  1. IMHO we're in a far better position than we were 2 years agao. Did anyone actually think Mark McGhee was here for life ? It was obvious from the onset that MFC would be a stepping stone to getting a higher profile position ........ and so what I say. Time to move on folks FFS.
  2. I'd rather lose managers for the right reason i.e. Mark McGhee, than for the wrong reasons i.e. Maurice Malpas every time. Give me a guy who brings us relative success then moves on every time. If he uses MFC as a shop window then so beit, at least he'll give his best to attract attention. We've made some pretty poor appointments in the last decade;- Billy Davies, Harry Kampman, Maurice Malpas .............. here's hoping JB has the savvy to avoid a repeat. Money aside, MFC has to be an attractive proposition for someone. No media pressure, a new pitch and European football to look forward to.
  3. Very very disappointed at this decision, albeit none of us were privvy to the process which reached this conclusion. Airdrie may not be far away, but might as well be Kilmarnock for those restricted to public transport. I do hope MFC put on buses to get fans over there. Might be worth while puting on some package deal ........... a pie and a pint in the Cooper suite, then ticket and travel for £20 say.
  4. Best of luck to them both. They are not the 1st to leave MFC what what they perceived as bigger and better things. It's done and dusted, so lets move on with appointing a suitable and hopefully beneficial successor.
  5. ......... Mr M had a slight disagreement with the ticket-collector and I was very well behaved on the train ... just ask the pretty French lady who kept trying to see up my kilt
  6. What about your Paris - Nancy train experience
  7. stunning vote so far for Luc Nijholt. Wonder why that is ?
  8. Like many before me ................ a new stadium, The Craig would be top of my agenda. It would be a unique 2-tier'd U shape design, encorporating world class facilities for fans to enjoy on match day and thru the week. This to include supporters' bars and restaurants and leisure facilities. Behind one goal would be the Blast Furnace End where atmosphere generating home fans would amass and give it laldy every week. Along the side would be the Puddler Stand where the more sedate 'Well fans could gather to sit and watch proceedings without interuption from the roudies in the BFE. Behind the other goal would be the Scrab Stand for away fans. On match day I could be found in my multi-million pound pitch-side executive suite receiving indian head massage from naked Scandinavian ladies while a scantily clad Melanie Sykes and Caroline Katz served me Ben Riach Curiositas and diet irn bru
  9. His name is forever etched in the history of MFC. RiP Willie
  10. Fan and media pressure will be much more intense IMHO.
  11. Is there such a man out there ? Lets face it, any manager who does a decent job at Motherwell will always attract interest from elsewhere, its that kind of show. He's damned if he fails and he's damned if he succeeds............ and we're damned either way
  12. Not so sure ............. returns don't tend to work too well. Colin O'Neill assisted by Peter Grant
  13. Best of luck to him if he does move on. MM has given us a good 2 years, amidst very very difficult circumstances so I won't criticise the man. If he does go and I met him in the street then I'd shake his hand and wish him well IMHO, Aberdeen are a bigger club than MFC and a greater challenge awaits him ........... If he stays, then good. If he goes, then lets get on with it. Life and football goes on.
  14. All the very best to the new Mr & Mrs D Clarkson
  15. Spot on sir ................. Agents have ruined the game, encouraging players to hold clubs to ransom. Time they were booted out, with the Players Union taking up the role.
  16. multiple applause Leanne .............. whatever I have upstairs in my treasure chest you are welcome to use.
  17. why the large vote for Livingston ? NDP has 3 stands and is big enough, (unless we draw Linfield), and close enough not to be a major impact on travel arrangements.
