great name mate ..................... heavenistheFirPark wheretheHibeezshattheirload
  23. Was looking at mine the other week ............. Have a look at the fans on pitch pic and see how many Dads/Grandfathers we have amongst us now
