  1. BBC cameras were at New Bogfield last week, the goals shown on the following night's 6pm news. Yir Elder is right about the friendly shown online 2 years back, but I cannae remember where either.
  2. 20,000 bevied up Buns and around 100 of us hardy diehards in the ground. We go 2-0 up inside 10mins and all hell breaks loose. We are layed into something terrible, squashed in at the segregation fence and OB struggle to contain the violence which spills onto the pitch. Ref stops the match and takes the players off the pitch. This 16year old is keechin his pants as long-haired grizzly looking men clad in union-jacks are trying to kick my head in OB eventually restore some sort of order and take us over the wall and escort us round the track and out behind the stand. That was the end of the game for us. Match restarts and Buns score 5 to our 1. Think they got the points deducted tho.
  3. doubt any score will shut a travelling 'Well support up.
  4. I support the opinion that our colours were changed to avoid the almost constant need to change strip due to colour clashes with the abundance of clubs who also played in blue and white. Guess we may never know precisely why we went for C&A. Glad we did tho
  5. Casey's pic from St Mirren cup-tie in 1977. A very tightly packed Fir Park that day with the 'official' attendance given at just under 27,000. "No way", said my old-man who was also at the 1952 cup-tie against Rangers. He reckons there was more in 77, and remember Fir Park was a larger arena in 77 than it was in 52 yet the attendance was given as approx 36,000.
  6. I'm with Cakes here ............ I was also of the belief the claret and amber was to do with racing colours of Lord Dalziel or Hamilton. Not sure now though. Fir Park was donated to us tho ? yes ?
  7. Hit the post, apparently fantastic crowd thou ........ just a pity the St Midden cup-tie was before personal media recording kit was so easily available.
  8. The old Knowetop Special End, circa 1960
  9. It'll be claret and amber stripes with white shorts. that was our strip 1924-1928 Motherwell's strips
  10. He was at a Motherwell -v- Aberdeen match in early 80's with Kid Jensen, and commented on his Radio-One show about the worst football holliganisn he'd ever witnessed. It was the day Aberdeen introduced their casuals on an unsuspecting Fir Park. Side-shed met skinhead and adidas trainers clashed with doc martens on the pitch before the game. Willie Millar came out and pleaded with fans to quit their antics. Not sure why he would affiliate himself with us after that, but I remember several 'Well fans mentioned that they had gone over to him on the Knowetop Ave terrace and said hello. He played a few requests on the radio the following week.
  11. watch yer time between connections ............. it's a fekking big airport with many distractions, and can be one hell of a trekk from gate to gate and several security checks on-route. be prepared to remove yer boots, belt, sporran, etc.,,
  12. Good point. It's the future we can manipulate not the past. IMHO Mark McGhee did well at Fir Park, but was always destined to move on ...... that's been his way. Just have a wee think where we were at the end of Malpas's reign. It's all gone now, not forgotten, but lets move on ........... and give Jim Gannon our fullest support. Here's to The Gannon Babes
  13. KLM still has Aberdeen to Bucharest return via Amsterdam or CDG for £260. Depart Wed, return Friday.
  14. was he there ? wish I'd noticed the wee sheet ............ if there's one pantzer tank I hate it's that wee cretin
  15. Very 'Well said that man ............. I witnessed an 8-0 thumping at Pittodrie, and I certainly wasn't in any mood to offer any congrats to the Sheepeez thereafter, even those Dandies at work I got on with knew not to say too much the next day
  16. And from Aberdeen ....................... pity I cannae get time off work
  17. He comes across well in interviews
  18. just hope our immigration cops round up all em Albanians. Difficult to imagine anyone prefering Airdrie to the Adriatic but you never know
  19. 4641 ........ decent crowd considering it's in bandit country
  20. Cheers for the heads up mate. Hope what you're saying doesn't come to bite us, and it is unfortunate that he arrives under a cloud. Best of luck to the Cobblers, (pity you pay in Jambo strips tho )
  21. £650+ a head no doubt
