  1. C'mon Drew .............. less of this obscure drinking locations, it's gotta be the Butchers Arms FFS B)
  2. Special aka

    Highlights....

My thoughts too, and could have secured more points for us in recent weeks.
  3. In the Home End with a lot of other away fans I'd say, hypothetically speaking of course
  4. Remember seeing it on plans also. Over the Railway behind South Dalzell church, (which will be demolished to make way for connection with road at Halfords roundabout). + just look how close FP is to a potential site just behind the Dalziel Plate Mill A new home approx 1/2 mile from our old one in the shadow of a steelworks
  5. good points mate, and to further substantiate your counterstatement to Ya Beezer's claims; Dundee Utd moved from Clepington Park to Tannadice Park then became part of the New Firm winning the League Cup twice, League Championship, UEFA Cup runners-up, European Cup semi-finalists and Scottish Cup winners ................... very unsuccessful eh
  6. Is there another access gate ? Ground looked pretty land-locked to me. I had assumed we'd all access thru the turnstyles at the top of the hill. Anyway ......... I do hope the game is on and that you and yer mates enjoy your big day out. Here's hoping for an exciting cup-tie and plenty of goals.
  7. Goes back a lot further than that my friend. My father used to talk of a great Motherwell -v- Hearts rivalry in the 1950's, when both clubs had fairly decent sides and relative success on the park. Then there's something missed so far........ Motherwell - Hearts, where west meets east (before Livingston). Lanarkshire borders West Lothian and fans of both clubs were and can be found in border towns such as Forth, Bathgate, Armadale, Whitburn, etc., creating a geographic rivalry. Texaco Cup semi of 1970 was my 1st taste of the Jambos, and as I progressed thru my teens the visit of Hearts was an eagerly awaited fixture for us that frequented the shed. I joined BoS in Edinburgh in 1982, ( 1 month after the infamous final game of season 81/82 and the riot in Gorgie Road), and spent 20 years working there (which included 2 stints living in the capital) ................. and Hearts fans are worse than H-uns in my experience. FHW ...... too right !
  8. c'mon, c'mon, c'mon ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, don't lie back now
  9. what terrace ? it's a grass verge, honest, and cold grass can be uncomfortable to stand on, extra socks required was quite mild in Inverurie this morning ..... more of the same please to penetrate what must be a very deep frost on their pitch.
  10. It's night like this that remind me just how much I detest those Jambo bassas
  11. Also meant to say, their Social Club is a sell out all ticket Corporate Entertainment jobi and as such no Motherwell fans will be granted access. Best bet is to head into the town centre. Butchers Arms is on West High Street, 6 or 7 minute walk from ground and 2 min walk from train station. From Butchers Arms to ground; exit pub and turn right then take 1st right into Constitution Street, passed Tesco and thru roundabout into Harlaw Road. Ground is 1/4 mile up Harlaw Road on right hand side. Mon the 'Well
  12. Popped in by this morning to find 4 Pittodrie groundsmen working on the pitch. Very firm at present and needs a further increase in temp and an inch or 2 of thaw (here's hoping) for the game to get the go ahead I reckon. Took some pics for you .............. Main entrance & social club the only turnstyles our end ......... tight squeeze for the 500 I reckon the main stand the home (only terrace) ...... btw spot the temporary fence behind the perimeter wall on the right, so no climbing over now lads
  13. so far so good What about the Hearts ? FUCK the Hearts
  14. League game at Dens, 1980. Had just been offered my 1st job .... (Trainee Computer Operator) and drank a wee bit too much Old England on the way up to Newharthill for the bus, topped up with Buckie in the Cottage, I puked most of the way from Perth to Dundee. Got dropped off in Tannadice St and turned into Provan Road right into a mob of Dundee skins. Don't know who was more shocked, them or me ? Here's this 6'7" doc marten and crombie coat wearing Motherwell skinhead, on his tod, well pisshed, on our patch, outside our end !!! Must have been the smell of puke that put them off as I made my way into their end only to find all the 'Well fans were in there already. B)
  15. Councilors change their minds with the weather, or is it the exchange of silver Surely even the red-rosette wearing eejits of NLC can recognise the benefits of a multi-purpose complex Lets face it, Fir Park is no longer fit for purpose, just like Dalziel Park and Roman Road were. However, we have to think about the long-term future of MFC and we as current fans all have to wake up to these facts. It will be painful but a move is the only viable answer. Think we are all in agreement, even Mark McGhee, that we don't want one of barr's soul-less breeze block efforts.
  16. They are a progressive club, but I doubt they'll have invested in covers as even undersoil heating would struggle to cope with the freezing temperatures the Garioch gets at this time of year. Our only hope is a susbstantial thaw over this week and no more overnight frosts. I'm thru that way on Wednesday, will take a look and report back.
